make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
So I guess it's a bad idea to go into the dark zone alone?
As we near the end of beta DZ is getting silly. Unfortunately I think the people who are getting all this practice will carry over these tactics to retail. It's easier to take stuff from solo players than earn it from NPCs.

Fuck, I got my download code from the waiting list 20 minutes ago.
Downloading.

Is there anyone from Brazil playing it? I'd love to have some games once it is downloaded with GAF.

Earlier someone said there was a high level chest or something in the Hospital level (contaminated area)...how do you get to it?...I never saw a door or anything to even get to that area

Can someone tell me what the fuck killed me here? Because I have absolutely no idea.

Apparently there has been a glitch where some people fast travel to their friend right before they get into the dark zone (like the last chance right at the gate) and then they get invincibility and invisibility. I read it on the subreddit.

I forgot where I read the comment though (probably got deleted to prevent replication).

At first, I thought that this was just a demo to let ppl play it to see if they like it or not, but after the last few hours, IF they told us that this was an Alpha-test software, I would believe it. Alot of work/netcode needs to be done before this game is released.

I got invisible today too, but I didn't do anything unusual. Actually I just died and spawned in the safe room, then nobody was able to see me.

Well right now, obviously lev 8 is the max level in the DZ. In the full game I imagine there will be tiers of DZ, which should ease the problem. But you'll still run into the same problem at endgame with 'fresh' max level players vs. fully geared max level players. But if good gear is relatively easy to obtain outside the DZ, then that would work too.

I am quite concerned about twinks though. If the DZ doesn't level you up while you're in there, in theory you could fully gear up a player at one of the lower tiers and just absolutely terrorize people. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened in the lowest tier, that's how it worked out back in WoW.

But just talking about the beta, yeah you're fucked if you don't already have sweet loots.

I was thinking the same thing. The DZ level increases as you move north but what's to stop high/max level players from heading south and messing with low level players?

I imagine that "super rogues" are going to be annoying as hell for awhile. The question is will there be enough max level "good guys" to balance them out.

Ubi, please fix all the exploits.

DZ can be great fun, taking on a group of Rogues at a distance with my rifle and scope is superb.

And if I fancy going rogue, I can snipe at people extracting.

It is plausible to survive as a solo player providing you pick your moments. Even if you fancy going rogue for a little while.

I love how you can flip between going rogue and just playing the game. If you fancy your chances, is it worth the rogue status?

Do you join in with others for the manhunt?

Or do you just play it cool and stay out of trouble?

So many ways to play the game and have fun.

Except when you get the invisible killathon, people farming and exploiting the beta map/safe house nonsense, and that area with one ladder where Rogue groups camp. Frustrating!

OK, the beta map restriction will be gone. But the other glitches need sorting.

I think Ubi could be on to a solid winner here if they can iron out the kinks. The DZ, if balanced right, is great and something fresh to this type of game.

I think I'll wait this one out until retail has been out a few days at the very least.

The contaminated area requires you to have a level 2 gask mask. No idea how to get one. It's right before the room where we meet the doctor.

Nah all you need to do is enter/leave safe zones over and over again and you will be invisible at random intervals. I had it happen to me from normal play on Friday and since then it's happened to the people I play with a few times.

When you take elevator it's door on left side wall and before entering restaurant area where doctors are, blue lights pointed at it. You need lockpicks to open it.

Edit: Also like said above it's contaminated level 2 area. You just run in at full speed, pop that chest open and loot into pockets asap. Then you just die and respawn from checkpoint.

You don't have to have a level 2 filter, you have just enough time to run straight to the chest and grab the loot before you die

Yeah I'm pretty sure they have improved the netcode greatly from then. This is probably like barely beta. Here's hoping they iron everything out before launch.

That's really weird. At least they have acknowledged it as a glitch on the official forums.

Dang it's that reproducible? Crazy. I'm confident that they are taking care of it or have fixed it in their final build by now.

Played a few hours with my friends today, and while we initially had some fun, we ended up submitting refund requests to Steam. Outside of the dark zone, the game appears to be as bog standard as a game can get. Once you're in the dark zone, there are some pretty interesting ideas, but they don't feel like they're fleshed out enough, and it quickly gets repetitive.

