The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

I really wish they would make a remaster of the GameCube game Senshitachi no Kiseki...
That game was friggin amazing.

Oh man, that brings back memories. I really wanted that game and was awaiting its western release. little did I know at that time how many games were trapped in Japan.

It was one of the first games I ever imported. I ordered it off Play-Asia (after learning PA was a thing) when it was on really low price sale (like less than $20) with my mother's credit card, and then waited over a month for it to arrive.
And then it finally did... The day I was leaving for a two week trip, lol... So had to wait another two weeks before I could finally play it.

It also really helped capture the feel of piloting a mobile suit, and the strategy of each mission (modifying White Base's flight path, using it to repair and restock ammo)... And also had to strategize, 'cause getting hit by the Jet Stream Attack in the stage with the Black Tri-Stars friggin SUCKED).

Probably one of the best "sim-like" Gundam games ever. Space battles felt proper. And OMG that newtype pressure! Great way to visualize and game-ify it.

Yooooo they're reprinting all the old rare as shit HG AGE kits.

Hey Gundam-GAF, how long are the original Thunderbolt episodes? It looks really good and I'm tempted to get the blu-ray coming out soon, but it's the 70 minute director's cut version as opposed to four separate episodes (I think) so hopefully that version isn't missing too much.

I'm guessing the original four episodes were only around 20 minutes each?

The Thunderbolt director's cut is supposed to have additional scenes that aren't in the individual episodes, so it should be a more comprehensive version.

Ohh didn't know that, nice.

Haven't been keeping up with Gundam lately, but I keep hearing that Thunderbolt is good. And the blu-ray package sounds neat.

So they are releasing new Build Fighters designs and Kits. Possibly from the OVA?

Ricardo seems to have moved from Wing to OO as there is a OOQ that has his color scheme.

So...I don't know if this is the right place for this (seems like it might be), but I want to start watching or attempt to get into the Gundam anime. Lately, Austin Walker has been talking about Gundam a lot, so I figured I'd give it a try. I want to start with the earliest stuff and see how it goes from there. Only problem is, I can't seem to find any legal way to watch it that doesn't involve throwing $45-$50 on a Blu-Ray set. I don't really want to spend this much money on something I'm not even sure I'm going to enjoy, but I want to give it a shot. Does anyone know where I can watch the first few episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam legally?

I don't think Gundam: 0079 is streaming anywhere legally. You can watch the new series Iron Blooded Orphans though it has very little to do with past Gundam shows and it streams on Crunchyroll. If you want to be shady I'm sure someone has a few episodes of the original series on youtube

Nasty, I'm buying two of his Custom Wings in protest. If it was Exia I'd understand but 00? Ain't the Meijin.

Oh man, I have 4 variations of wing HGs, here's hoping I can get more custom ones.

Pre-ordered Thunderbolt, but while doing so found out that the Japanese Origin blu-rays all have English subs & the dub (I need to keep up with this stuff). Ordered all three!

Banagher conversations always are the best thing with this gundam. The fight they were having bordered on being funny but also really emotional and really makes Banagher top tier gundam protagonists. I rewatched the scene three times because it was so good and emotional. The way he was moving even and the lines, everything about it. I teared up. Especially this moment!

Then Banagher and Ms Loni moments.
screw you Riddhe for interuppting, Banagher was trying even.

Also the ost is still amazing, how the tracks rolled into each other in the whole action scene when he's facing Loni, really good.

As usual, FUCK RIDDHE! No place for people redeeming themselves in his heart. Interruption?! He destroyed Loni's hopes for life!

This is the point where he becomes a full on shitbag.

If a SRW game retconned him into being a misogynistic homicidal sociopath I wouldn't be surprised.

The two problems I have with Unicorn is
Full Frontal not being fleshed out enough (needed backstory for him bad), and Riddhe being a shitbag. He doesn't come across as a realistically conflicted person. He never seems to be bothered by the terrible things he does.

same thing. i also thought it was B.S. that everyone thinking he was Char one moment then magically everyone knew to call him FULL Frontal out of no where. Riddhe just was an unrealistic heel turn. poor character development.

When he took off his mask, I honestly never knew if he was supposed to look like Char or not. lol I might read the books if I can get ahold of them.

At least for this part, I can't really consider Riddhe's actions wrong. His personality during this whole scene might have been pretty shitty because he didn't believe Banagher's talk would work, but Riddhe did give him a chance to talk to Loni. He just flew around and made angry faces when it looked like it was working, but he only started attacking after she reactivated the MA and continued shooting everywhere. And even when she did stop, it wasn't even because Banagher convinced her, it was because Kirk's ghost did.

Doesn't matter. He didn't even have the heart to trust in Banagher because he's so blindly envious of him. He literally took the gun and pulled the trigger. And it was Banagher's trigger to pull or not pull. I really think that Riddhe's rubs the audience the wrong way in that scene. He's just oozing shit.

Well, yeah. His personality and temperament was clearly made to paint him as wrong because he didn't trust Banagher at all and absolutely didn't believe Loni could be redeemed. I just think that his actions, shooting a rampaging mobile armor when his ally wouldn't, isn't technically the wrong decision to make. Just the motivations are wrong.

For the scene itself, it's clearly meant to be "he didn't want to believe that she had stopped". But because they made it so he shoots immediately after being shot at, it sometimes makes me think "he probably didn't realize she had already stopped". Obviously wrong, but backed up by the fact that he actually did not attack when she had stopped fighting literally a few minutes before.

Basically, I'm just overthinking easily-interpreted scenes.

Ha, I guess Gundam is not for me because Banagher and all the redeem-the-mass-murderer-girl shit was really annoying (Shinji Ikari levels of annoying), I just wanted him to shoot and stop fucking crying but I imagine that was too much to ask.

Someone looking from the outside would have that outlook, but we see what's really going on. So, yeah, can't hide Riddhe's true self. Of course they had to leave Banagher with one shot so he couldn't pull a Kira.

They must have really liked that custom Zero from Gundam Ace, they made some awesome artwork of it.

Also Zero System gimmicks in full:
Still find this to be such an odd edition and feel it should have been a Snow White exclusive thing.

Still making Wing and Zero different is nice I guess....

Shinji Is supposed to be annoying though. I don't think the same can be said of banagher

True. However Banagher is worse because the one person who takes action is the one everybody likes to bitch about and most want to let Banagher take his sweet ass time talking.

Don't get me wrong I love Unicorn but how Riddhe ends up more hated then Banagher I'll never know.

I would say not to let Banagher scare others off, Gundam has much better leads then Banagher.

well yeah, in a more realistic situation sure. That whole battle and scene (and episode 4 in general of the movie versions) is about being trapped in the conflicts of the past generation and being forced to fight even if you don't know why out of some misguided obligation. Hence the overly long attempt to talk her and the others down. It was going to be a shit show and everyone knew but they did it anyway.
