seems fairly vague thou.
How i understand it they just need a fancier ECU that can store more settings and then they can flip the switch on the wheel after the start

I think they ECU is a common part across all cars supplied by McLaren which the FIA has control over & access to. They must be looking at what the teams are doing to it before the race on Sunday and wanting to change it.

Thanks man, that sure will keep me busy for awhile... Best race to start with?

You have to make sure you watch Brazil 2009. That was a great race, not one of the all time greatest, but it's one of the most memorable races for me in the last few years.

Kobayashi really made a name for himself in that race.

F1 Considers Move to V6 Turbos

The Formula 1 Commission is set to be asked to consider switching the sport's future engines to 1.6-litre V6 turbos in a bid to end the ongoing stalemate about future regulations, AUTOSPORT has learned.

Ahead of a crunch meeting in London today to discuss engine regulations for 2013, amid disagreement between manufacturers over plans to move to 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines, it is understood that a final push has been made by the car makers to find a solution that is acceptable to all the sport's stakeholders.

Looks to all but official now. Even Renault have agreed to the new engine format and the extra year delay.
So looks like it will be 600HP 1.6 V6 Turbo with 160HP KERS unit.

I'm wondering now if McLaren be tempted to design and build an engine & will any new manufacturers come in also.

I thought VW was interested in a deal with RBR for V6 engines?

The wording is a bit confusing on some of those answers.
It's Mika right? That's what I put.

That's what I thought as well, but now I am confused as the
Schumacher
one also seems to be correct...

Yeah exactly my thought. The wording is terrible.

It doesn't take much to work out that it's asking you if Schumacher ever won at Valencia, which is impossible since the circuit was only certified in 2007.

Google is your friend.

That's not what it is asking, it wants to know if Valencia(& India) is the only track he hasn't won at,
& as he never won in Turkey(I think) the Hakkinen answer is correct

Fact is, the question is asking whether Schumacher has won at Valencia or not..

"The Valencia circuit is the only track (alongside the one in India) where Michael Schumacher never won"

It's asking whether this statement is correct.

For it to be true it would mean Schumacher must have won on every other track. But it's not clear whether it means every other circuit on the calendar, or in existence.... it's a badly worded but it can't be the Schumacher one if the Mika one is also correct...

If you're being 100% literal then sure, but I automatically correct them in my head.

Every engine manufacturer just breathed a sigh of relief, it would have been a massive rush to get an I4 done in time.

This V6 should keep the tree huggers happy as well as the petrol heads.

No problem on the wording because
the Turkish GP was on calendar this year and Schumacher has never won there.

I love it that a 1.6-liter V6 engine is roughly 0.75 as large as a six-pack of soda, which naturally means that each cylinder is roughly 0.75 as large as a single can.

Former Ferrari driver Eddie Irvine has criticised Lewis Hamilton's recent on- and off-track behaviour. The Northern Irishman said: "I'm a genuine Lewis fan - he's the only guy in F1 at the moment worth watching - but I think he's lost the plot. I don't think he's surrounded by the best people he could be, and I think he's lost respect for the other drivers." Irvine added that his former team-mate Michael Schumacher "has just lost his talent".

Haha. <3

He was great character.

It's a shame that most of the current drivers come off as PR trained automatons.
Current youngins, I think. Webber (obv, <3), Button and Kobay (to name a few) seem far more natural and less primadonna-esque than drivers like Vettel, Hamilton and others. The first three also have far more experience in upper-tier racing (at least, Webs and Button) which probably shows in their off-field and race weekend behaviour.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Almost seemed like it got swept under the rug.

Sutil Plays Down Speculation Over Drive as Lux Files Official Criminal Complaint

The German driver is alleged to have injured Lux during an incident between the pair in a nightclub in China two months ago, but when asked during a pre-European Grand Prix media briefing whether he thought news of the complaint would affect his position with Force India, Sutil replied: "Why should I lose my drive. That's a private thing and this is my work here, so..."

A spokesman for the Munish State Prosecutor confirmed on Thursday morning that there was a pending complaint for grievous bodily harm against Sutil.

Force India owner Vijay Mallya last month indicated that Sutil's drive could possibly be under threat should Lux file charges.

But when asked about this Sutil replied: "Well it depends what is the truth. We want to hear the truth and we hope we are going to know that very soon."

Well Eric Lux definitely looks like he got stabbed in the neck.

That brake system is entirely enclosed apart from the cooling duct. I don't think I've ever seen that in any form of racing.
Hmm, interesting! Is it new (for this weekend)?
