You think they're going to go as far to make Grodd talk or just telepathy?

I could see them having Grodd force a voice inside a person's head. I don't think you could make live action gorilla lips moving not seem hilarious.

Has the show drastically improved since the first three episodes? Because I had to stop watching, I just wasn't enjoying myself at all. And I could sit through Sons of Anarchy episodes because of Donal Logue.

Gotham has had better episodes than those ones you saw, but I still don't think it's really worth it (and I'm still watching, mind you).

It's gotten better, but the real problem I have is that it is this weird mixture of a procedural and a serialized show. How this plays out is that, for example, the Police Department stuff around Gordon is actually pretty static and never really seems to progress towards affecting the characters. Save for some minor plot points, everyone is basically reset every week. Then you have the mob stuff, which is actually where the story is moving forward. Everything in the show is seemingly motivated and pushed forward by the Penguin.

It's a weird show that for me is very much the opposite of the Flash. After 5 episodes of Gotham I still had no idea where the show was going or what it was building towards. Whereas with the Flash I knew exactly what I was getting halfway through the damn pilot.

I don't know if I agree with that

I feel like the cop aspect is moving forward, maybe not as quickly as some of the other plots.

But like the entire backbone of this week's ep was fallout of the actions of the cops from the previous week and how that affected Gordon, Bullock and Sarah.

I will say it has an odd mix of serialization and procedural, but a lot of shows start that way.

Fringe did. Supernatural did. Person of interest.

I'll admit I am a little behind in the episodes. I think I still have two to watch.

It has improved, but it didn't change into something completely different. If you disliked the three first episode that heavily you probably won't like the other ones either.

Iris is alright, she's better then Laurel.
Not sure what they can do with her character though if she stays in the dark.

I'm not a big fan of Barry getting with Iris though, the brother sister thing is just throwing me off, even if they are not related, still a little inappropriate IMO.

There's really not much to her character. She's just going to be a Lois Lane clone or Barry's closest confidant, and he already has bunch of them in this show already. Like the most interesting things about her are probably never going to show up in the show because it relates to the future stuff with the legacy of The Flash in the year 3000 and Bart Allen.

Oh and that one time
Zoom killed her.

Really liked this episode.
Plastique didn't have much development but I liked the role she played as kind of a dark reflection of what could have potentially happened to Barry. Clancy Brown is always good to have in anything DC and Iris was probably at her best out of all the episodes so far. I really enjoy Barry and Joe's relationship too and it was nice getting more intrigue involving Wells. Overall, this was a very well done episode that had a lot of emotional moments and teased many things to come(GORILLA GRODD!!!!).

Admittedly, I'm not a big comic book guy, but if you turn anything you touch into a bomb, how's that work for stuff like eating or going to the restroom.

Gotta wipe fast?

I enjoyed that episode. Just generally enjoying the show overall so far.

But Grodd though....

I find the character ridiculous even though that makes no sense given the sort of characters in the comic book universes of Marvel, DC, etc.

But Grodd though.........

I'm probably in the minority here. :lol

Not drastically, but it's better. They have more focus now and some of the characters are more comfortable in the setting. It's not at "good" levels yet but it's left "so bad it's good" territory.

I actually think Iris's actress is really likeable.

But they hit a snag. Because she's actually got chemistry with Eddie. And Barry's rocking some chemistry with Kaitlin. Part of me hopes they explore THAT relationship a little. You can have Iris/Barry as the end-game, but splitting from that and developing them both outside of their friendship is key.

I mean Oliver-Felicty was something Arrow stumbled into, and by proxy Oliver-Laurel's relationship is MUCH better than it was during the 'WUV' crap.

Iris-Barry obviously isn't going to happen for a while. They still have plenty of time to develop Iris's character before pulling that switch. She is in a similar place as Laurel in that the show keeps her away from the main action and put her odds with the main hero (and thus, the show itself) for pretty much no reason. With Laurel, however, it's worse because they've had three seasons and are only just starting to correct the issue. Iris, by comparison, hasn't done much and still has plenty of time to develop as a character.

Man, Plastique's actress was SO bad. Even if they bring back the character, I hope they cast someone else.

