Loved this bit.

That was a wonderful scene and actually managed to stress me out. But the clouds the Weather Wizard could make out of his hands in the opening of this episode looked really weak, effects wise.
Yeah. I meant the ice balls looked crap. But all the other effects were top notch.Lightning looked great, and clouds looked like.. clouds... But agreed: the ice balls looked like shit.
To me that was the weakest part of the episode. It seemed very strange that Weather Wizard could just walk in like that, but what were even more strange to me, was when none of Joe's coworkers even notices that the Weather Wizard has arrived at the police station until Joe gets throwned through the glass.Wow, great episode. I loved that police station scene!

It just seemed so surreal and took me out of the moment. I couldn't stop looking to the background and see if anyone would even react but nope. That's my only issue.I ignored all of that and only cared about the power use. Seriously though, every single show and movie uses the trope of a known bad guy walking into the police station and people only caring when the protagonist spots them.

I think that scene between Wells and Cisco might be one of the best scenes I've seen on TV in the last few years. Rewatching it, the actors just killed it. Cisco realizing that he's dead, and that dread growing, and Wells' coldly revealing the truth, but you seeing cracks that he genuinely wishes the situation wasn't what it was.
Man, Cavanagh is just perfect as Wells/Eubord/Reverse Flash. Cause he doesn't feel like an out-and-out villain. You get the sense that he believes he's doing the right thing, even if it's kinda narcissistic (just to return home).
It's like when he calls Cisco the closest thing he has to a son, you genuinely believe cause he genuinely believes it.
Love that scene. I think it was in a deadline interview that said originally Cisco wasn't suppose to be crying. That was the actor's call and I don't think that scene is as effective without Cisco crying. So good call.
Kreisberg also revealed that the scenes real emotional impact was a product of a collaboration between the actors and writers. We didnt even script that [Cisco] cries; it was a notion that Tom and Carlos worked out where the minute Tom walks into the room, Carlos knows hes going to die. It wasnt even something we intended, its what they brought to it.
Loved this bit.

Well there's definitely more to it than Thawne wanting to get back to the future. After all, he did say they've been at this a long time.Does anyone know how much pre-planning goes into this show? Because right now if Wells' big plot was to just get back to his own time and he had to kill Barry in the past for some reason I'm really curious just why he was so concerned in those first few episodes with using his magic computer to make sure that barry was still around in the future or whatever
That one guy wouldn't even get off the phone. To me that was the weakest part of the episode. Eh, honestly most of the DC Animated movies are complete garbage that are just pandering to people who are already pretty big fans of the brand or characters. Flashpoint Paradox is fortunately not one of those and fairly well done...but I really wouldn't say most of them are.
Is it actually that good? I kinda bowed out of those after Dark Knight Returns, which was great, but I found most of the movies pretty meh if not bad and DKR seemed like a high note to finish on.
I loved Under the Red Hood, Wonder Woman, and DKR, and was lukewarm at best on all the others (though I kinda have a soft spot for Gotham Knight). Maybe I'll check out Flashpoint.
Especially that one guy. That one guy wouldn't even get off the phone.
Flash/Arrow GAF i ask thee:
Is there any overly dramatic romantic triangle scene that wouldn't be made better with Radioactive?
I don't recall Wally being mentioned on this show yet...?
I'm assuming 2024 Flash went back in time when he disappeared. We don't really know what happened there either.
I was mixing in old comic story with it. We know what happened though because the reason is the comic reason that was responsible for rebooting the DCU back in 1986.
Was the extended promo posted yet?

Remember spoiler tag discussion and all that.
Central police cops are the worse and they have proven again how useless they are.
flashpoint is when barry goes back in time and manages to save his mom, so everything changes
Barry goes back to save his mom, resulting in a drastically altered timeline. I.e. Bruce Wayne was killed and Thomas became a Batman who has no qualms about killing
It could take work in the Arrowverse. It's the only way I could see them topping this episode
It was a comic (now an animated movie) about how Flash went back to save him mom from dying but in doing so caused a massive ripple that affected the lives of a lot people including various super heroes. The focal point is on a war between Atlanteans (led by Aquaman) and Amazons (led by Wonder Woman) that has caused major catostrophe in the world.
It's a great storyline, at least watch the animated movie "Flashpoint Paradox". I don't think the TV series will follow that exact storyline because it involves a lot of other heroes and would require like a huge budget to represent that scope but they can take some cues from it.

Go watch this move right now.
it seems they are building up to it. The future newpaper talks about red skies. Flashpoint was the jumping off point for DC to relaunch its brand into The New 52.
Go watch the Flashpoint Paradox like right now. Right now.
Nice episode !
But do they really expect us to believe that all the awesomeness that happened in the episode will stick?with Barry going back in time xD
Wait until Bart Allen comes into the picture.I think the idea will be that, sure, he changes things... but there are consequences. Other things, just as bad if not worse, will occur for doing that.
It's kind of like with Wells:
He came back in time to kill Flash as a kid for whatever nebulous reason. Instead, he wound up killing Nora by accident. He then builds the particle accelerator to give Barry his abilities, except there's the side effect of giving potentially dozens, if not hundreds, of people powers at the same time. Not only that, he causes the Flash to emerge earlier, but now he's given him additional motivation to take the Reverse-Flash down: the murder of his mother and the massive betrayal of him and the entire STAR team, along with the fact that as a bad guy, Barry would have tried to stop him regardless cause it seems like he is always destined to become a hero.
So... don't fuck with time.
Spoiler tags are a thing. Use them.Spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler don't read if you didn't watch the season trailer

Having seen all but Superman Unbound and Throne of Atlantis I can honestly say that I only thought two were trash, and that's Gotham Knight, and Assault on Arkham (and that really is its own class of putrid rubbish because at least Gotham Knight had some redeeming bits.)
So I guess what I'm wondering.
Is there actually a real Dr. Wells that Thawne probably killed and took the place of?
If there was a real Dr. Wells, was the particle accelerator actually Wells' idea or Thawne's idea to give Barry powers?
But Assault on Arkham was pretty good and got me hyped for Suicide SquadHaving seen all but Superman Unbound and Throne of Atlantis I can honestly say that I only thought two were trash, and that's Gotham Knight, and Assault on Arkham (and that really is its own class of putrid rubbish because at least Gotham Knight had some redeeming bits.)
You seem to be of similar mind on this subject so I'll say this: people here are probably overhyping Flashpoint Paradox. That said, I found the exact films you pointed out (along with Flashpoint) to be the ones I enjoyed/thought were good while the rest were pretty bad. I think Flashpoint isn't as good as Red Hood, WW, or DKR...but between them and the rest of the garbage in quality.
Thanks you guys -guess i will be watching the Movie as soon as possible...hope it doesnt spoil the current show too much though. I like not knowing what the characters true intentions are.
