Is that when he said Sony were gonna announce a big first party game? At the E3 discussion or something else?
 
Speaking of new game(s), anyone heard anything about:

1) That new exclusive Rockstar game for PS3?
2) Nobi Nobi Boy (the exclusive PS3 game from the maker of Katamari)?

That's pretty daft logic. That list is just what she's personally looking forward to. What's no. 5 on the list for her could be no. 1 for someone else.

No but given the fact that GTA4 is out of the way, I'd be surprised if Rockstar's exclusive project wasn't mentioned at the press conference.

It was never really clear. Some speculated it was the same, some still believe the "BBC game" was Heavy Rain. Tho others say Heavy Rain wasn't being shown at the time.

Hopefully all will be revealed at E3.
 
Whomever makes the Sony E3 thread make sure to have that new game reviel as a bullet point. I can already tell I'm going to want to know that as soon as possible and its such a pain digging through the E3 threads. I would just really like it to be a game that has been a rumor or speculation in the last few months.

Agreed, the second one played like butt.

I ate up the Last Canyon false rumors, and ate up Fenrir speculation as well. I will eat up a Beyond the Beyond remake if they made it. I NEED THEM AT E3

I'm not sure about that.. His GIF is overblown; if anything the fight is between Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo is so far ahead for HW sales it's not even funny. I simply can't see any super spectacular megaton announcements that would lead to the GIF as depicted.

He might just be hyping up the event.. but if anything of grand scale comes to fruition.. :D
 
The worst part of a Sony conference is that the awesome surprises are always at least a year away from being released. I'd like them to pull an Apple and go "Wasn't that an awesome announcement trailer for (insert high profile game)? By the way, it'll be in stores next week!"
 
I'd rather keep my expectation low so I won't be disappointed. For all we know, the surprise will be that The Agency will be out soon. What a downer that would be.

Yeah it is but I was just asking if anyone heard anything about either of those titles. Most importantly though I was interested in hearing about Heavy Rain for the PS3 and whether or not it's going to be at E3.

why? Because that just means 1 more amazing game on the horizon. We definitely know whatever Team ICO churns out will be great.

That BBC reporter also mentioned a "jaw-dropping" game from SCEE a while back, and there have been two separate rumors of unannounced SCEE games in the works: An FPS from Sony London and an action/adventure title from Sony Liverpool.

I think that a big game will be announced, and it will be one of the above. I just hope it's the latter, because I love action/adventure games, and we have waaay too many FPSes coming out.

So what else was I shown? Well, I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy. Apparently, Sony just wanted to give a glimpse of what the console will be capable of.

In fact, the game is such a secret that when I mentioned the game to Phil Harrison last week he was unsure at first whether even to admit the title existed. When I explained I had been shown it under strict Non Disclosure Agreement terms he looked relieved.

I don't mean to be a tease - all I can say is that I was left speechless. If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion.

And there I'll leave it. Feel free to speculate on what I was shown. I cannot, of course, confirm or deny what it was....

QFT. I'd love to get some amazing game announced at E3 in addition to God of War III (and probably Uncharted 2), and then have Team ICO's game blow everyone away at TGS. :D

According to some (trustworthy) insiders here at GAF, HR is not going to be shown to the public until Leipzig. However, they'll show it behind closed doors and under NDA to the press.

I still hope they change their minds at the last minute and show something, they can leave the full blowout for Leipzig. It's pretty much what I wanted to see the most at E3. I vowed to keep this avatar until I can gasp at HR's beauty, seems like i'll hold on to it for a month longer. :)

All the talk by insider in this thread is keeping me pretty hyped up for Sony's conference though. I think last year there wasn't so much talk of the "just you wait" kind. Sony's execs on the other hand were pretty much telling us to expect great things, that they would throw some fireworks at GC and stuff, and it was all a bit meh-ish, except for the KZ2 unveiling. This year they seem quieter.

Now, hyped up insiders/tech people and quiet execs... this tells me that we'll actually see some cool stuff this year. :D
 
Am I the only one that doesn't really care about Heavy Rain?

The E3 2006 trailer did nothing for me, and honestly, the face tech demo wasn't anything too special either after playing MGS4 and Uncharted.

Why should I be hyped for this game?

Old tech, especially regarding facial animation, and the E3 2006 trailer was not a "game trailer", it was just a tech demo which had nothing to do with the story of the game.

Also, you haven't played Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit, have you? If not, do yourself a favour and give it a try. :) I know that that's the reason I'm hyped for HR.
