Synopsis for episode 7 released, cross over episode with Arrow.

PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT WITH THE FLASH AND ARROW — Barry(Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Patrick Sabongui), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to robbanks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stopBivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells(Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a newteam in S.T.A.R. Labs.

Damnit Olli, stop being a dick to people.

Supposedly that's how the character is in the comic.

Only saw him in TAS and he seemed like a righteous (yet cool) prick in that too.

Heard he's also a hypocrite so if that's all true the writers are at least keeping true to the character

:/

Spoilers for the crossover tease:

Ray
and not
Roy
?

I guess that could be confusing with
Roy Harper
but you can't make
Roy G. Bivolo (aka ROYGBIV aka the Rainbow Raider) without it being Roy.

I wonder if his emotion-manipulation powers will be color-coded and match the GL Emotional Spectrum. or if they just liked the name Bivolo.

We were absolutely spoiled for novelty in the episode, I'm almost afraid we'll take all the revelations for granted. We learned:
  1. Flash can run up walls and on water
  2. Joe knows Barry has romantic feelings for Iris and endorses it
  3. The military is aware of metahumans
  4. There are others who know that Wells has a dark side
  5. Eiling and Wells have a past
  6. Iris knows for a fact Flash exists
  7. Flash can modulate his voice
  8. Cisco has a pulse and Barry doesn't fall for every pretty face
  9. Grodd was in his cage and Wells had plans for him
...and probably more that I'm forgetting. If this were Smallville, it would take us a season to get all these revelations. I like the breakneck pace without holding anything back. Slightly disappointed that Plastique was comic-book killed... if only because an encounter with Firestorm is less likely or delayed. I know we were never going to get the militant Canadian suicide bomber who's origin stems from Firestorm turning her clothes into air to separate her from the explosives fused to her outfit (oh but imagine)... but we would get some nod to their past.

i love that they keep using actual DC villains in every ep, even if they are C-tier at most

edit: oh shit another Grodd tease... I cant believe they are going to do Grodd, although I still dont see how. But im excited

Probably more like two or three seasons at the pace Smallville went and half the cast would have brain damage from all the concussions they receive over the course of the seasons.

I remember the last season of Smallville. Every fight scene was people just throwing each other into chairs and walls.

I remain convinced that all the problems with character development Smallville had over the years are down to the writers secretly making a joke about all the brain damage.

That Grodd scene was top notch. But that Plastique actress-hoofa!

This whole Iris/The Streak storyline is just the pits. It's just so silly. "We need to talk to you about your blog."

It's the stupidest comic book trope ever.

"I want to protect you by keeping you in the dark. Oh look, you've just been almost murdered for the 18 billionth time anyway, BUT AT LEAST YOU'RE SAFE."

They need to stop the iris barry nonsense. It was hilarious how much it was trying to be Spiderman 1 last episode without any of the chemistry or charm.

Just watched the episodes to the Captain Cold origin one ...

So ... what is the gaf favorite theory
on what comic character is Dr Wells
?

He's very similar to Professor Zoom and Zoom. The Professor Zoom parallel being that he seems well aware of future events and is obsessed with the Flash. The Zoom parallel being that he wants to make Flash a better hero. He could be the real man in the yellow suit and the Eobard Thawne in the show could be a red herring.

I know the Flash is meant to be more light hearted and campy..

But its kind of turning me off how they struggle to convey the dialog naturally. The only actor that seems comfortable are the guys that play Wells and the Police Chief (i have no idea why my brain is blacking out the actual names)

I know this is the first season but between the acting and the logic leaps I seem to have a harder time getting into this than other shows.

I still love it and am going to impulse watch it. I just hope it goes through the same mature transitions that Arrow did

Jesus. Was Smallville really that badly paced? Superman is my favorite hero, but I never had the urge to watch Smallville oddly enough.

Well, they did stretch a premise that was originally intended to run five seasons into ten. I don't feel like writing a super long post here but yes. For example they stretched out Lana officially finding out without the BS of memory wipes or "resets" or any of that crap until past the half way point of
season six
conveniently the day Lana
married Lex
... Yeah. There were other supporting characters that found out before then but it still took awhile and one (
Pete, who found out early in season two
) got written out the next season where they were already marginalized in favor of another. Okay, stopping there, already wrote more than I intended to and I keep fighting going into a rant about how Lana was handled and the creepy obsession Millar and Gough seemed to have with Kristen Kruek and placing of Lana on a pedestal that has little to do with the show's pacing.

Am I crazy or didn't Barry run up a building in the Felicity episode to take that picture of her in the park?

Or did he just run up the stairs real fast?

That was my only "complaint" if you could call it one, also the dying right when trying to tell someone is evil is pretty lame haha

Up the stairs.

I'm guessing you don't watch Arrow? Shouldn't come as a surprise really.

I expect they're going to use the story point from the comics where
Tockman finds out that he wasn't terminally ill after all and that it was a doctor mix up to explain why he's still alive
.

I hope so. Loved him in Arrow and I hope he sticks around.
Maybe we'll even see him in the Suicide Squad.

Synopsis for episode 7 released, cross over episode with Arrow.

I over looked this but they made a mistake with who they say is cast to play
Ray Bivolo, seeing as Sabongui plays Captain Singh. It's supposedly Paul Anthony.
That along with it supposed to be the eighth episode, who wrote this up?

As mentioned in the Arrow thread I would jump in on this spin off as well, after having just finished Arrow S1 and S2.

I really liked The Flash when I were a kid and went to buy comic books with my dad on our trips to Germany. Funnily enough I never bought a comic book with him, so I have been super excited for this show.

Just finished the pilot and it was pretty good. Not fantastic I loved the effects besides when they zoomed all in on him and the enemy were goofy.

The girl had super much fun with him. She laughed out loud multiple times especially when Arrow showed up. That was cool.

But she couldn't hold it in when she saw Flash's suit which reminded her of Spider-Man and the enemy of Storm, which gave her flashbacks to Bronze Tiger which she thought were Wolverine.

We are gonna love this show! And I liked the pilot without it being anything mind blowing. :)

Well, idk if it matters or not, but Weather Wizard first appeared in 1959, and Storm first appeared in 1975.

But I'm glad your enjoying the show.

I like that they do acknowledge obvious things

"Barry she obviously knows what you sound like"

not to mention flash blurring his face cause even he knows the mask doesn't really hide anything.

Superman meets Lois: *politely answers her questions and takes her on a trip around the world*

Flash meets Iris: *is needlessly vague and mysterious. Basically tells her to "Fuck off."*

I feel casual comic fans are going to have a hard time adjusting to the fact that Marvel and DC have tons of analogous characters as more and more of their rosters show up on screen. lol

Super wouldn't have done that if Clark was getting friend zoned by Lois
