Agreed Sony can't counter the FFXIII blow this is a huge victory for MS.

I personnally don't care about sony first party title. I don't know what the fuck sony is doing but MS is getting major exclusive ID and Tales of and AAA title aka FFXIII sony on the overside isn't doing a great job I mean besides MGS4 there's nothing worth my interest from third party on my fucking system lol @ Haze.
I'm pissed really :/

the only way Sony have a chance of redeeming themselves if they reveal the 7 remake tomorrow
otherwise Sony has just fucked themselves over and lost their biggest exclusive

Sony will probably just announce going 3rd party 3 hours later.
 
eugh this is seriously rediculous, they show the game like 2 years ago and keep us waiting, keeping it behind closed theatres, 'only on ps3' then this happens
such a kick in the balls for having bought a ps3 for this

Ah c'mon cheer up it is just a game. if you have ps3 already why should it bother you that it is coming out on xbox 360? It will be like GTAIV coming out for 360.

but really it would be cool if the PS3 got a ram upgrade. think of the higher res textures.

honestly though I would still buy the ps3 version so I wouldn't have to swap discs. It's not that I am fat or lazy, I just know the chances that one of them will get scratched on 360 or my 360 will RROD on me is a lot higher than the ps3.

hmm that reminds me, isn't wada making an appearance at the nintendo conference as well?

Yeah, they should have just said multiplat from the beginning. I would probably have a 360 right now. It's like RPG galore on the 360, although I like some Sony exclusive IPs, I follow the RPGs when I decide what system to go for.
 
While the SE announcement was a total shocker, in my opinion it really does just reinforce Sony's stance this gen that they are doing thier own thing. For the first time since they got into the console race, it has become apparent that they are not looking to be in direct competition with MS or Nintendo. They seem to be doing their own thing this gen.

Seriously, I don't know if this was the plan all along or if Sony just stopped being hungry. They spent a ton of money to ensure BR became the HD standard and placed this above all else.

I presume Sony has a roadmap of where they want this to all go, but to me it seems that they are placing all of their eggs into in house development as a #1 priority. It is almost exactly like what Nintendo did when the N64 released.

I mean look at all of the exclusives they lost, Soul Caliber, Devil May Cry, FFXIII, shit the list goes on - either Sony no longer cares or they just cannot compete with MS's deep pockets. Either way, FFXIII is the one 3rd party game that would have been worth the extra $$$ to keep in their camp.

While I do not agree with this approach it is what it is. Sony is banking on their in house talent.

Good thing they don't care about what the competition is doing anymore, because they are no longer in the race.

Since Sony is trying to lose the "console war" my guess their conference will consist of

Killzone 2 footage, showing a new shiny gun and then releasing it in 2010 so they can pur 30 million more into the game. The fine developers behind Boston's big dig is giving the developers behind killzone pointers.

Sony will announce a home beta in 2011 or something.

Little Big Planet will look nice and still not be playable for the forseeable future.

and thats it. oh god of war on ps3, no trailer probably.
 
There will be no FF7 remake announcement. Try to understand. SE's main crew are tied up with XIII and SE made it multiplatform to better recoup on production costs. FF7 for PS3 flies directly in the opposite direction of this logic. The only option is FF7 remake PSP... and SE would be better off putting it on DS.

idk, i still think it's lol. if theres no ff7, they just need to show games (announced but not shown), games (unannounced), games(announced and shown before). And maybe some new useful features (xmb stuff, home stuff, movie/music store), and some new cool innovative tech wouldn't hurt. stay away from numbers and charts, and they can still have a good show.

i swear if all i see is just the bioshock+ port, no god of war 3, and already announced games. i'll be disappointed.

hell, if i don't see god of war 3 period i'll be disappointed.

question is, do we really think Sony didnt know about the FF13 announcement? no way SE would just blindside them like that. hopefully sony prepared something to counter it...trico?

In a word? No. I just don't see it.

Sony can show a whole range of AAA PS3 games that all have GFX comparable to KZ2 and have great new gameplay styles (LBP) and great production designs.

But the simple fact of the matter is that as far as headlines go, I don't really see SCE having anything that can top 'FXIII to 360' as a headline.

But does this mean that we won't see some amazing stuff? No. I think Sony, on the whole, will give us a better show than MS did. But will have they a megaton at the end the size of FFXIII?

Again, probably not.

But you're right, there's no chance Sony didn't know about this so if they want to 'counter-attack,' I'm sure they had all the time to prepare for it.

Sony need to understand that games like Uncharted, Ratchet, Motorstorm, aren't GOW, FFXIII Halo or MGS4.
I don't understand this first party policy I can't play gears dead rising on my PS3 why?
cause sony thinks their games are better...

Seriously that wont be able to help them man they need something that can go up against that announcement. Aside from Getting Grant Theft Auto 5 exclusive or Dragon Quest 10 nothing might me able to help them. Maybe Buying out Level 5.
 
Of course Sony knew about this... lots of people in the industry must have known since a while ago. In spite of that... damn I can't wait for tomorrow... what the hell are they gonna show??
 
I'm always sticking up for Sony and I was during the MS press conference, but damn did MS blow it out of the water. It was already great up until the Square stuff. The second he came out I was like "FFXIII 360 NOOOO" If only because I didn't want to see the backlash. I like exclusives for each system. I have all 3 systems so its not like it really matters, but I do like em. Then he leaves and I was sure Sony had dodged a bullet. Bastard had to come back out.

Possible Things Sony Could Do

- FFVII remake come on!!!
- FFXIII on PS3 first? (Well exclusive in Japan might do something)
- Something crazy we havn't seen

There are plenty of things to me Sony could show to make me happy (Team Ico game, GOWIII), but these are not on the same level as FFXIII in the publics eye.
 
ok, I was watching Batman and just came online now to see... this. This is sooo unexpected I'm actually in shock. Incredibly disappointed obviously. Now we know why it disappeared off the face of the planet for years. Now we know why Versus XIII has been put on hold.... so they can make FFXIII fucking multi-plat! Sony are seriously absolutely clueless... how they didn't secure FFXIII is beyond me.

They're completely fucked. They're done. I dont even want to watch their conference anymore.

i bought the ps3 for this, it was THE game that sealed the deal, and knowing this sooner i could have grabbed a 360, with all those other RPGs releasing at the end of the year it offers more than the ps3, but i cant afford a second console

I think Stringer gave them, and pretty much all other 3rd parties, the finger a while ago. I've long thought that Stringer didn't care much for Sony to lead the market in gaming, instead focusing on blu-ray and getting the electronics divisions back to where they once were. I think Stringer is content with just getting the PS3 to profitablitily, even if it is only barely profitable and finishing last.

The FFXIII announcement was quite a shocker but considering that it's multi-platform and that I'll still get to play the game, I'm still happy with my ps3 purchase. There are several things that Sony can do tomorrow that'll make me very happy (TRICO game, WKS, surprise announcements).

I think that if MS had completely money-hatted FFXIII making it a 360 exclusive, then I'd have something to worry about. As long as I can still play it, then I'm good.

all us PS3 gamers have right now when it comes to jrpg's is fucking enchanted arms
the most shittastic jrpg in recent memory

ff13 made me ignore all those other 360 jrpg's exclusive to 360 because i know ff13 would be better then them all anyway

im just glancing at the screen right now looking dumbfounded :o
 
Looks like it's coming out in Japan first only on PS3. After they finish that is when they'll port it to 360 and localization...
