Fia and perreli have been bending down for these teams all year now. This sucks.
How come they dont have to live with the consequences if they fuck up. Im glad its mclaren as well, because if it was red bull alone asking for this, this thread would be unbearable.

Anyhow im hyped for the race.

From Andrew Benson twitter:
Red Bull had asked for fresh tyres because both cars blistered fronts. They're not going to get them. Bad news for Vett and Web

Let's be realistic, Spa just hasn't been making enough money to pay for the race every year. For the last few years I remember seeing articles each Spa weekend that Spa is losing money because people aren't turning up.

It's sad to see Spa go, but at least it's being replaced by another half-decent track.
So is Melbourne. I hope it doesn't have the same fate :(

Any word on McLaren? So much conflicting information out there at the moment and only 1 hour till race.

Confirmation from Hembrey - no change in tyre regs. Drivers in top 10 start on those on which they qualified. Any change, start from pitlane

Affected teams from our news reporter - RBR, Mercedes and STR. Mclaren in lesser extent.

WOW.
This could a massive moment in the championship.

Red Bull either start from the back or fall back with tyres that will be eating themselves up too quickly.
They will be praying for rain ASAP to nullify this.

"Now we're hearing that the 17 tyres will not be used for some reason which Red Bull are not happy with as their tyres are the worst. #F1"

Hope it's true!

Can you post the link as well when you post things like that please.

Why would RBR and Mclaren even ask for new tyres, it doesn't make sense, surely it would have been seen as an advantage that they are allowed new tyres for the race.

Wouldn't they have known about the blistering from the first practice sessions? Shouldn't RBR and McL have accounted for it accordingly?

Anyway, I'm in the same boat as Psychotext. They knew the suggested max camber from Pirelli and didn't follow. dealwithit.gif

Its the new tyres, everything is new to the teams. But i dont think they should be granted new tyres. They took the risk so they should live with it.

From the BBC's Andrew Benson

"There has been a bit of a brewing controversy this morning. Both Red Bulls blistered both front tyres in qualifying, and the team asked to be allowed fresh tyres on safety grounds. Pirelli brought 17 new tyres to the track 'for possible use'. But race director Charlie Whiting has decided not to allow the teams to use them. So Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will start the race on tyres that have much less grip. They will be slow and probably have to stop early. If they want to change tyres, they have to start from the pits. Lewis Hamilton and Jaime Alguersuari also have blisters - but only on one tyre, we believe."

#F1 Mugello will make its way back into F1 next season as it becomes the first notified test session for the 2012 season

What will in season testing mean for the teams?
Should any team have a advantage over the other?

Does this mean they can change the camber to reduce blistering on hamiltons car?
If he had blistering only on the right tyre, it could appear due to damaged suspension in collision with Maldonado.

I really hope the tires issue is not that big. I'd hate to see webber or vettel crash or what ever because of the tires.

Im excited to see shumi have a nice start. I expect Alonso to have a nice start as well.

Don't worry, they'll pull something out of the bag and still get in the top 5 somehow.
Webber will, anyway. Will pit early, lose places yet gun it through the pack like the supreme being that he is. Vettel will get lost in the pack and get stuck there, narrowly missing out on points.

Most likely webber will be 6th by the first corner.

Lewis didn't turn in at all, he didn't make a sudden movement when Pastor hit him.

To be fair, he did turn the wheel, but that was for the wheel spin (which you could hear on the replay).

Webber to win every race and the championship now.
