Personally i wish for additional landmass, if not whole provinces (though High Rock wouldn't be too large, nor Summerset Isles if it is scaled down) then at least parts of them. Visiting Morrowind would be nice, Vvardenfell especially. Seeing how it has changed over 200+ years...
Shivering Isles was pretty good but not more Planes of Oblivion please, unless it is just a visit for one quest.
Skyrim has a lot of content already so i don't think it needs more, other than allowing us to divorce, remarry and/or have multiple spouses, own stores and shops and stuff, fund building cities or some cool stuff like that.

Besides Shivering Isles and Mehrunes Dagon's plane, has the series taken place in any other Daedra's plane ? Love to see Azura's plane.

The
Mind Of Madness
quest was really cool, Skyrim's answer to Oblivion's A Brush With Death. It was good to see
Sheogorath
again, though he sounded a bit different.

So is it system limitations or something else that makes the cities in these games so small?

I just reached Windhelm, the supposed capital city I guess, and it's size is really underwhelming. It reminds me of the imperial city in oblivion. Hyped as a grand city but once inside seems to contain a handful of homes and about forty people.

Yeah Cicero.... lol. Funniest character I've seen in Skyrim yet.

Have you 'met'
Barbas? The voice acting was a big wtf moment for me.

Barbas can be used as a third party member. He can never be killed and can act as a damage sponge or decoy. It can get quite annoying though as he is always yapping away and constantly bumps into you. I have Barbas and Lydia as my crew and its really cool right now, very effective if you plan on slaying dragons and general bandit killing but not so much when doing most quests.

Inaccessible for mortals at the moment. Well, 200 years ago anyway, according to one book in Morrowind and Oblivion. Would love to see it but not as expansion pack. Small area included for a quest, that's fine. But not another Shivering Isles style expack. Deadlands were tolerable as they were short in Oblivion, Shivering Isles got quickly rather repetitive, more so than Cyrodiil (for me anyway).

Both desing decision and system limitations i think. The current size is adequate for the game, compared to rest of the game world certainly.

Until we get next gen hardware, don't expect hundred+ NPC cities with matching size. Actually, even with new hardware, won't happen...

Assassin's Creed cities do feel large though... with current gen hardware. Oh well.
Don't expect TES games to have large cities before next gen hardware.

EDIT FUCK! I meant to copy+paste this to my post above... but pressed Submit. Dammit.

That would be nice certainly. With good romance quests... Obsidian doesn't seem to be doing those though. BioWare? Eh, no, not for Skyrim.
Would buy companion packs as DLC certainly, if they're good. On 360 of course, on PC i'll just wait for modders to do them.
Yeah, modders will do a great work on that front, as always. It's just that I can't ever understand Bethesda's reticent nature to anything related to good storytelling or well written characters, now Esbern was nice but basically because Max von Sydows voice is awesome. If a Bethesda game ever offered top notch storytelling and characters aside from their usual sandbox stuff we'd be talking about the best game ever.

I kind of wish I'd gone full mage instead of battle mage. I find myself barely using my maces, even though it is fun to feel like Sauron once and a while. If I'd went full mage all my one handed perks could've went into alteration and making shielding spells useful.

Battle mages have plenty of advantages; particularly, even with max Alteration perks you won't have the melee defense of armor (especially with block investment). You also can't really deal as much damage to a single target with magic as you can even a one-handed melee weapon. If my goal were to be stupidly overpowered in this game, I think I would probably lean towards playing a melee/mage hybrid over a full mage.

Actually
he can be killed at the end of the quest he gives you but DON'T KILL HIM. If you kill him you cannot get the Daedric artifact from the quest.

Wallach, I could listen to you talk about Elder Scrolls mythology for hours.

I would really love there to be some sort of Elder Scrolls encyclopedia in print form. I guess I could read that Infernal City novel.

So anyone else stumble upon that drunk (can't remember which inn) that is usually sitting there by himself. The innkeeper started telling me about his past troubles, then I talked to the wife, and she said
that there was a woman in his past that he loved and she fled to Riften to be with Vex. Lol. I talked to Vex about her and she told me a place that the woman had gone to but when she told me I seriously didn't catch it, and she wont repeat herself. And it is not a misc. quest. Help!

Think I may have spread myself to thin when it came to assigning perks. I'm level 21 and now I'm getting destroyed by Elder Dragons and in most of the dungeons I come across.

I hope next gen it changes a bit. Even if it's just one city that is vast and expansive. It just really kills that immersion when people talk about wars and battles that have "thousands" of Nords when I would be hard pressed to find 300 people in this entire landmass and
Probably less than 100 homes to house them all.

