Cannot find any info about it, but I think that he has 30+ %Lucius86 said:How much did he have?
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/95295Indian sports promoter Sahara India Pariwar has taken a 42.5 per cent shareholding in the Force India team, which will be renamed Sahara Force India.
The $100 million deal was announced at a press conference in New Delhi today. Team principal Vijay Mallya retains 42.5 per cent ownership, with the remaining 15 per cent share remaining in the hands of the Mol family, who became co-owners during the squad's Spyker era.

Yup. Place is going to be an embarrassment this weekend.Ark said:I'd be surprised if Korea even stay on the calendar until the end of their contract.
Just another country that doesn't seem to give a damn about F1. Singapore have also expressed their desire to cancel their contract and could be following Turkey out of the back door into the great malebolge full of former F1 hosts.Ark said:Mallya sold 42.5% to the Sahara company and still retained 42.5% himself with another 15% to some other guy (Michael something?). Hopefully this means we'll see Force India finishing a lot higher in coming years

Looks like they really never used it again, after the race last year. And there must be still a lot of maintaining costs. Crazy.Leunam said:It looks like the track has gotten worse since last season. Doesn't look like much upkeep was done on the track judging by a couple of photos.

Can Bernie just die yet?
That's not Bernies fault. Well, not directly. The owner can't afford it to host F1 every year.Foliorum Viridum said:And yet there's talking of making a track like Spa alternate years.

The thing is, who would replace him? I don't think his two daughters are in line for that role. I'm finding the thought of F1 post Bernie quite confusing. We could get someone even worse and you know what they say; better the devil you know.Foliorum Viridum said:And yet there's talking of making a track like Spa alternate years.

Leunam said:This is so god damn stupid. All sorts of tracks around the world, old and new, have problems with revenue, and they decide to open a track in Korea which only sees use once a year?
There must be some confusion.

His family got the commercial rights for the next 100 years. No, that's not a joke. Unless I got it wrong.Edmond Dantès said:The thing is, who would replace him? The new rules introduce a separation of commercial and regulatory activities in motor sport, which FIA intends to make effective, inter alia, through the appointment as from 2010 of a "commercial rights holder" for 100 years, for each of the FIA Formula One and FIA World Rally Championships, in exchange of one-off fixed fee, payable at the outset.
Basically, Bernie - or better to say Slavica and her daughters Petra and Tamara with still unborn grandchildren - will be in control of the F1 sport for the next century as long as commercial rights are in question.
Would have been nice to get away from Bernie's grip, but it wasn't really viable. Like it or not, but Bernie is the glue that holds everything together. Without him the manufacturers would tear each other to shreds.Xun said:Because I wasn't really posting in the F1 threads back then, how would you guys of felt with a breakaway championship?
I personally wouldn't of minded it even if it would've been a shame to see the Formula One name vanish.
What puzzels me the most is this - why drivers stay mile away from Bernie's daughters? Someone should take one for the teambrotkasten said:His family got the commercial rights for the next 100 years. No, that's not a joke. Unless I got it wrong.
Playing with the daughter of your boss and your soon-to-be boss can end pretty bad for your career.DrM said:What puzzels me the most is this - why drivers stay mile away from Bernie's daughters? Someone should take one for the team![]()

They all hope he'll break up with Horner. Everyone sees that the relationship between them isn't working. Everyone, but him.Foliorum Viridum said:They all beg Bernie to get a piece of Webber for them.
You know, there are some scary parallels between the current F1 season and the first Mortal Kombat movie. For example, Webber is clearly Raiden. A god. Doesn't win the tournament but provides inspiration and support for he who does, Liu Kang (Vettel). Hamilton is Johnny Cage. Bernie is Shao Kahn.Foliorum Viridum said:They all beg Bernie to get a piece of Webber for them.

Which makes you Vettel? That's cool. I'm happy being the number one fan, which makes you the number two which then makes you the number one and then me the number two. Just like Mark Webber.Lucius86 said:I'm happy to be the number 2 fan - which makes me the number 1 fan really.
