One of the best TV costumes i've seen
How come the DC shows are making messes of costumes left and right, and yet manage to nail Jay?
how will they explain the style of the costume? Will it be the 40's era where Jay is from?
It's a reference to the Greek messenger god, Hermes. As someone who never read the comics . . . this looks goofy as fuck. What's keeping the clunky metal helmet from flying off? The rest is OK but the helmet is just goofy.

it's kinda hard to fuck up a costume as basic as Jay Garrick though. One of the best TV costumes i've seen
he does look great though! I just wish -- much like I do for Barry -- that the red was lighter.

I'm halfway through season 1 of this show and it is SO MUCH better than Arrow. And I want to list a few reasons why:
1. Acting, I really think the acting overall here is a notch above what we have seen on Arrow. Every actor really grows into their own character. There aren't any "Laurel" or "Thea" stuff going on here where they are inconsistent almost episode to episode.
2. Extremely good supporting cast. Unlike Arrow, I love every single support cast character, even Eddie Thawn is such a likable dude (even when you know he's supposed to Barry's 'rival' for Iris). Joe West is one of the best "father-figure" characters, Harrison Wells, Cisco are all awesome. There are no annoying characters who scream and whine.
3. Every cast member seems important. You really do care about the supporting cast in Flash. Unlike Arrow, where characters like Felicity or Diggle seem useless and just stand there and talk and talk and talk and talk. And Roy was severely underused and brooded nonstop.
3. It's funny as hell, especially when you don't expect it. Cisco is a great comedy-relief character (even though that's not who he is). Even Barry himself has great comedy timing.
4. The freak-of-the-week stuff is better. All the villains are fun, and they seem like good people who just want to challenge the Flash, just cuz they can. Not because they want to become some mob boss or take over the city or some nonsense like that. Even if you take Harrison Wells off the show, you can just have freak episodes and it will still be better than Arrow.
5. Harrison Wells. Ok, it's a toss up between him and Slade Wilson. I'm only halfway through the season he's not better than Slade yet, but he might surpass him by season's end.
6. Special Effects. Ok, sometimes they look crappy but there are other times they really surprised me (the train scene). It takes a dump over Arrow's "special effects".
7. The story. All this science-fiction mystery is definitely better than Arrow's "Batman" stuff. Hell, I think Flash's flashbacks are really good too. The best parts of Arrow were the Island flashbacks, I thought they should have focused way more on the Island instead of the present day stuff, but I enjoyed what it was.
I'm gonna try to finish the season this weekend, I know I will be blown away.
The only thing I'd change about Barry is not having the emblem look like a button he got off an oversized birthday card anymore. Woven into the fabric would be sweet

And yeah the red could be lighter.
Jay Garrick is supposed to look goofy and old fashioned. He hails from the golden age of the 40's which was a simpler time for super heroes.
A couple more shots of Jay:

I get that, I just don't get people saying it looks good . . . it's goofy and completely nonfunctional. I guess it's just a case of people judging based on closeness to source material rather than if it looks good or makes sense.
Welcome to the Club.
Oh my goooooooood it looks AWESOME!
The helmet could at least have a strap or something holding it on.
I will accept black holes and time travel, but that hat not flying off when he runs is BS.
Pants, he needs them slim fits.
No one has ever said that they are "hyped" for Doctor Arthur Light.Forget Killer Frost, I'm hyped for Doctor Light.
Can't believe I missed three pages of this thread.

NeoGAF's one and only Reverse Flash checking in. Don't accept cheap imitations.
But BKatastrophe is the true Reverse Flash though.
We've been at this a long time, him and I, but I'm always one step ahead.
He wants to play Terry McGinnis. Which would be awesome, other than the age.
You must've missed the part where Iris is a non-factor for most of the first season. No different from how Arrow treats the women on their show sometimes.I'm halfway through season 1 of this show and it is SO MUCH better than Arrow. And I want to list a few reasons why:

You were junior'd? lol
Lol. That makes the Arrow thread even funnier.Yes, for deceiving the thousands of Gaffers who were shocked that the revival of cult hit Felicity 13 years on wasn't actually true.