We need a super powered guy whose only super power is flipping, like infinity flipping in the air.
Don't worry. We can have The Top.

As for Gotham, I find that I end up liking it less as a Batman fan.

The show is really Penguin: Year One.

God "The Streak" is such a shit name. "The Arrow" was better.
Don't forget that Oliver's original alias was "The Hood."

Damn good episode, but it's disappointing that Plastique is dead.

And Clancy motherfucking Brown! Holy shit yes!!!!

HOLY SHIT! GRODD.

Goddamn, this show just keeps getting better and better. Almost feels like all the talent jumped ship from Arrow to this...

GRODD, fuck yes!

I don't know much about him, but he seems like an awesome villain :lol

and yeah, I'm still thinking that Wells is Professor Zoom. Too many hints.

I totally agree. Plus it's a tired old trope, and I was hoping they would mix things up and do something different with the show. But the whole last episode being about how much he wants to be with Iris but can't was a bit disheartening.

I'm totally on board for Barry/Caitlin. They do have much better chemistry, at the moment.

I'm really glad Joe didn't get mad at Barry after Barry went to see Iris as The Flash. I was getting tired of Joe getting mad at Barry every time.

Other then that, this was just an alright episode. There was a nice showcase of what Barry can do with his powers.

I already like it more than what Nolan did to Batman and Gotham.
Absolutely not.
For anything remotely decent(Bullock, Riddler, Penguin, Alfred after the latest episode)
There is a Selina crap or Barbara Gordon that is so bad it destroys any enjoyment.

Not to mention the upcoming appearance of Bette Kane(the original Batgirl) freaking being 20 years older than Batman.

At least with Nolan movies they turned a villain I always disliked into my absolute favorite(Ra's)

Great episode. I like how we get to see The Flash slowly developing his skills. First, running up buildings, then running on water....love it.

Also, it's a superhero movie....Plastique might not be dead. Perhaps reborn from the explosion, like a phoenix! They could write that in if they want.

Who else thought Plastique's death was anticlimactic?

Definitely. If it was a longer arc, they could have done so much more with it. It would've been great seeing Wells slowly convince her that killing Eiling was her only way out, maybe even sabotaging a possible solution. Spread it out over 2 or 3 episodes, could have been damn cool.

This is a comic book show. I highly highly doubt she's actually dead

Well the new Planet of the Apes films do, but of course that's with millions of dollars of special effects budget and Andy Serkis behind them...

And I don't think Plastique is confirmed dead. Remember, no body, no death.

I'm hoping he talks. Grodd should sound like a cultured badass.

Guys, guys don't forget that George of the Jungle Tech

Just watched the latest episode. Show is great along with everyone's character motivations except for Iris. The reason she keeps on being interested in writing about "The Streak" is just flat out stupid and weak.

Going back to an interesting subject, Jesse L. Martin was a freaking incredible catch for the Flash.

That man has always oozed charm, I freaking loved him on Law and Order, and I hate Law and Order. And his laugh at the voice changing was so damn genuine.

Just an all around great actor being put to great use on a superhero show.

I think Barry/Felicity have actually had the best chemistry so far.

We all know this is the best pairing but it won't happen. Still it'll make for a fun love triangle on crossover episodes.

Barry/Caitlin is what I'm pulling for to happen by Season 2. Just like how canonically on Arrow it was all about how much he LOVED Laurel and now it's like she barely exists to him, Flash will learn that Caitlin is a better choice due to performance and chemistry.

Soooo what future does Wells have in mind for Grodd? Since it seems hinted that in the original timeline he was experimented on by Eiling (which probably gave him a hatred of humanity) and in this one he ended the partnership with Eiling.

Wells seems set on creating the best Flash possible, by having him trained and taught the extent of his abilities, etc. He definitely was pissed that the Ice Gun was created and hated the idea of Plastique joining him as a good guy and sent her to her doom.

Him not stabbing Eiling at the end seems to indicate that either he has plans for Eiling or realizes that killing a government official who has visited him would be a really bad idea.

Would it be a dick-ish move to bump the Marvel SVP thread on announcing The Flash actor while the show is getting its legs now that its been 6 episodes and seems like that train hasn't stopped at all
