The E3 '08 Sony Prediction and Discussion Thread

Twisted Metal PS3? Infamous? Uncharted 2? Resistance 2? Killzone 2? Little Big Planet?

Sure those are all superb games and would get almost the equal amount of critical acclaim FFXIII gets, but there is no exclusive for the conference that would send the PS3 flying off shelves like GTA, MGS4, or FFXIII would.

Sony just lost their trump card, it's hopeless.

I'm kind of glad I have class during the conference just like in 06, I won't have to look at Sony's pitiful stance this year.

The plus side is FF13 threads will be a whole lot more civil, at least until the comparisons start rolling in.

Actually it changes in a BIG way. There are many JRPG fans that could over look games like BD/LO/UI/SO4/LR because of FFXIII. Toss in FFXIII to that list now, and there's really no reason not to switch in my eyes. At least not one in the immediate future. Maybe Sony will show me one tomorrow. But barring FFVIIR or KHIII released within 6 months in the US, I don't see how they will :lol

If Sony didn't know about the announcement before the rest I bet a few things are going to be moved up from TGS to E3.

QFT!!!!

Anyone see wipeout HD anywhere? oh that was delayed so we can play fatal inertia.

I doubt HOME beta will even begin this month, the fall or even early next year.
 
Well I do hope they have some exciting new IP's to show. The MS showing was pretty dreadful in that regard, and the ones they did have didn't look all that interesting, the FF13 announcement literally took them from a laughing stock conf to a sure fire winner this year. f Square did indeed get moneyhatted, it was money very well spent.
 
If I didn't get scared at the opera this wouldn't haz happened, damn those bats. DAMN THOSE BATS.

It's great to see MS bring it. Making Sony last in sales and features will only push them harder to deliver. Not great for Sony shareholders, great for Sony gamers. :D

But, we'll see what happens tomorrow.
 
I feel bad for Sony now. They are relying too much on 1st party and not third party exclusives. What a shame. This is a huge blow to sony.

What Sony could unveil to win back a competitive market perception after today's bombs dropped:

-Final Fantasy VII Remake exclusive
-God of War 3 announced, scheduled for 2009
-New Kojima Productions IP exclusive
-ThrICO
-GT5 demonstration with car damage, functional online with stable netcode and the actual ability to play with friends
-Virtual orgies in Home
-Wii emulator


What Sony will actually unveil:

-New Afrika trailer.

I'm no toon, but it seems microsoft gets they stuff out or secures stuff for the future. Sony announces projects and partnerships, cellus anyone? and we fans get so hyped for it only to be let down. Sony's conference will probably be more of the same promises and projects that more than likely be delayed.

And for what? It will be shocking if microsoft's whole avatar system is up and running before HOME. I was so hyped for HOME tell all my friends with PS3s to look out for it and everytime feeling stupid when it gets delayed.

Guild Wars 2 simultaneous release with the PS3! Man I would buy the PS3 version for that. Remember the NCsoft deal from last E3! Would be even better if you can cross platform play!

I do wonder if we will see any games from NCsoft on the Sony press conference.

I do NOT want more GT5 or Home stuff unless its coming out in the next three months.

You need to chill out, and start thinking realistically. Actually, most of GAF needs to take their meds and float back down to reality.
 
FFVII Remake or new Chrono Trigger and all will be forgiven. The ball is in your court Sony.
