Been trying to find a good place to post this, so I guess this is as good a place as any:

Ryan has become far more likable lately, as he was in the beginning of Giant Bomb. There was a (too) long stretch where he fell into this "be a dick" joke—treating interns crappy, lashing out on Twitter, being mean to coworkers, etc—which never rubbed me the wrong way enough to whine like people do about Patrick and Kessler, but it did get old real fast. I had really liked Ryan when I first came to the site, but when he was beating that dead horse of a joke I found myself getting annoyed with him, to say the least.

But, the awesome Ryan is back! He's funny and happy at the same time and I couldn't be happier about it. I think it's due to Chrono Trigger warming his cold, dead heart (or that he now has a girlfriend), but whatever the reason I'm happy to see spirited, wacky, light-hearted Ryan back.

I totally haven't noticed a difference. lol But I never really saw Ryan being an asshole outside of his treatment of the interns.

I completely agree.

He's as much of an asshole as ever from where I'm standing.

You're like this thread's Matt Kessler.

so the secret best member, the one who holds everything together

look at the shambles of an operation they've been running since he left

You forgot to retweet a dozen unfunny tweets before that point.

"okay internet people i know that activision literally coming to your house and murdering your dog is "unforgivable", but maybe you shouldn't have left him out?"

"@otherjournalist i don't know i guess personal responsibility is lost on some people!"

"@otherjournalist totally agree. guess some people like to blame the big names for everything."

The other day he went on a warpath because some people had suggested Half-Life 2 still holds up. Christ.

I CAN'T GET AWAY FROM IT.

Seriously though, being ignorant to his Twitter account is the only way to remain liking him.

I loved Happy Hour. It was silly and fun and a good way to end the week. Will and Norm's crazy, Odyssey of the Mind style challenges were awesome. I'm glad it's coming back, even if only for this week.

Wait what? *checks*

Oh, the HL2 thing on Friday? I thought it sounded dumb too, until I actually read what people were saying. Nobody has any illusions that it's going to get HL3 suddenly released, they just wanted to do a fun thing in which they told Valve they still cared about the series without doing anything stupid like internet petitions or twitterbombing. They are fully aware that at most, in the most optimistic of scenarios, they might get someone to say something like, "Yeah we've got something for you in the future."

But it's something on the Internet*, so Ryan feels the need to condescendingly disagree and strawman on principle.

Yeah I like his Twitter. Although the stuff EmCee pointed out is annoying. Seems like they just don't like bitching in general (valid viewpoint, even the most justified complaints are still, well, complaints).

I had a dream a couple nights ago that Vinny and Dave were doing a Baldur's Gate Endurance Run. I'm a peace loving, nonviolent person but I'm pretty sure I would commit murder to see that happen in reality.
