How similar is this to the first game Kidman DLCs?
That doesn't sound half bad does it?It's basically open world TLoU.
.
i dunno, the handgun is my most used weapon right now... i kill a lot with a single headshot, and when it doesn't work, i finish with the knife while he stumble after the headshot!
i mostly use stealth, but sometime it's easier to just shoot it, and it's pretty easy to find or make handgun ammo
So I'm at Chapter 4 and I have yet to die. Does the random save moments create checkpoints for you when you die or do you strictly revert back to the last manual safe you made in a safe house? I'm curious to know if I can ease up or be a bit more concerned about dying.
When you start you don't have many options. But one of those options is stealth. Another option is running.
You can shoot things but don't expect much.
This is my exact problem right now. Struggling to muster the motivation to keep playing because I have no idea what the game is trying to be.
It's basically open world TLoU
Ok, can you all help me with something very basic?
How the fuck do you optimally kill regular zombies? I cannot figure this shit out.
Unless the hitbox is absurdly specific, handgun shot to the knee doesn't knock them down.
Knife does barely anything, I'm assuming upgrades help with this.
Several encounters so far have had them jump up and swarm me, how the hell do I counter this. I have NOTHING to work with in that scenario other than a smoke or explosive bolt.
Is it really just two head shots? Is that the optimal way? Or am I missing something? I know this has been beaten to death at this point, but...I really wish the match system had come back.
A decent way into Chapter 3 and so far, and if you asked me if the game was a sequel to TLOU or EW1, I would've said TLOU.
Also, I'm playing stealthy so this doesn't really affect me, but a lot of PR leading up to release emphasized how you could play the game the way you want. To be frank, at this point in the game, I call complete bullshit. Balls-to-the-wall frontal assault would literally be impossible with these ammunition constraints. The only way to play this game is with calculated stealth.
I hate to say it but I'm really not feeling it so far. And the kicker is that so far nothing has been even remotely scary.
I guess I just wasted all my upgrade gel. I spent it on Predator. You're supposed to get a red arrow to pop up when you can do the attack and it never pops up.
So yea don't buy Predator in the stealth tree.
Shotgun is fantastic to knock enemies flat so you move in for the stomp. You can easily CC 2-3 enemies in one shot in close quarters with the shotgun.
nope, did it only once for the critical rate! i used part on almost every weapons, here's my most used weapon :
1. stealth
2. handgun
3. shotgun
4. crossbow
5. sniper
Did you simply dump everything into raising critical twice then? Because they don't do anything than swarm from a single headshot for me.
No idea why they wouldn't. If you use a crafting bench to craft a single bullet it autosaves too, which you can load from.
These impressions sound ROUGH, GAF isn't liking this baby.
I was happy i got to paid the game an hour ago (but they won't give me until next friday) but now its like 😔
I wouldn't be so down on the stealth focus if the crouch walk speed wasn't so fucking slow.
tips
It's upgradeable.I wouldn't be so down on the stealth focus if the crouch walk speed wasn't so fucking slow.
Thanks Kain!you'll get a scripted scene here later!
I actually did have a little smile whenI'm asking myself if that counts as a spoiler.

Plenty of folks enjoying it as well but I assure you most likely they are still too busy playing to post. I'm in love with the game and a huge fan of 1. Playing on nightmare had been super intense but fantastic.
That doesn't sound half bad does it?
i never played Last of Us

Thanks for these, I'll put them into practice. Will probably just look up where the Shotgun is, I somehow seem to have missed it despite having played Chapter 3 for a decent chunk of time.
I actually did have a little smile whenyou first see the kitty when coming out of Seb's office.
this game makes me wish more studios gave open world survival horror a try
Some proper edgelord voice acting from Sebastian.

???
Also, those that keep saying this is like RE4 are out of their minds. It's very loosely similar, but then it's just as similar to Silent Hill and TLOU just like the first game. The combat isn't even comparable other than hey, you upgrade shit and you kind of, but not exactly shoot in a similar perspective (for all of two seconds).
This is how it feels so far, does anyone know if the horror emphasis gets cranked up as the game progresses? Has anyone gotten far enough yet to say?
If so, I might blitz through the open-world-ish part and get to the stuff I came for.

It pops up, the range is just awful. So yeah, it's definitely a waste.
whats the suggested difficulty to begin ?
I like a healthy dose of challenge.Maybe survival then nightmare on other playthroughs ?
Anybody else enjoy going into the Black Lodge in the intro level?
The minute I saw those red curtains...
Also the painting that's a reflection of the wall behind you with the red door in it... just like Laura Palmer looking at the painting in her bedroom
Is there an optimal way to kill the crawlingenemies?"human centipede"
So far, stealth works on everything except these guys. I never get the prompt, and even when they get knocked down from a headshot I can't stomp them. They seem to just be ammo sinks.
Yeah me too. Loving it so far. I'm up to Chapter 6.
Got a question about a certain monster from early in the game that keeps popping up..You meet her in a house that was haunted. The one that looks a bit like Laura and has the floaty white outfit, everything goes cold and blue when she shows up. Is there a way to kill her? I'm just running away from her right now and she disappears. Am I doing that right?
Just got the shotgun, oh my, i'm in love! Sounds amazing.
EDIT - Another awesome thing I'm enjoying, throwing bottles at their faces to stun enemies and then running up and slitting their throats from the front, very satisfying.
Hehehe wait till you see how you regain health in the safe zones
I'm excited.
Chapter 7is another open world level, a bit smaller than the first, but. I can't believe how pumped I am for it.
For the shotgun, IIRCI think you go to the right after the first safe house and down the lane of houses near the pile of bodies. Should be the first or second house on the left. You will find a computer that will open up a major sidequest area.
Also I'll explain my thoughts fully later, but so far The Evil Within 2 feels like if you blended the original game, Resident Evil 1/4, Last of Us, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid 3, Layers of Fear, and Fallout into a a game. It surprisingly works in my opinion.
Legit in the conversation for most satisfying shotgun of the generation. What an amazing kick and sound it has.
it's kind of bullshit that throwing a bottle next to ones lying down won't wake them up but they get triggered if you pick something up next to them.
It's bullshit you can't just stomp them before they even stand up or get triggered to stand up.
I'd recommend normal. Nightmare is a good challenge but there's no aim assist and the enemies are fast as fuck. You die in 3 hits. There's no hud information for stealth so it would seem nebulous for a while, but the difficulty demands you do a lot of stealth. It'll just be a rough ride.
