The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim |OT2| Team Edward's Revenge

Yeah I just went back and realized you have to come through that door on the other side.

I wonder if you can pickpocket the item required to get in the front door?

I'm a sword wielding madman, not a scrawny wimpy thief
though I would really like to get in there : (

Swords swing faster than axes. Axes swing faster than a mace.

So Fast Sword > Axe > Mace Slow

Also breaking a stace/shield is much easier with a mace, less easier with an axe, not so easy with a sword.

***Even at 19 FPS I can the difference with speed and have noticed the stance breaking thing.

Maces also have the nice perk that disregards armor by a certain percentage. I can't get down with how slow they swing though.

I wonder if anyone has done any number crunching on the three. Would be interesting to see how well they all stack up against one another. At first glance I assumed hammers would be the best as well. Especially with that perk.

Yeah. I wonder how much faster they really are when compared to axes/hammers.

One thing to consider here is whether you plan on adding a lot of enchant damage to your weapons; the more of your damage comes from enchantments, the bigger the advantage to just getting the fastest swinging weapon. With max enchanting and a decent enchant potion, it seems you could push towards 100 magical damage per hit on a weapon, which to me makes just rolling with a 1 handed sword the smartest bet.

Except that in practice the speed difference isn't that big. And yeah hammer perk is by far the best.

It says in the wiki that attack speed for one handed swords are 40% faster than a mace. That is almost 3 sword hits for every 2 mace attacks. Pretty significant to me. Not sure what the armor rating is in general for enemies so it is hard to do a comparison. Damage reduction is 12% of total armor rating.

Random amusing moment: A giant is escorting his mammoth, and a bandit thinks it's a good idea to pop an arrow at him. The giant predictably doesn't take kindly to this and takes off after the bandit, who turns tail and runs.

They disappear around a hill, and I hear a single, loud *scrunch*. The giant saunters back up over the hill, ignoring me. I head over and loot the very flat, very stupid bandit.

I love this game.

I had the same thing happen to me recently. I had just got done fighting my first blood dragon (GAHHHHHHH), and I freak out cause I hear arrows whizzing past my head. Near death, I look around frantically, and turn around to see two giants and a mammoth walking behind me. I'm like, WTF GIANTS WITH BOWS, but then I hear shouting and finally piece it together: there's two bandits assaulting the giants with arrows, and I'm in the crossfire.

I duck out and go to town with my healing spells while I watch the giants vault the bandits into the stratosphere. I tried to see'em land so I could loot them, but they flew too far, hahaha.

I have at least 37 empty Soul Gems, yet when I go to Enchant, it does not show any of them.

Is this a glitch?

I mean. I just bought these things a second ago.

Empty soul gems don't do anything. You need soul gems filled with souls to create enchantments. Get to fillin' them!

You need to fill them with souls before they can be used. Best way is to enchant a weapon to capture souls. Or you can buy filled soul gens, but they are significantly more expensive.

"empty" being the key word. Fill it up with soul trap and then go enchanting. Or go buy filled gems for more $$$

Is there an opportunity (as in F-New Vegas) where you can pimp out a perk that you had been ignoring throughout the game?

Wouldnt mind being able to use some of these awesome great swords I keep finding. Im all about the single-handed weapons right now though.

Honestly is it worth enchanting anything if you don't have nearly all the perks? You can't re-enchant an item and then you are stuck with something like 15% shock resistance which isn't awful, but not that great.

Speaking of enchanting, I just want enchantments to reduce magicka cost because I'm a mage and would like most of my spells to cost hardly anything (if that's possible) so should I just skip all the elemental perks in the enchanting tree?

I'm also thinking about going one-handed (sword) and just using the sword from conjuration, is that worth it or should I just skip one-handed? I'm trying to create a battle-mage but so far he's pretty much a mage who is good at forging armor.

I skipped most of them and just made situational rings. My mana pool is large enough to cast most spells now though

I fucking hate spriggans. that is all.
My first good ass kicking was against a Spriggan. Slaughtering wolves made me overconfident, and then I wandered into my first cave and get my ass handed to me, splinters and all.

Well, I officially have passed the wall of challenge. Nothing can hurt me even in the slightest and if I crouch, nothing can see me even if they're 3 hairs away from me and I've got perks collecting because I don't have anything else to spend them on that I want.

Of course, it took 50-60 hours to get there...

just curious....

Did anyone else immediately loot the Arch-Mage's garden after seeing he was dead? Not only his garden, I looted his room of everything I planned on using on a quest or for experiments in retaliation to the game not letting me loot his dead body. I regret nothing!

