I'm just curious about the Destiny folks, did you like this game (the little that was accessible)? Was it what you expected? Did it fall short? Did it exceed expectations? Is this the game that will replace Destiny for you? Why or why not?
I remember seeing a ton of Destiny-GAF before beta release, so I'm just personally curious about your status post beta.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll wait to see if they get some good anti-cheat stuff in there. I played most of my dark zone stuff on the PS4 so I didn't get to experience the rampant cheating that seems to be getting reported.
The beta was good. Smooth, great visuals, good gunplay.
The full game? We don't know yet. I'm optimistic though.
But we don't know about end game, enemy variety, replayability, etc.
You're not bad, these people have double your DPS and health. They're basically twinks just trolling because they have nothing better to do and some people get real satisfaction griefing without repercussion. Hopefully most of it is just temporary beta behavior, but I suspect this community will be frigging toxic. I wonder if Massive realizes how gross people are. Or maybe that's their fetish. lol. Idk.
Day 1. Even with the Douche Zone at maximum.
I played almost exclusively on Xbox and racked up over 3 days worth of playtime. Luckily all we had on Xbox was the invisibility glitch and yet I still got attack over 16 times in one session.I played the beta 10 hours and didn't see anyone cheat once. Not saying it's not something that needs to be addressed before launch, but it was hardly rampant.
is this game 1080p on ps4?
Dayum, nice job![]()
I'm feeling the absence already.
I really hope there is an option to swap 'O' and 'X' on consoles(PS4). Every game, off the top of my head, has these the other way around even their other recent shooter(R6) has X as Vault/Jump, and O as Crouch. Yet in the Division these are swapped, and make you do the exact opposite of what you'd want to do. Gets me killed all the time. Why Ubi?!
I wrote a small article about why I loved The Division and why, for the same reasons, I hate Destiny. Thought I'd post it here.

I've been crying about Destiny's lack of matchmaking for various modes including the story missions for a long time now so I agree, The Division does it way better. You can matchmake for virtually any activity which is awesome.
I think the Base of Operations should have been a social hub tbh. Especially since you can't (at least in the beta) fast travel to Camp Hudson.

You most certainly could.
Uh you could fast travel to it

Late response: I consider myself "Destiny folks" (beta, 550 hours in retail on all expansions). My impressions:
- I really enjoyed it, and will definitely be picking it up on release regardless of if my Destiny group does.
- It's preeeeety close to what I expected; it didn't exceed my expectations, except for maybe what they were able to squeeze out of the PS4 for graphics given all the other systems in the game.
- I'll need to wait and see how retail feels to determine if it can replace Destiny for any length of time. As is, I'm anticipating it being my side piece while Destiny gets its shit together, at which point it can call me.
Some qualifiers:
- in my opinion Destiny and Division flip-flop "rpg-ness" and "gameplay". Destiny is an FPS with mmo/rpg-lite elements. Division really came off to me like an RPG that happens to use TPS/cover as its combat.
- based on the bullet, above, people who prioritize gameplay/shooting may not like Division. Your skill is definitely far less important than your stats in Division.
- I play these games to 1) play a social game with pals on a regular basis 2) have fun exploring, getting loot, seeing my character grow/change, have stories about stuff that happened while playing with the group.
- Based on these priorities, I think Division will be at least a good placeholder ((assuming my Destiny team ends up playing) until Destiny's next major content drop. Whether it REPLACES Destiny depends on a few things: how much content there is in the retail release, what the actual plan for additional content ends up being, what Destiny ends up doing. If Destiny's next major release ends up being "Destiny 2", has good improvements, and/or has TTK-level content, I'll PROBABLY go back there. Division would have to pull a hell of a trick out of its hat to prevent that.
- On an ongoing basis, I expect Division to be the thing to do when I'm bored or burned out with Destiny.
TH was a little more about having a place you had to defend from the enemies, not roaming around bumping into dudes. Either way, numbers fly off and loot falls out! Perfect!

Huh, weird. When I looked there was no option, so I ran like a mile to it. Now I feel dumb.
I felt that The Division had much more in common with Diablo 3 (in terms of loot and how it works with your stats) then Destiny.
I agree with this.
You know a side thought popped in. Would it be cool if there was 3 type of servers available in this game?
1) All PVE, totally remove the dark zone aspect
2) The current plan, a mix of PVE areas and DZ areas
3) All DZ, all the time, the entire map runs as its a DZ.
I want to believe, but I Find 6 person content much more likely. I assume when you do a "raid" the group window is shifted to the top portion with 5 individual players taking up each row.The idea of 20 agent content makes me salivate.
Oh shit at the dead will rise graffiti on that pic last page. It's coming!
You could turn everything off if I'm not mistaken.I don't remember all UI settings in PC version, were we able to hide absolutely everything? Including WP and party member markers from the edges of the screen?
Wtf beta is over.
Don't feel like playing anything else![]()

I am pretty sure I fast traveled to Hudson on PC several times.
