omg who cares? You think it was good score? Great. It was.

Now we can get on with our lives.
This isn't a life or death thing to me, but c'mon, that's some unnecessary bull shit right there.

Teh Hamburglar layin the smackdown.

BOO!

I think its a dumb reason, but eh what can you do.

I demand an IMAX Home™ release. 1080p projector is nice, but the movie needs a perfect IMAX translation and a home projector to match.

I want the original film reels in my house.

Wow, they called it an "Adapted Screenplay", not an original screenplay? Wonder why that is?

Probably because it's an adaptation of various storyarcs in the Batman comics (Long Halloween, TDKR, etc)

Unless I have the term adapted screenplay wrong, which is entirely plausible

What contenders are up against TDK for Best Picture and why are they considered contenders at all?

All I know is that Wall-E and In Bruges are apparently the only two major films currently released this year that are being seriously considered as major contenders for Best Picture. Most of the other films that will probably be nominated (Curious Case, Doubt, Frost/Nixon, The Wrestler) are not out yet so really, now more than ever, Dark Knight might actually have a chance at a nomination with Wall-E.

If both get one, I may just piss my pants but I think if I had to choose Dark Knight should get it since Wall-E will get Best Animated Feature anyway.

For more detail on other possible Best Picture noms and contenders, check out this article: http://www.variety.com/index.asp?la...=contenders&id=picture&articleid=VR1117993923

im pretty sure Ledger is a shoe in, everything else is up in the air. Maybe best cinematography? Even if it does get nominated for best picture..do you think it will win it?

After reading a ton of articles on the subject it does not look like its an "if" that it will be nominated, it's more of an"if" of if it will win.

My predictions for Best Picture:

The Dark Knight
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Wall-E
The Wrestler
Milk

Slumdog Millionaire is gaining a lot hype, Milk is losing a bit of it, from what I've seen. First buzz out of CCoBB isn't incredible, but we'll see what happenes when more reviews roll in.

Strangely enough I only saw this movie yesterday, it was great. What really makes Ledger's performance amazing is remembering him in anything else and trying to see how it could possibly be the same person.

One of my favorite bits had to be the criminal persuading the guard to give him the detonator then throwing it overboard, totally didn't see that coming, I was thinking it would blow their own boat up or something.

...Is there a second film called In Bruges that I'm unaware of?

Seriously. I really enjoyed In Bruges but it is in no way an oscar-worthy film. Then again that's usually what qualifies for an oscar.

Plus it was released early in the year, so no one remembers it even if it was good.

Maybe because it's based on a character that has been around for ages?

I wasn't sure how this stuff went. I mean, I know the character is clearly from a different source, but does that mean if Jurassic Park 4 was some sort of amazing character story, it'd still be an adapted screenplay? I figured TDK was original enough using established characters that it could be either.

The fact that it's using established characters makes it an adaptation, and not an entirely original work.

Oscars for Best Picture? Probably
The Dark Knight
Milk
Slumdog Millionaire
The Wrestler
Benjamin Button

Not saying that those films deserve to be there or anything. I'd be happy with any of those winning (From what I've seen of them). There is a really mixed reaction to Benjamin Button though. We'll have to see how that develops.

When will we know if TDK gets any Oscar nods? I think they should be coming up soon.

January.

They usually don't pick Oscar nominations for a given year until the year is done. =P

miyamotofreak said:
Feb I think. Why would they come up before the year ends?

Actually, I think it's mid to late January, now that the Oscars schedule was moved up to the end of February/beginning of March. Unless I'm thinking way off...

Does anyone know if the special edition soundtrack will have this in any capacity:

Dark Knight Ending Music

Does the current release of the soundtrack have anything close to that? "Like A Dog Chasing Cars", track 8, is pretty close imo.

That's already on the current soundtrack. "A Dark Knight", the final track.

"A Dark Knight" is kind of like the ending credits music, but it's not the exact same thing. The ending credits music is made up of parts from like three different tracks.

the best ending to any movie i have ever seen.

i can not wait till to see it again on blu ray.

What? I really like the movie but the whole "Dent died for our sins!" ending was meh; I thought Dent was great but once Two Face started chewing up screen time the film's quality suffered (especially the final scene with Two Face kidnapping Gordon's family and his lol worthy death). Still a great movie though

Nominations are announced on January 22nd. Strangely enough, exactly 1 year after Ledger died.

Jesus. I'd forgotten how incredible the music is. Really packs an emotional punch, especially in context.

Maybe...the final track(before the useless remixes) of the added disc is called "A Watchful Guardian". There's a "Complete Score" floating around the torrent world, but I wonder if it's the real deal. I've downloaded pseudo complete scores that were just fanmade edits of the proper soundtrack. :P
