Debating whether I should get this for PC or PS4. My PC is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I7 2600k/780 Ti

Not sure what kind of performance I'll get with that. Didn't play the beta so...

Do you have a group of friends on PC ? With a 780ti it's possible to achieve 60fps average at 1080p high settings.

I'm running the game on a similar setup (3570k, 16gb, 970) and I can play on the ultra preset, getting 40 fps on average (feels pretty nice, which is strange considering that other Ubi games don't feel good at all for me if I play them at less than 60)
Played the beta on PS4 and the framerate difference was noticeable for me, as were the graphics being on lower quality presets.

I'm on a 760 playing on default settings (mix of medium, high and ultra for particle detail) and i'm at consistent 30fps. Gonna try to play around and get it up to 60fps today, do we know what the heavy hitters are in regards to performance?

I have a similar setup to yours (slightly better CPU). Have you been able to achieve steady 60fps turning down a few settings from the ULTRA base?

Getting a really weird issue where the game doesn't display anything but the cursor. I tried it last night using the latest Geforce driver and it ran flawlessly but this morning it would just display a black screen with a cursor. I reverted to the previous driver version and it ran fine again but any subsequent launches of the client would cause this issue. Any solutions?

Can someone who was able to perceive the poor frame pacing during open beta confirm if it's been fixed in the final release?

This is all I need to know before I purchase. I appreciate it.

I haven't played much yet, but in the hour or so of playing last night this issue seemed significantly improved. Smaller framerate dips were far less perceptible and the game seemed smoother overall. I noticed the frame pacing issues constantly in both betas.

When you start up the game and are only getting a black screen with cursor, hit ALT + ENTER. If that doesn't work I just turned off my computer while it happened, turned it back on, started the game and all was fine. This was done on the newest drivers.

I've got that card and the game ran and looked better than PS4 - and I was running at 1440p too, your GPU is easily two and a half times the power of a PS4. The only draw back really is your GPU buffer at 3 Gigs, but even at 1440p it's seldom been an issue for me.

I couldn't ultra the game at 1440p, but high settings got a 50-60 FPS average that felt good. At 1080p you should achieve stable 60 FPS with similar settings.

Thank you VERY much. I was literally waiting for just a single confirmation before buying. I greatly appreciate your reply.

No problem. It annoyed the shit out of me during the betas and made the game seem like it was running at 30 fps when it was running anywhere below 60.

Some of these questions make me wonder if people are just fucking around.
I can't think of a single game that doesn't run and look better on that PC spec than a PS4.

Something is clearly not going well here. These UHD results are weird, and on a general situation, SLI scaling is awful.

I5 2500k@ 4.0 ghz

8gb ram 1600 mhz

Only got about 30 min this morning, but with the graphics set to high preset I was getting a locked 60fps on the benchmark and in game.

I bumped AO to hbao+ and didn't see any affect on the 60fps lock, will test more to see what else I can increase.

The game looks gorgeous on High. They definitely did something since the beta, it's cleaner and there seems to be more objects on the streets. Also seems like colors and brightness / gamma were improved.

Beautiful game and for me runs great so far.

What is weird about the UHD results? The VRAM appears to be causing the game to stutter unless you have more than 4GB.

And why would I want them?
Has Nvidia fixed the broken drivers from yesterday yet?

Yeah, at least for me. I installed it this morning and have had zero issues.

I'm running this on a 970 and am getting a rock solid 60 FPS with the following settings:

V-sync - Off (I have it turned on through the Nvidia control panel)
Frame Rate Limit - 60 FPS
Shadow Quality - Nvidia PCSS+
Shadow Resolution - High
Spot shadow count - High
Spot shadow resolution - High
Contact shadows - All high
Post FX AA - SMAA 1X Ultra
Temporal AA - Supersampling
Sharpen image - 70%
Particle detail - Ultra
Enable wind affected snow - Yes
Anisotropic Filtering - 16x
Paralax mapping - High
Ambient Occlusion - Nvidia HBAO+
Depth of Field - High
Object Detail - 92%
Extra steaming distance - 90%
Chromatic aberration - No
Lens Flare - Yes
Vignette effect - Yes

It looks fucking amazing, but any suggestions to see if I can get this game to look even more amazing are certainly welcome :)

At 1080p:

I don't know how you get a rock solid 60fps.

I get 45-50fps

GTX 970 MSI
i5 6600k
16GB DDR4 ram 2400Mhz.

4K performance is all over the place. It'll go from a nice and steady 78fps (V-Sync Off, obviously),to 30 fps or lower at the drop of a hat. I'm currently running 4X Titan SLI.

