The Division - 15 minutes of new gameplay

Does the main character speak at all? Few previews I saw it seemed odd that someone was talking over the comm and the player's character doesn't seem to react or acknowledge it in any way. This probably doesn't diminish the gameplay, but I suppose the mute protagonist is wearing thin on me nowadays.

MC is silent, he is just your avatar in the world.

I really wish Youtube videos would expire so that when I go watch a Division video it IS NOT FROM FUCKING LAST YEAR! .....unless its E3 video. These fanmade shit videos can fark off and die in a little corner alone.

Trying to keep my eyes open this week for some key giveaways so couple of friends can join in on the PC beta, because I'm worried that it will affect my feelings if I try playing it alone.

Just found this on reddit earlier..

"There is a subreddit called Dark Zone Sentinels who's goal is to patrol and support players in the DZ against rogue agents. They are mobilizing on all three platforms."

Interesting, player-made factions. I believe there'll be the opposing one as well. Rogue players teaming up together, is it possible?

I wish there's gonna be cosmetic gear that looks "rogueish"

I don't see with 24 player random instancing how this would work that well to be honest. I'll just be dunking on randoms in Dark Zone all day anyway, I don't care if groups come after me.

Don't see how they gonna make this work.
Also it's a witch hunt at best. Idk.

Oh there defo gonna be some crazy cosmetics seeing as there is gonna be a cash shop

I mean.. if a player faction such as Dark Zone Sentinels gets big enough they could sort of patrol... but there's really no way to identify them in the DZ since there's no current Clan system. Beyond that there's also the accidental flagging which is... problematic for them. And of course people claiming to be them to troll people.. lot's of issues with it.

I wonder if clan support is something they'll be able to add at a later stage.

It would be pretty neat to form a clan and patrol the streets together.

Well, I don't see this working, if you get downed by a Rogue agent, they take your stuff so the patrol is just gonna end taking it back for themselves (unless they let you kill them to get your loot back but that seems way too complicated).

Well the problem is that the theme is that The Division is technically small. So large clans (which would be inevitable) doesn't suit that.

Technically it doesn't work though they could (and probably should) just ignore that aspect.

Well the problems with clans is that it clashes with the story of (us) being a part of the gov last defense.

Hardly rogues if they have an organized team.

Haha yeah I didn't mean patrolling the streets with 30 people, my wording wasn't entirely clear. I meant more like a community you can create, clan tags, perhaps trading of sorts. I don't know, something to bind players together.

Not really required. You spawn in 10 seconds after death. Losing your gear doesn't feel bad.......just annoying. This isn't DayZ where you lose everything. The dark zone doesn't feel intense......it's rather quite boring.

If you attack someone whose rogue you don't go rogue yourself (unless I'm misunderstanding what you said)

Did you get in early or something?

But presumably the level of distress is closely linked to how much you want the gear?

Apologies if you played Destiny, or another loot game a lot, but watch some Gjallarhorn reaction videos on youtube to see how excited people get for loot....then imagine how hard they will rage quit when some smart ass gaffer takes it off with them 20 seconds left on their evac timer :-)

Do you think this has something to do with the fact that nothing you earn you keep at the end of the day due to it being a test?

I can see that farming for a specific attachment type would help. You are bound to get nervous when the item drops and then you need to make it out alive with it.

One thing I'm confused about is if you buy something from a dark zone vendor, do you still have to extract it? That would be frustrating as all hell if you bought a weapon and were killed while trying to extract it. I hope it just gets sent from the vendor to your base or something.

Nope, you don't.

Quick question for you guys, I was picking up the Humble Bundle anyway so bought in for beta access - signed up on the beta page with my uplay account, but I never received an e-mail notification (the steps for signing up state that one will be sent).

So it's getting close to the day, just wanted to check if anybody else was in the same situation? Went back to double check that it had worked but it stated the code was invalid.

Items you buy from Dark Zone vendors don't have to be extracted....you just need the correct amount of Dark Zone credits and Dark Zone rank at purchase....the Dark Zone rank requirement is for purchase only so if you buy an item then lose some of your rank you can still use it

I've been talking to Grief and I asked if it was okay to take over the OT for the Beta.

I'll start working on it right now, unless someone else has already asked/called for it?

Cool, thanks for the explanation.

We should compile a list of Gaffers in the beta so we can distinguish between people we attempt to shoot at in the Dark Zone and people we establish our jumping jack dominance over in the Dark Zone

Can I have an assassins creed get up , or watch dogs coat/ cap

Ooo give me Sam fisher backpack

Awe yeah
Those would be cool items in vanity shop
