Great episode. I think his point about pre-ordering is pretty spot on. Some are IMO taking it the wrong way. He's not saying you are wrong for pre-ordering. Obviously it's up to you, to decide how you spend your money. But more so, it's probably better to just wait for the retail version of the game, so that you don't feel ripped off when it doesn't live up to the media coverage/advertisement prior to it going Gold. I think this more so applies for those that, put down all their money.
I guess you could argue the pre-order point is sort of silly in that, most people don't pay in full when pre-ordering. They only put $5. And even if you did pay in full, Gamestop allows you to move that money over to something else. You aren't forced to buy that game, or to pick it up on Day 1. So you could still pre-order and hold off until retail to make sure the game lives up to its advertisement.
But I think the greater point he was making was that, you should just wait. So instead of him saying "stop pre-ordering", he should have said that "early adopting" needs to be toned down a bit.
The guys over at 4chan are so fucking pissed, saying that the new MGS can be finished in 2h. And there are reports of players finishing around the 18 min mark. Is that true?
If you absolutely sprint and rush through the main mission, it can easily take 18-30 min to beat it. However, if you take your time, explore every area, collect every side thing (and do all the side objectives), the main mission can take 1 hour and 30 min to 2 hours. Then there are new missions all together that take about 40 min (again, if you take your time and explore, and do all side objectives before completing the missions main objective). If you play like that, the game gives you about 5-8 hours of gameplay.