Not show the rogues exact location in the HUD would be nice.

More of a cat and mouse hunt rather than a "chase the fuckers down everyone mob"

I've seen that suggestion and I honestly don't like it. It would incentivize DZ camping even moreso as people would just kill then run a predesignated route to a hiding spot. I'd say that the best option would be to get rid of the timer reset/freeze altogether. You would still gain a Rogue level for every kill, up to a max amount of time.

So say, the system will flag you Rogue initially and give you the short timer. Upon the kill, you get a flat minute added on top of whatever the previous timer was at. And so on each time you kill up to you hit max Rogue level. From that point on you can't accrue any additional minutes until your timer ends and your Rogue level is cleared. It would still allow people to hunt down high level Rogues but also give those Rogues the ability to actually pick their spots and engage in gunfights without having to worry about the gunfight being virtually endless until they die.

Earlier someone said there was a high level chest or something in the Hospital level (contaminated area)...how do you get to it?...I never saw a door or anything to even get to that area

It's on the left side once you come out of the Elevator. The NPC on your Coms will mention that you have to pass near an infection quarantine. The door to the quarantine leads to the chest but you have to have a Lock Pick to open that door.

I did survive, max rank rogue after 5-7 minutes I only got 777 DZ credits. Not impressed.

That's exactly how much I got too with manhunt on me. It's not worth it at all.

I see. Never tried it, tbh. And people seem to always skip the area.
What's in the chest? Better than blue stuff?

I got a blue level 8 TI-RANT attachment out of it. I forgot what the other item was since I sold it, but it was a blue mask piece.

Nice to see the PS4 version maintain its framerate without screen tearing even in the Dark Zone with a good number of players on the screen.

When I checked, it was just blue stuff. I was max level also... sooo idk if anyone else has had better luck.

It gives level 8 blue when doing mission on hard.

I see, so it's just a bonus loot from doing a hard mission? Well, at least that's quite nice. Better than nothing.

Anyway, is there any rumors going around behind the hardest missions and their loot? I hope there'll be at least a chance to get legendary gear and crafting materials from them. I believe those missions will be the main pve endgame activities, especially for those who are not huge fans of Dark Zones.

Ok, now I think I'm done all the PvE quests, the last few were really easy after I picked up a carbine that one or two shotted everything lol

Need some help. Twice in the dark zone I have stumbled into an area with a gate and then a bunch of flame throwing yellow difficulty NPCS...

For the life of me, I can't find them anymore. Does anyone know where on the map these guys are?

Is there more than 1 main quest in the beta? I opened the medic which was the first quest I think, the next quest said go to the dark zone. I did that but nothing questy was there and no quest updated.

The only flame throwing NPC's I ran into was right outside of the first DZ checkpoint. You go down the first subway entrance you find and a named is down there along with a couple of others. That is of course if they have respawned from others killing them.

That is the only one and some side mission. That is it, other than just doing the hospital quest over and over on harder or heading into DZ zone for random PvP encounters.

Northwestmost corner of the playable DZ when looking at the map, at least I assume North is up in that thing.

is selling your discarded inventory the only way to make $$ in the game?...unlike the majority of other Ubisoft games $$ seems hard to come by making weapon/gear purchase decisions tough as you can't just buy everything

You receive credits when completing missions on Hard (not sure about Normal). One of the missions at level 20 gives almost 5000 credits as a reward.

I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

Guys before you write your criticisms, ask yourself if the criticism is more about the limited nature of beta or with the game as a whole.

For example, 777 dz credits for surviving is a ton for what's being sold in the dz. That's 2-3 new pieces of equipment.

It won't be much in a higher level zone, but the amounts will likely increase.

Selling gear is fastest way to make monies. You get some pathetic amounts from some enemies and loot bags. At least in beta there isn't anything worth of purchasing on vendors and crafting is disabled so what you do with useless loot is... whatever :D

In release I will try out my normal RPG leveling up scheme. When leveling up and finding better gear equip that, break old gear into crafting component and even if vendor was to sell better gear than e.g. rewards from last quest don't purchase anything. This way I should get decent amount of moneys along with metric ton of crafting materials for max level. If crafting mats are overflowing then even craft some stuff during leveling up.
