The Demo's Thread

I like free stuff. I especially like free stuff that rocks and then makes me want to buy the full game.

Post Demos for games you like here.

Could be demo's for upcoming games or ones already released.

Bloodborne in the old school FF Adventure (Mana) Game Boy format.

Still need to try this one myself. Looks cool though.

Side scrolling action rpg. The section thats the start of the game is kinda meh but there's some pretty fun combat arena stuff as well that you can do.

Anime Parasite Eve from the devs of Frontier Hunter (anime Bloodstained).

Zelda ALttP inspired. Been a while since I tried it but it's still on my wishlist so I guess I enjoyed it.

Demo discs were the shit 30 years ago

god damn GIF

Luckily Steam has this feature built in so it will literally notify you if there's a demo available for a game you've wishlisted.

For all the shit that S-E management is at least you need to appreciate they almost always release demo version of their games - demos that are extensive and progress carries over nicely to the full game.

I actually have a list of games that all have demos that I want to try:

Dragon Quest XI
Tainted Grail
Resident Evil IV Remake
Sonic Racing
Pragmata
Stellar Blade
Menace
Eriksholm

Single player, offline Tarkov-like, polished to a mirror sheen. Not round based, just extraction loot mechanics for a fairly simple semi open world SP FPS. One man dev team, total attention to detail sperg. Crazy suspense levels are built in this one. Feels like a survival horror game to play at times. Shits on Tarkov PvE from high elevation.

Demo is most of the whole game.

I would love it if someone made a demo blu-ray or dvd. That would be cool.

Just pack a dvd full of old game demos or indie games. PC GAMER should make some retro issues that do that.

Really, Haunted PS1 has the right idea. Just make an app that acts like it is an old demo disc. That would be cool. Put demos and videos in it.

I posted this in the Picross community thread, but figured I'd give it a shout-out here too since the demo is live

This is a roguelike Picross game. Playing Picross with timers and passive abilities / power ups is a ton of fun, I imagine I'll be playing this game a lot.

I remember playing the Just Cause 2 demo for like 20 hours, just playing it over and over and over again. I've never done that with any other game demo.

If anyone has a hankering for some FEAR. Both of these slap very hard. Trepang2 got a sword DLC and it's bursting with content.

Just completed the Super Meat Boy 3D demo. Really enjoyed it. The devs are super receptive to feedback so be sure to fill out the survey as well. Can't wait to pick this one up.

For already out demos...

I really miss those days. Internet demo downloads just don't hit the same.
I was so hyped for MGS2 that I bought the zoe game just for that. After all, I really liked the game despite my number one interest being the demo.

I actually never needed to buy ZoE for mine. Electronics Boutique (now GAME) here in the UK had a bunch of them loose out of the cases that they gave away for free. Finally played ZoE when the PS3 collection released. Great game.

Just finished this demo and it was sick. The game is like Tony hawk meets Jet Set Radio but with trains

Controls have a bit of a learning curve but once they click, you can pull off almost full stage combos by linking jump tricks with manuals, grinds etc.

Totaly nails the Sega Dreamcast-era game design.
