The E3 '08 Sony Prediction and Discussion Thread

Must resist any kind of hype now... as always with Sony, you're left with a sour taste in your mouth if you expect too much. But I sincerely hope something cool will be shown. :D

He works at Zipper Int. (creators of SOCOM) so I'm sure he knows a thing or two about what SCEA will be showing at E3.

oooooh so no. 5 is Zipper's new game. Awesome cannot wait to see that.

I hope the BBC's "speechless" game from SCEE will be there. Dying to know what it is, tho that might be one of their big E3 09 reveals :p

Whoops, the guy never says jaw dropping. However, he does say...

What was interesting about that was that soon after, EGM posted a rumour about a "stunning" game from Sony Liverpool called "The Protector" so maybe they knew something.... but then it is EGM :p

Am I the only one that doesn't really care about Heavy Rain?

The E3 2006 trailer did nothing for me, and honestly, the face tech demo wasn't anything too special either after playing MGS4 and Uncharted.

Why should I be hyped for this game?

I won't care about it until they actually show anything outside of a tech demo.

Outside of F1 (released long ago) and WipeOut HD, Liverpool has been incredibly quiet for the last 2 years...

For InFamous I hope they show that big boss in the trailer.
Same. I hope there are more giant monsters like that. That's something I haven't seen in any open world game.

Also bear in mind...

We’re beyond excited, and as you make your way down this list, you will be too. Keep in mind that the games listed in the coverage below are actual demos, not simple previews or teaser trailers. That’s how we roll.

is SE having a press conference?
will we be able to watch it?
i'm thinking that's a stupid question
Yes.
Maybe, Gametrailers has it listed on their calendar. Last years was transmited (not sure if it was real time) but they didn't allow the trailers to be recorded.
Nope.

Opus Angelorum said:
I just hope it retains the dark and gritty atmosphere seen in the initial trailer, it needs to distinguish itself.

Yeah I hope they keep the original atmosphere as well. InFamous grabbed my attention because of its dark atmosphere.

I'm dragging our dev kits over for rehearsal today... so I shouldn't make any predictions afterwards. :lol

:O
Can you give us a hint on what we'll see from Resistance 2? Will you be showing co-op, multiplayer, will it be playable for all attending? Spill it! Please! :l

I hope you know you've got me more hyped up for Resistance 2 than anything else at E3 this year, by far. Damn you!

i want a team saru game for the triple (possibly an ape escape next-gen), they've been silent till now.

btw, my prediction:

- dc universe online showed
- the agency showed and demoed
- team saru game (i hope) announced
- team ico game for psn showed
- resistance 2 demoed and beta announced
- killzone 2 demoed
- quest for booty showed and demoed
- white knight chroncicles demoed
- ff13 showed
- mirror's edge demoed and timed exclusive
- fallout 3 demoed and timed exclusive
- team liverpool game showed
- infamous showed and demoed
- gow3 teased and hyped
- ff7 remake announced ( :lol )
- team london game showed
- zipper game showed
- party game from london studio showed and demoed
- psn title from tarsier studios showed (the ones behind city of metronome)
- team ninja game announced exclusively for ps3
- tekken 6 showed
- nobi nobi boy for psn showed
- teaser trailers from naughty dog and incognito
- videoservice and blah blah blah (i'm in europe so i'll get screwed on this :p )
- motorstorm 2 demoed
- litle big planet demoed
- socom demoed

am i asking a bit too much?

is there a chance we'll get to see naughty dog's newest project ? I take it they're having a small team on the side working on the PSN ratchet, right ?

Already announced title with little info? Wipeout HD, R2 and that ratchet psn game. Or maybe FFXIII and that Shiroshiki (level 5) rpg? Naah, Japanese developers are too ant-socials with western countries :(

Does anyone expect there to be any major PSP news? I've been thinking about getting one for a while now and Phantasy Star Portable has me ready to pull my debit card out and make a purchase. Maybe they'll finally bring over some of the other colors.

How has the previous years been when it comes to Sony and pre-events? More pieces of news seem to have leaked from the MS and Nintendo camps than Sony, and I don't know how to take it: have Sony always been this secretive before events, or should I/we take the silence as a bad thing?

I would take the "silence" as a good thing; we know of many projects in development, but it's all been tight lipped.

Last year, up until the wire, Killzone 2 was still up in the air; would it deliver, graphically? And, as it turned out, KZ2 did absolutely deliver. But we hadn't heard ANYTHING for two years since E3 2005.

It means there are more surprises for us which is a good thing. Last year was interesting with less surprises though.

I hope they at least have a good conference. I already know too much about the other two's to be excited.

i don't remember any leaks from last year?
everyone expected psp slim and dualshock3 already.

the only one i think think of, was that Killzone picture.