Why is Daedric armor (Smithing 90) stronger than Dragon armor (Smithing 100)?

I suppose because of the dual class nature of Dragon (light and heavy), though I still think Daedric is more advantageous since it allows smithing of weapons. I'm kind of surprised Dragon even requires a perk and isn't quest related.

So who else are addicted to Skyrim like crack and are weirded the fuck out that for the first time in the history of ever, they have an unopened copy of a new Zelda game just sitting there gathering dust.

Makes sense, considering Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls game yet and Zelda games have been in decline for the majority of the last decade.

On PS3 here, why is the L and R on the D-Pad useless???

I want to assign something to those buttons damnit, I'm sick of going through the damn menus.

The combat possibilities are completely gimped on console because you can't use a keyboard to quick-select stuff, argh!!

Fucking 50 hours already....fucking 50 hours.

The follow up to this game on a next-gen system with an engine from ID...you know what it should be illegal.

Heard that!

I still catch myself staring at the northern lights in the sky and looking out at the world from a high cliff and feeling in awe of the graphics......A next gen elder scrolls with an updated ID engine will probably make me go into a coma from the beauty.

Two fucking awesome looking ruins now I've come across that are locked to Mages guild bullshit. Fucking load of crap, I'm a fucking mass murderer, not a pussy ass mage. Let me in.

My early twenties were rough. Get a companion for now, soon you will be smithing ass again.

You can assign L/R to stuff from your Favorites list. You have to hold it down for a second to get the item on the list to hotkey to the direction.

If you're talking about
Labyrinthian
, I'm pretty sure there is an entrance that does not require that. I'll go double check.

And also looks way more badass.

Yeah...I skipped Daedric and just went Dragon thinking that it'd be the best. Not only is it not, but it also doesn't even have any weapons either. Wasted a perk. If I could go back I'd skip all of those perks on the left side and just go straight to Daedric. Oh well. =/

Only true if you are heavy armor. For light armor, dragonscale armor is the one with the best stats.

Ah. Yeah I'm heavy armor.

There is a perk on the left that allows you to craft plate and scale armor, which is pretty much necessary. So you only wasted 2 perks on glass and dragon smithing. Isn't really that big a deal.

Yeah I know. But I would really enjoy those two extra perks actually. That's why it's somewhat annoying.

So I just got the shout
elemental fury
and your supposed to only be able to cast it on un-enchanted weapons, but if you dual weild and one weapon is vanilla, it still casts. Thus I have an enchanted weapon that procs SUPERFAST when I do the dual weild power attack.

Think this is a bug? Is this "breaking the game" Or is it just a strong shout?

Ok but what's the point? You are stuck with those afterwards. If I want to switch to a defensive spell, cast it, then switch back to my shield, I have to go BACK in the favorite menu to select my shield.

Holy crap. Didn't know this, and I've been playing for 40 hours.

Thanks a million, now I can easily switch between my bow and my sword.

Question for fellow 2 hand users: Is it the best to use hammers, swords, or axes? I prefer the axes (mainly just because of their look and that I'm an orc), but is there a clear winner amongst the three? I know that as far as base damage goes it's Swords < Axes < Hammers. But what about when you take into consideration their three perks you can use?

It is helpful, but yeah, if there was one game that needs a weapon wheel (on the consoles anyway) this is it.

The hammer/mace perks that let you ignore 75% of enemy armor seems like by far the best weapon perk.

Yeah that would help.

BTW guys in Whiterun, the guy who asked me to find proof his brother is jailed, he sounds fishy. Do I help him or not?

Sword also attack faster in general, so that is another consideration. Kinda hard to tell with this game, since the damage per second is not immediately transparent.

I wonder if anyone has done any number crunching on the three. Would be interesting to see how well they all stack up against one another. At first glance I assumed hammers would be the best as well. Especially with that perk.

Yeah. I wonder how much faster they really are when compared to axes/hammers.

Random amusing moment: A giant is escorting his mammoth, and a bandit thinks it's a good idea to pop an arrow at him. The giant predictably doesn't take kindly to this and takes off after the bandit, who turns tail and runs.

They disappear around a hill, and I hear a single, loud *scrunch*. The giant saunters back up over the hill, ignoring me. I head over and loot the very flat, very stupid bandit.

I love this game.

I remember when giants used to scare me. Now I kill them in two hits. =/

Swords swing faster than axes. Axes swing faster than a mace.

So Fast Sword > Axe > Mace Slow

Also breaking a stace/shield is much easier with a mace, less easier with an axe, not so easy with a sword.

***Even at 19 FPS I can the difference with speed and have noticed the stance breaking thing.

Except that in practice the speed difference isn't that big. And yeah hammer perk is by far the best.
