Sersiously, it's not even close. That's kind of why I hate the Patrick/Ryan ER. Nothing against them, but it just means Jeff/Vinny won't do another ER anytime soon because they'll say 'oh well we just had one'
 
Jeff really doesn't seem interested in an ER either way, so without the Chrono Trigger ER, the replacement probably would've been nothing.

They've said multiple times they'll only do Endurance Runs when they want to, whether that be because a certain game comes around that they think they'd like to do or whatever. There's no point in them doing one just because people keep asking.

So if Jeff and Vinny were or are going to do one they will, I doubt the proximity to the last ER would have much effect.

But Jeff hasnt been interesting in anything other then saints row for over a year.

At this point I think a ER will be the only way to get him excited about something again. If he has to play something for a long period of time maybe he will like it.


Or maybe they can do something different and do a 24 hour endurance stream instead.


But anyway a new ER should wait until the summer. Last summer the site was DEAD because of the lack of content with no ER since the Endurance run's filled in the summer gap the 2 previous years.

He played TOR for 100 hours and then Reckoning for 60 hours right after.

and trackmania for 30000 hours, of course.
 
Both ER's featuring Vinny and Jeff are the highlights of the site IMO. Them two are like peanut butter and jelly.
 
Honestly, I hope it is Vinny Jeff again, but I think the next game absolutely needs voiced dialogue since, as we found out in the Chrono Trigger endurance run, some people either won't read the text at all which will result in unneeded frustration by the viewers and those playing, or they will ignore the story.
 
Chrono Trigger was a pretty crappy choice. I enjoy the ER for it, but it's missing something without voice acting for them to comment to.

Meh I fully enjoyed it, I never beat Chrono Trigger so it was fun to watch them play through it. Also even having not done some of the battles, was fun to watch them fuck up on simple things they were ignoring.

BLECH. Jeff certainly comes off as jaded/cynical at times, but this post is just BLECH. Trackmania, Mortal Kombat, fuck, even those Rhythm games for the Wii? Hell, he even seems to really enjoy Star Trek Online despite its flaws.

You couldn't be more wrong. You are as jaded about Jeff as you think he is about games.
 
Aha! Is this our chance?

I've only got about 30 episodes of the Persona 4 ER left, and I'm really gonna miss it when I'm done. Like Deadly Premonition, I got into a comfortable pattern of watching 1 (or 2 if one's particularly short) a day, and I adore pretty much every character. Jeff + Vinny only serve to accentuate the brilliance

I'll annualized my subscription if they keep playing and finish The Ripper. I haven't laughted that much since Phantasmagoria.

I thought it looked pretty cool but I've never played the original. The fact that you can easily synchronize actions between different characters impressed me.

Turn based combat is good in theory, but it stops being enjoyable the second you're against a lot more enemies than what you have yourself. This was big problem in games like Fallout 1, where you could end up sitting through 5 - 6 enemies turns before you'd get to move yourself.

That was a huge problem with Fallout 1 / 2 but honestly I think it could be solved just by adding a fast-forward function of some kind (to speed up / skip animations).

I always turned up the animation speed in Fallout 1 and 2, the default was way too low.

It also helped if you didn't start fights in towns so you wouldn't be fighting 300 people at once. :P

Even with maximum animation speed, when there were like 8-10 enemies on screen the combat would go pretty slow.
 
Not looking forward to that Vita quick look. I'm pretty sure they're going to rip it apart. I'm glad I don't care about their opinions when it comes to handhelds.
 
Preemptive damage control. The next few weeks are going to be horrible.
 
They don't have a way to do direct video feed so there might not be any quick looks.

Edit: Nevermind, I see a Quick Look Live scheduled for the Vita tomorrow at 2pm eastern.

The OS is pretty unique, so they could spend a good 30 minutes just showing off just that, along with the basic console layout. Tested did similar stuff for the launch of some phones, tablets, and the release of Lion last year.
 
I don't think they'll be that negative, I'm sure for everything they put out Patrick will be in the back shouting they've learnt nothing from Apple, but that's about it.

Speaking of Vita Quick Looks and horribleness in threads, I'm already anticipating the inevitable Persona 4: The Golden Quick Look. It's going to be the Persona 3 Portable QL all over again.
