Don't really like it. Looks too mexican Wrestler to me. Expected the mask and look to be darker, more dirty, gritty etc.

What? It looks like a gas mask. When have you ever seen a Mexican wrestler wear anything that even remotely resembles what Hardey is wearing?

I'm still mystified why Nolan agreed to use one of the all-time lamest comic book villains in his carefully crafted universe. If he's simply decided to go full-on cheese, like Marvel, then just stick Killer Croc in there and let's be done with it.

Seriously how do people who don't read comics feel well educated enough to talk about characters? I don't watch basketball. Therefore, I don't comment on whether Kobe or Lebron is better.

Just looks like a more modern technological version of what's been done before tbh. But yes, you could say it looks like a skeletoral gas mask. Still a bit uninspired imo.

You assume quite a bit, Mr. Batman avatar. Touting Secret Six as a bonafide example of Bane's prowess in a serious universe, is as asinine as using Sinister Six to legitimize Venom.

Batman has more than enough intriguing foes to warrant inclusion, without stooping to "Superfriends" level cheese. Bane is good/fun for what he is, but there's no way you can convince me he belongs in a Nolan flick.

BTW, Kobe was better 5 years ago and Lebron is better in 2011.

I don't understand how Secret Six doesn't display that the character is more than cheese. It's all about who is handling the character. Simone has shown that Bane can easily be done a character with a strict moral code and amazing strategic prowess. Nolan will likely do a similar portrayal. That's not cheesy just because he wears a mask. Simply wearing a mask doesn't make it cheesy. Bane grew became who he is in a disgusting Latin prison. The mask makes just as much sense as clown makeup. Especially since it looks like Nolan will use the mask as a drug delivery device.

Imdb Tom Hardy if you must, it's not hard. He was in Inception and Bronson among other projects, and I believe both have been talked about in here. Bronson definitely has.
Bane's been explained about a dozen times in this topic. He's strong and angry and incredibly smart and wants to kill batman.
Nolan North is a voice actor.

I can agree with you on this - if Simone had complete artistic license of Bane's character in the movie, then I'd have a bit more faith in how he's portrayed on screen.

Whatever the case, the movie itself ought to be another classic. Hopefully (IMO), more resilient like Begins rather than Knight.

I think the "mask" looks ridiculous. I think I'd rather have the spawn looking mask over whatever the hell he's wearing there.

I've seen people saying that they don't want the mask off during the movie. I don't get that. It may make him marginally more mysterious but it makes him way less of an actual character at the same time.
 
While nothing is known, keep in mind that Bane doesn't keep his mask on all the time. It's part of his apparatus that helps him become a freak so I doubt we won't see his face or his expressions.

But compared to what Bane looked like in the previous Batman movies and cartoons, this Bane outfit is minimal and therefore awesome!

SHOW ME CATWOMAN NEXT!

If people are this opinionated over a single picture. Its going to be interesting whenever the first images of Catwoman come out then.

If anything, Catwoman's probably going to be the biggest challenge to get that real-world feeling without completely abandoning the iconic image. I can't see the reaction to her first pic being great.
 
Looks cheesy. And if that posted rumor is true... The Dark Knight is officially the best Batman movie that will ever be made.

Yes. If he were wearing the mask the whole time, he wouldn't have full use of his facial expressions. If he didn't have full use of his facial expressions, we would lose a lot of details in his acting. To me, detail is what really fleshes out a character, so if he was prevented from detailing his performance we'd lose a lot of the character.

Good to know he should be taking if off though.
 
Im actually digging the mask, though I wish it covered his bald head at least.

Stylistically its something I didnt expect Nolan to go for. Its by far the most comic book-ish element in all the movies yet, Batman aside.
 
Definitely digging the design so far. I'd totally be down if they decided to do something along the lines of gas rather than venom.

Looking forward to seeing some better shots when they're released.

What? Catwoman's current costume is basically a tight spy suit with goggles and cat ears. It's no more ridiculous than Batman's costume.

I don't understand how people can complain about costumes when we have Batman running around in one. I understand if you don't like an individual costume, but asking for everyone to be maskless kind of misses the point.
 
Can we stop with this nolan universe realism batman bullshit. It has just as many unbelievable and completely far fetched ideas as any comic book movie they have put out to do date. Now that's over with, the mask looks stupid but i'll wait until we get better images and Tom Hardy is an amazing actor so stupid mask or not he can pull this off.

edit: really need a shot with him standing to get a true idea of how the mask appears. It may be fuck awesome for all I know.

Really? Is that a rhetorical question? You make a mask like he has in the comics, done and done. With the quality of costume design Nolan has at his hands they could easily do a faithful comic book mask rendition that didn't look out of place.
