Assuming Kubica will return to Renault in the future (not necessarily next season), how would that affect Senna since they want to put him in a seat to please the Brazilian sponsors?

Kubica returns as test/reserve driver confirmed :p

I'm hoping Senna has some great races this year because I want him to stay and Petrov to get replaced. Hate is a strong word but I really dislike Petrov.

Interest from Ferrari? Really? I thought Massa already signed a contract.
Means very little. Massa's contract can be bought out and we dont know that there's any performance clauses in his contract that leave Ferrari with an easy out, either.

Personally, I'd welcome Button to Ferrari. He may not have spectacular speed, but his racecraft is very good and he's always a good bet to get a decent result. This is something that Ferrari need right now. Massa isn't bad, but he's not doing enough to justify his position within the team in my opinion. Massa's best finish this year is a 5th while Alonso has SIX podiums and a win. Thats too large a discrepancy, even accounting for Alonso's talent.

Petrov brings more money than Senna and Russia is a place that Renault really wants to tackle in terms of road cars. I dont see Senna replacing Petrov no matter. I think Petrov is a shoe-in for Renault next year, so the real question is who gets the other seat if Kubica doesn't come back.....

Is it wrong to think that they just kept Massa out of sympathy, pity and PR reasons?

No. Sad to say, but I get the same feeling. His results haven't been god-awful but it looks like he's not what he used to be. :(

We're talking about Ferrari here. I mean, while some people exaggerate how 'evil' the team is, there is definitely a degree of accuracy in saying that Ferrari can be selfish and unsympathetic if things dont suit them. They wouldn't hold on to Massa out of pity, I'm sure.

As for Massa not being what he used to be, remember how Massa was rated before Kimi arrived at Ferrari. Remember how he looked against Schumi. I think what we're seeing is a Massa driving to his normal standards, but his benchmark(Alonso) has just been raised to a degree that Massa no longer looks as good. Its the most simple explanation, in my opinion.

If Button went to Ferrari, he'd probably get along just fine with Alonso but he'd be stuck playing second fiddle.

Besides that, I wouldn't be able to get used to seeing him in anything over than white overalls.

Yep, nothing beats Rosberg's Silverstone correction this year though.
Yes, Nico's correction at Silverstone was incredible. I was trying to find a video but couldn't.

Just now watching fp2. I am always impressed by the speed of Monza. 3.6 miles in 1:24 is so freaking fast. My roommate got to go to Singapore on business and is going to be there a couple of days before the GP. I told him he should use some vacation days to stay longer and go to the race but he isn't doing it. He has never been to a F1 GP. I wanted to live vicariously through him. :(

Track day lovers all around the world just started salivating.

Does anyone here watch Dragons Den? There was some guy on there last week from 'AB Performance LTD' or something that sells, maintains and repairs a £25,000 road legal race car o__o

Was he successful with his pitch? Seems like an interesting business.

He got two offers and took the one Jones offered him. Only reason the guy had started up the business in the first place was because he broke his spine in three places and shattered a knee during a race.

Just to keep this post on-topic:

Go Monza!

You'll enjoy his conversing with Schumacher and Alonso, who seem to have the utmost respect for him. It's really quite heartwarming to see.

There really is nothing like the respectful community of motorsport compared to other sports in the world.

As an American fan the only thing I know about Murray are the Murrayisms. Cool to see why he's held in such high regard.

It's funny, motorsport (particularly F1 and Le Mans) is huge in the UK, yet it still gets drowned out by football and Rugby.
