I keep hearing this all the time so let me address it.
The truth is you have to put things into context. Gurl has been in the business for 30 years. She literally broke all the records that exist to date. Even in middle age, she paves the way for the new tarts that follow (if they're lucky). After everything she's done I can't blame because she felt the need to go get herself a family and kids. Let's forget for a moment that her marriage fell to pieces, at least it wasn't for lack of trying. For all intents and purposes she became a housewife with kids... in the UK. Then she got it in her head that in spite of Hollywood (and the public's) blatant rejection of her acting attempts she still wanted to work in films * negative man gif *. I can't blame her for trying tbh, she's entitled to do whatever she wants.
But some people after all these year and all her accomplishments still feels that she owes them something and they lash out at her for not giving her all to them in her music. Name an artist who has managed to stay relevant for 30 years without stumbles along the way. Madonna has had many, but she's the queen of comebacks so I always take her purported demise with a smile.
At the same time I recognize where she's at in her life. Personally, I am more than satisfied with her output as of late. Sure, it'd be nice to have her dominate the charts as she used to but quite honestly I really don't care about that. I've always been a fan of her music and her voice. She could have been a lesser pop star and I would have stanned for her just the same. It's just a nice coincidence she happens to be the Queen of the Universe.

Not the flawless masterpiece of her career but nowhere near the disaster that you guys make it out to be. It's a damn good record for anyone 30 years into her career - even a Madonna record - and that's the measure I use to grade it.

If MDNA was put out by any other artist it would be ignored for the flop album that it is. Oh wait it WAS ignored for the flop album it is. Giving aural abortions like Superstar and B-Day Song 7s and 8s is surely some kind of JOKE.
It was the same story with Hard Candy. At the time Madonna stans herald it as a return to form, by the time her next half-ass album rolls around they're ready to admit it was crap and the new one will be great.
And don't give me any 'oh 30 years in she's allowed to put out crap albums, oh she's got kids and stuff', because my fave is releasing music as good as anything she's created so far and she's about as far into her career as Madonna is into hers. And she's brought up kids in the meantime.
Show the GOOD GRACE that your fave wont and drop the DELUSIONS tbh.

Give "I'm Addicted" a five and put "Gang Bang" in the recycle bin and you have a score I can agree with.
The problem for me with Madonna is that, yeah, while she is in the golden years of her career and can do whatever she wants and still have the adoration she spent that last few decades building up, SHE doesn't seem to want to be ok with that.
When she picks fights with new acts for biting her style and makes it the focal point of an entire era; and when she works with producers to make "current" music and "current" music videos she puts herself in the position of still trying to be creatively relevant.
That's when you have to take MDNA to task for being the piece of shit that it is.
If she wants to be in the Bon Jovi/Bruce Springsteen/Neil Diamond lane (i.e. National Relics), then she needs to get in it and just stick to touring. Release an album of covers or some shit.
But Madonna puts herself out there as a relevant, current, hit-making artist. And...well...that shit ain't been true for a while. And the sad thing is it COULD be true - I still believe Madonna has it in her to make great music - but she just doesn't put forth the effort for that to ever happen.
She wants to have her cake and eat it too, basically.
