I'm not sure if this is thread worthy, but... any thoughts on VHS rot? It appears to finally be affecting some of my OLD VHSes that I never updated, the tape appears to be turning white.
The idea of a Berman box is TERRIFYING.
My wallet is preemptively crying and dying.
Oh wow. Never thought I'd see the day. (pls don't fuck it up Cri)
and that Jabberwocky cover is amazing.
Some of that box art is the best I've seen from Criterion.
Le Samourai, though...c'mon we were overdue for some awesome new art.
Sure but this doesn't really display his gorgeous cheekbones in the most optimal manner.Who needs new art when the existing image is Alain Delon overdosing on swag?
It's his (solo) feature debut, mixed critical reception, trailer makes it look like it is lesser known for a reason.Plus I've never seen it, the only Gilliam movie I haven't seen. Wasn't aware of it, TBH. Anyone know of it?

Word. I hope they keep that beautiful impressionist watercolor look from the last Bluray transfer.
I blind bought it on DVD a while ago. It's... Not very good TBH. But visually interesting.Yeah I haven't seen jabberwocky but I want to buy it already cuz of that amazing cover
Le Samourai gonna be copped too for sure
It's not great but you can see the direction his solo work will take. Just glad to replace my VHS copy.Seriously, I don't usually buy a blu ray for the art, but I'm totally buying that for the art.

Well, Arrow seems committed to making sure that Seijun Suzuki's legacy is well looked after. How very nice of them.
Just did an irresponsible impulse buy for something I probably won't be able to watch until I get a region-free player!
I hate you people for what you've done to me.

Your bad decision enabled my own!Me? What did I do!
dumb q but are modern criterion discs 4k? as in, i can only play them on my xbox one s/x ?
Decided to give Filmstruck a shot and I'm kind of stunned it doesn't keep your space in your movie? At least on mobile?
I know Criterion provides exposure to older movies, but there's no need to restore older technology too.

Is now the time to start bitching about colour timing again?
Eureka titles for November:
... well the most interesting thing I can say is that the alternative title for Manina is "The Girl in the Bikini".
(They also announced a bunch of stuff that is forthcoming in 2018 or thereabouts, including two MoC titles, but I chose to not feature them now)
Shit talking Sono, smh
You're forgetting about their output of old BBC shows which only appeals to those who watched them growing up!I've never understood Eureka. They release these classic films from all over the world, and then their modern stuff is mostly shitty Asian films?
Synapse Films' Blu-ray for Suspiria now available to pre-order!
Can't post the images of the packaging, but it's all looking so, so nice.

Jesus Christ Studiocanal, you're making me broke.
Thanks for taking this one for the team.Fuck me. I bought the old set recently.
The Poirot ones are pretty damn good. The ensemble is just insane in all three, I mean Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, and Anthony Perkins (and that's just for Murder...).Oh well, it was dirt cheap and I'm really interesed in two of these.
Wish someone would release the TV films +Yeah, the 2 Ustinovs for me.
Orient Express is one of the most boring films I have ever seen (twice). Never again.
(Never seen the Rutherford ones, interesting).
You're not wrong, but these are still great in their own right. Also I can't stress how good these covers are.Guys, let me help you. Just buy this:
