The Division PC performance thread

Running this on the Alpha.

Getting between 40-45 fps with medium - high settings. Occasional dips to 30 but it doesn't interfere with gameplay and happens rarely.

It is quite a beautiful game that you can tweak to get perfectly serviceable performance without compromising the IQ.

Were there any appreciable changes from the beta to release? There's a release benchmark available here:

I hava a GIGABYTE GTX 980 4G + i7 6700 and it's more 30 FPS than 60 FPS when I push everything. :(
Time to downgrade some options.

How can I do this? The entire app hard locks instantly.

Open uPlay up, click the top left 3 lines on the uPlay window, click settings, near the top under general there is a tick box that says "enable in-game overlay..." untick the box.

If you bought it through Steam, you have to find your uPlay folder.

UPLAY! cant even log in

UPLAY!

This is what I get too. No playing tonight. At this point, it's just classic Ubi, not even surprised.

In the time I was able to play it, I was getting some weird ghosting effect in my game, most noticeable when turning or in cutscenes. Seems to be tied to temporal AA somehow, but can't get it to go away.

Is there a nvidia performance guide for this yet?

I'm intrigued about this new shadow option.

Hoping for decent performance/visuals when I get to play..

i5 2500k @ 4.6
980ti
16gb ram
1440p @ 96hz

Anybody got anything similar and has tried it? Won't be able to test for another 14 hours.

The game launches to a black screen, and the system locks up shortly after whenever an Xbox One wireless controller is connected. Can't speak for the performance yet as I never got past the character creation screen before the servers went down.

Same.
I purchased the game via G2A for a Steam Key, and when launching the game (likely due to being launched simultaneously from Steam) crashes my system.
The black screen can't be tabbed out of, nor closed via Task Manager, because no windows or overlays even pop up when prompted.

Awesome.

EDIT: Apparently, Alt + Enter then adjusting your screen resolution within the game allows for a temporary workaround, because it puts the game into Windowed Mode.

For a 970 and a 3440x1440 monitor, do you think native res + lower details would be better than high settings and running 2560x1080 scaled up?

Ok to play at 30fps (probably necessary anyway)

How many different shadow settings!?

Think I'll stick with the auto settings until we get a nice nvidia breakdown of which options to play with

Nvidia Shadows destroys fps, literally, the new setting after PCSS is unplayable at 1440p on a 980ti since it drops below 30 fps alot of times.

I recommend setting High for shadow quality.

Playing with everything maxed out (shadows on high though). Well, not exactly "playing," just started out and messed around with the tutorial a bit before I had to head to work. But just wanted to say that the game looks NOTHING like the initial trailers. I was hoping to be blown away by crazy graphics. Quite disappointed. Then again it is Ubisoft so I should be used to this by now...

I can definitely see slight improvements over the beta performance. Where I got some drops to the mid 50fps mark at ultra in the beta, now I'm getting solid 60fps.
Haven't ventured into the dark zone yet. Will see how the performance hold up in a big firefight with multiple agents and NPCs.

Overall a very gorgeous game. The graphics really pull you in and help setting the atmosphere. Enjoying the hell out of it :)

Yep, Alt+Enter for windowed mode, then borderless window, and then finally fullscreen. It works, but having to go through the entire process every time I launch the game is starting to get old. Also, exiting the game while the X1 controller is connected causes the mouse to beep as I move it around. Though, I'd wager this last bug has to do with one of the more recent Windows 10 updates, and not the game itself.

As far as performance goes, I'm getting a solid 1080p60 at Ultra settings (with added SMAA T1x Ultra and HBAO+) on a Titan X @ 1340Mhz, and 5820K @ 4.5Ghz.

Anyone else getting random crashes to Desktop?

Had no issues at all during beta, nothing in my setup has changed. Happens all the time, so frustrating.

Wondering if it's the latest driver.

Anyone know how accurate the benchmark is compared to actually playing? Been screwing around with settings all night and using that to gauge it. Getting an inconsistent 50 to 60 at 1440 on a 980ti + i7-6700. Moments like these tempt me to crossfire

With my Titan X SLI + 5960X @ 4.5GHz, I'm managing to get roughly 90fps (with indoor and concealed areas showing more than 100fps) on average at 1440p, with everything maxed out with the exception of the shadows.

This game is surprisingly well-optimized, and definitely an improvement over the beta(s).

Still eagerly awaiting an NVIDIA Performance Guide though...

pretty sure this isnt a case of the beta just not being optimized for nvidia

More likely that Nvidia has already shifted engineer focus on what comes next.

The 9XX class of videocards have already sold enough, this year the market will move on a different field, so drivers and optimizations effort are already being redirected elsewhere.

Losing to ATI right now isn't a big deal for them.

980 ti, healthy overclock
4790k
16gb
SSD

Everything maxed, sans most post processing options, I get 75+ fps at 1080p. 1440p hovers around 50-60 fps, however the frametime fluctuates a bit too much for me to consider it comfortable.

Go for 1080p or cap @ 30 for 1440p. The frame pacing just isn't up to snuff at QHD.

Or drop PCSS and you'll be fine.

So I'm going to assume I've go no hope of maintaining 60 FPS @ 1440p with a 780ti (without taking everything to low?)

Might just go straight into 1080p

I would totally think it's possible at medium settings with all volumetric effects off. The 780 ti is still a great card!

Thanks, I'll have a play around. It is overclocked too, but from what little I played of the beta I remember it fluctuated quite a bit.

Problem is, I want all the graphics! Can't wait to finish work and start playing tonight....

The bolded part is nice to hear, I had some weird framerate drops in the beta and was generally underwhelmed with the performance on my 980 Ti. If i get the game I hope it runs better, but I'm also a bit scared since it heated up my CPU for some reason. At times when playing the beta it was running at 80-85C.

def not. your card is equal to a 7970 in this game. you can avg about 60 with drops at 1080p with the high preset
