I hated the half ass attempt at the end trying to convey consequences for the charter's actions, Seems like they just threw that on there to say they addressed the negativity but it just felt rushed and forced,

Just got done watching it. Way better movie at home than it was in theaters - it's a movie that's begging to be paused or skipped through.

I saw Big Hero 6. It was ok. Great animation. Story was just serviceable and super predictable.
That whole bit made NO sense to me. There's no reasonable way Korra could have kept Batar away from Kuvira. Woman is tenacious beyond belief, has an army AND a WMD at her disposal. Plus what's stopping Kuvira from just shooting up more Republic soldiers with her WMD? Considering Republic City just renigged on their surrender, she'd be justified. They would have to fold immediately and give up Batar. It feels lie none of the character, or the writers more accurately, thought this through. Gotta make sure Kuivra twirls that mustache and that team Avatar can get Batar to spill the beans on how to beat the giant mech.

I've never seen it but I've heard mostly good things about it. I think it a pretty expansive franchise to quality might fluctuate? Ask in the Anime OT, there are a fair number of people in there who would know more about it.

I saw a few episodes of the original OVA. Pretty good. More about the people driving the mechs than the mechs. At least watch it to get to the first two movies. Patlabor Movie 2 is on-point -- it's the movie Oshii made directly prior to GitS.
Korra was just counting on Batar being a bitch and not realizing that. She probably realized how much of a simp he was.
