breh I grew up in South Carolina. Rural South Carolina. I didn't need to see roots when I could just go out my grandma's back door and see the plantation house she used to work in and the cotton field my grandfather worked on. I didn't see roots until i was in college 1997.... and by that time I was numb to it plus I was all Amistad, Mississippi burning, Higher Learning, and Rosewood out.
I have to say that i can feel you but nothing else is like Roots. You owe it to yourself to watch it.

Read the OP. It confuses the meaning of "nation" and "state." The assertion that the US is not a single nation, or is not a nation state, is totally valid. The US is, however, a state, and nationality usually refers to what "state" you call home. What "nation" you come from however your ethnicity. I'll admit it's a semantic mixup of the English language (I don't know if it exists in other languages).