I'm going to be playing this on my ROG SWIFT PG279Q. I've never taken advantage of this monitor yet so I can't wait to try it out.

Not sure if I can pull off 144Hz. So far when I played I was getting about 50 FPS in the very first area when you run to the Safe Zone so I don't think it's working or using GSYNC.

I'm running on a single 980 Ti.

Is it safe to download the new Nvidia drivers?

I downloaded the Beta version,164.51 (came from 162.00) and so far so good. It's risky though. I haven't re-opened The Division since I downloaded it yet. I want to get the settings correct first.

I can't really tell when a game uses GSYNC :\

I would have thought I can get higher FPS but I'm not familiar with this stuff at all, unfortunately. Still trying to learn.

PSA: TURN OFF IN GAME V-SYNC OR GSYNC WON'T WORK. Also, the light at the bottom of the monitor will be red when GSYNC is on. That's how you know it's working. Also, go into the Nvidia control panel and make sure GSYNC is selected under 'Monitor Technology' to enable it.

GSYNC doesn't affect the frames. I have the same monitor - it'll still drop to 50FPS, it's just that the drop won't be as jarring as it would normally. Before, I'd glance up at the FPS counter every time a game stopped being exactly 60FPS. Now, with GSYNC, I tend not to notice unless it drops to 45.

You won't get 144hz even with a 980ti at 1080 unless you set everything to low, maybe medium.

Is the light Red even when not playing games?

Sometimes it's white all the time even when playing games but lately it's been red no matter if I'm playing a game or not.

I would have assumed it'll be off when not playing and on when playing.

Thanks for the info!

Having weird issues with GTX980 SLI / i7 4790 on Max / 1080p

VRAM is full very quickly and causes stutter....
I just turned shadows down from Nvidia PCSS/HFTS to High to see of that does anything.

I'm running a 970/4460 and getting a really smooth, solid 60fps in 95% of the content I've seen. However, in big firefights (with npc allies or player allies) I get drops to 45-50 fps which somehow simultaneously cause me to have nasty input latency. My character no longer moves properly with keyboard input and it feels like about half of my input is being lost. It's playable but really unenjoyable as it totally screws up my muscle memory/timing from the other 95% of the content I play. Why would movement input be tied to fps, are they reading input in onframe or something. Anyone else seeing this or something similar? I have vsync disabled and am running at 1080p, a drop from 60-50fps shouldn't cause anywhere near this much input latency/loss.

So last night the game worked fine but today all I get is a black screen when I boot the game. I also get a "Failed to synchronize achievements with the cloud" thing when I boot the game. And then when the game loads it's just black. I'm on drivers 362.00.

I don't get it. I can't even hold 60 FPS on Low settings preset. I've tried everything, from verifying files to OC my card, but it just doesn't work.

I'm on the beta driver Nvidia released today.

Use PrecisionX or Afterburner to see your CPU/GPU utilization. It sounds like something is limiting your hardware from being properly utilized, driver/software problem maybe? You checked other performance intensive games to verify it's just the division running poorly?

My GPU is stuck at 99% all the time while ingame...it would seem there is a problem over there, as my CPU stays around 45-50. Though I don't know what software could be causing these issues.

Try running the in-game benchmark, it will tell you the average gpu/cpu utilization over the entire benchmark. I ran it on geforce optimal settings with a similar setup and was sitting right around ~70 for both.

https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/43nldo/putting_graphics_on_low_gives_99_gpu_load/?

Sounds like running on low might actually be worse for cpu/gpu balance?

The nvidia graphics guide is awesome. There are definitely some settings that can be bumped up with little to no perf impact. There are also some nice "future" settings that will be nice added effects to enable a few years from now, but are super perf intensive right now. It'd a good mix.

I think its pretty safe to say that most configurations running a gtx 970 should get 60fps locked at 1080p on high settings, which look pretty awesome. I'm able to bump a few settings up like hbao+ and maintain the 60fps lock. Pretty happy about it.

Is it running at a normal clock? I've had issues with a driver crash where it technically works but runs at like half speed and so it'll run my card at 99 percent but at like 600hz so nothing runs well.

Reboot fixes it.

So after reading Andy's guide, I think I'll be maxing everything out @ 1440P with the following exceptions:

Particle details: High
Contact shadows: All Low
Depth of Field: Medium
Lens flare: Off
Particle detail: High
Shadow Quality: High
Temporal Anti-Aliasing: Supersampling
Volumetric Fog: High or Medium

980 Ti @ 1300mhz core / i7 4790k @ 4.7GHz / 16GB RAM / 1TB SSD

Hoping to average in the 70s/80s for FPS, and hopefully never drop below 60. Think it's doable?