I just killed my first dragon, then while walking around later on I heard a loud rumbled and a voice, and the screen shook. What was that?

when in doubt, loot.

also, do spriggans always revive or is there a trick to this. I came across a clearing with three of them kill me now aagugghh.

Talk to the Jarl, you'll find out what is up. I freaked out when I first heard it, I thought some Daedric lord was coming down to smite me lol.

Hey, you guys see the Oblivion being in Skyrim th--

I'm just fucking with you.

Real question: Anyone figure out a workaround to the Markath glitch? Once you do the
prison break
quest, you can't remove your bounty in the town, essentially making it impossible to navigate it. I imagine even if I invis'd to the castle / quest NPCs I need, they themselves would even be hostile. 360 version, btw.

Forty hours in, and I think I'm finally gonna continue the main quest and talk to the
Grey Beards
at the Throat of the World. I'm ready to get down on this destiny shit.

That could be true, for 1-handers anyway; I was talking about the 2-handers myself (might be the speed difference is 20% between the weapon types there as well, but greatswords sure feel just as clunky - there's no grace or finesse with them at all). And the fact that 2-handers all share the same attack animation (which looks like swinging a baseball bat) doesn't fit the swords at all. Uhh, that is, if you care about that sort of superfluous things. Which I don't, at all. Honest!

Damn, this game is just so freaking awesome. I don't know what it was about Oblivion, but I just could NOT get into it no matter how hard I tried, I got bored so quickly. It's not the same with Skyrim though, not sure what it is.

Also, there's SO much shit to do. I was getting some side quests done before I further proceeded on with the 'main' storyline. Got into the Mage College quest line. Just became the
Arch Mage
of the college. So awesome. More side quests just keep coming, though. @_@

Damn... those Daedric lords are something else aren't they?
I've had three run-in with them so far. One direct run-in that resulted in my favorite daedra conjuring: my dear Demora (has gotten me out of so many binds when all my atranoch would get one-shotted. When he yells "I smell weakness!" in his garglely voice, I think he's talking about me ;_;).The other two run-ins were by voice only and they both wanted me to do vile things... one was successful. Well they were both technically successful but one of the rewards was a skull which did squat-shit that I cared about and the other was a sick ebony mace which I need to get my smithing skills high enough to hone. It sucks souls when you beat people to death with it yo!

:( my horse was just killed by silver hand punks.

You need to calmly step back from the situation and plot out how to kill everyone in every silver-hand hideout in the game. I'm not sure if there's a quest for this but justice must be served!
They tend to have shitty loot though :(

I'm doing the main quest intermittently. I think it works better this way.

So I helped some guy clear a cave of spriggans to avenge a fallen comrade. He wants to give the poor dead girl a proper burial, unfortunately I may have used the corpse as a zombie, so he'll have to scoop the ash off the ground :(

So I want to make an assassin class and I don't want to be a cat or a lizard. I'm thinking bosmer then. Is that a good choice? Also, while being an assassin what is the advantage that daggers have over one handed swords? Thanks.

Well, I started my second character - an Imperial named Quadratus. What a boss:

I'm actually quite enjoying sword/shield combat. The Quick Reflexes perk in Block is cool. Feels nice to be up in some faces after playing 50 hours of magery business.

I'm nearly 130 hours in and you just reminded me I stopped the main quest the same place you did. I haven't visited 4 of the 9 holds yet. My map is getting hard to navigate because there's so many markers on it (I've been clicking on the maps I found in the world to add their marking to my main map and now I have so many places I haven't been to visible). The good thing is I have many arteries I use for fast travel to get to different hubs of the world but so much of the game's world is still unexplored for me; probably 60%.

I've found (for PC at least) that if they come up to you and say your under arrest, agree to go to jail and then they will just walk away and nothing will happen.

They're fast, which is pretty important when the guy can turn around any second. I also get a special animation when I assassinate fools where I slit their throat. I'm not sure if that's only a dagger thing though, the other weapons might have their own animations.

Daggers are supposedly more quiet. The sneak perk tree plus some equipment lets daggers get up to a 30x sneak bonus as well. With perks and equipment, swords will only get to 6x.

Any opinions on this?

Drain health increases the weapon's value the most, and money never lies. Plus it's all evil and shit, that's cool (the enchanting books in-game even refer to them as vampiric enchants, awww yeaaaah).

I'm just never a fan of elemental enchants as a primary enchant since you're bound to meet enemies immune to it sooner or later, good for a secondary enchant if you've got the 100 enchanting perk tho. Me, I like fire for that. Fire fire FIRE!
