Looks cool, love me some digimons.

Been debating if I want to mess around with gold/metalic accents on my MG Aegis, either when it's finished or while building. Talking like some of the random details like pipes and a few vents and stuff in the molded parts. Feel like it would make them pop a bit more or be completely over done lol.

I would only if you plan to give it an overall flat coat and you can do it evenly then it would look nice. No need to prime if you know how to lightly sand the surface you touch up on like the pipes and pistons.
Thats a gorgeous Omegamon. My friend got one of the bandai figures at last Fanime and it looked great out of box, best digi design for sure.
fuck this is nice
I guess it all right.

Teach me, master!
Whoa, that's some really nice panel lining! I'm guessing you used panel washing to get those fine lines?
please build and show off more =)

It's a pretty standard build if you attempted to paint before. Quite a few imperfections that I should have addressed better like masking the blue stripes on the chest. The symbols on the sword and the panel lines are always done with a wash.

I've advocated for a wash for a while since it's the most flexible, fastest, and most cost effective way to add details onto a kit vs using something like a gundam marker.

I really should build more, it just gets difficult during the year to find time and access to a space and air compressor to do this with, even more so with a decent place to take a picture of it.

I'm likely not keeping this Omegamon kit, probably going to donate it for the local Jodo Shinshu raffle when they hold Obon in a couple weeks.

Things I still really need to practice on is proper waterslides on a painted kit vs dry transfer and reverse washing metallics properly as well as really tedious shit like sanding v fins and edges, fusing seamlines, and learning how to properly make custom pieces.

Gundam EXVS Force is pretty fun.

As someone who as already imported a console EXVS before I dont really mind the slight simplification of characters/the amount of characters on offer. If you have a Vita/Vita TV I'd totally recommend supporting this game since we normally only get Dynasty Warriors Gundam games in the US now.

Mach Knife is easily becoming one of my favorite mobile suits to play as (next to Banshee, Exia, Sinanju and Turn A).

Wait until you try Mack Knife and G Self and Akatsuki in Maxi Boost On

Post nerf/balance G Self still a god, Mack Knife sucks. Akatsuki, GP03, and Destiny Norn status.

what exactly is this game, is it serious building and battling or dynasty warriors style?

The RG looks amazing. But the gate placement with all that gloss would be a nightmare.
Anyway, I'm almost done with my PG Red Frame.

A little late, but it's just a 3D fighting game with some fun modes.
No building or anything, just picking a mobile suit or the game chooses for you for specific story missions and you can pick allied mobile suits to fight with you. Force mode sort of works like Dynasty Warriors where you take control of points and command troops. And there's a regular VS mode for fighting A.I and running event courses of increasing difficulty.

There are also some big bosses.

So I just bought EX VS Force and it's a lot of fun, very different feeling from previous VS games but still it's got a solid campaign this time around, a bit annoying that it only follows UC as we've done the UC dance a million times by now but whatever it's fine lol.

I also started catching up on gundam shows I missed, I'm over half way through IBO and I'm gonna watch G-Reco next.

What was the overall impression of which was better between the two? What were the strengths of each.

I like a lot about IBO but I get the feeling the 2nd half isn't going to have the right pay off. What it does right is pretty damn good though, I like that for the first time in ages gundam fights actually feel like small naval skirmishes with boarding tactics being used. I kind of like how gritty it is without feeling like it's trying too hard to be dark. None of the characters are really broody, Mika just doesn't have a personality though beyond "just gotta do what i gotta do" but it fits with how poorly educated he is and the shitty life he has lead.

The show has had some really great moments so far though.

Form 1 barbatos is shirtless mika in game.

Heero Duo friendship escape scene and afterparts is where it all started and easily one of the top moments in all of Gundam. Poor Duo having to deal with Heero but he still sticks with him forever. Surprised Heero endured that dislocated joint for the whole time afterwards and why he have to want to die :(

The specials couldnt even put up a fight on the other battlefield, lol.

The specials are nothing more than Anbu Black Ops tier jobbers. Heero's a motherfucking robot.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 Episode 15 – Waiting in Space

The scene at the start, connecting the ships with Gundam Unicorn was pretty epic.

Too bad the episode was kind of ruined with Riddhe getting the Black Unicorn gundam. I guess Banagher will have to face him, since he is now with Full Frontal/Garancieres

IBO is a little weird to me. I would call it good but not great. I actually think the ending for the first season is pretty good despite 1 particular ass pull that I cannot accept. It really drags in the middle and I only found 1 or 2 fights in the whole first season to be well done. Still, it certainly an interesting gundam show that takes things in a different direction. You might have differing opinions once you finish S1.

Greco is highly divisive though. It has a strange kind of care free feel, like Turn A but there's also so much plot crammed into a 26 episode season that it really should have been longer. I found the show to look absolutely stunning at times, with some of the best new mobile suit designs in years. Still, it's a tomino show so character interactions can be a bit strange/vague and it does get kind of rushed by the end. There was so much potential there that was squandered and the main plot, when you put it together isn't all that compelling. It's totally worth a watch though.

Not sure which I would consider better. I like a lot of design/animation elements from Greco better but IBO is more coherent and doesn't stumble with it's plot as much.

It's like for the second half Dr. O tried to upgrade him with the PS2's emotion engine, but it didn't have enough ram to process everything in real time.

Well that's more in line with the impressions I'm having with the show so far. I think what it does well is get you pretty pumped up for the "hype" moments, but you're right not too many of the fights actually feel well put together. The ass pully stuff isn't toooo bad though it is highly noticeable. I'm excited to give G-reco a shot it looks like if anything I'll just enjoy another Tomino Gundam after 16 years.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 Episode 15 – Waiting in Space

Wait so what's the deal with this Unicorn series? Is it just the OVA cut up into a 25 episode series? Or does it change things up / do anything different?

Just the OVA cut up into a TV show. They redid some art (adding markings to mobile suits for example), but other than that nothing is different as far as I know.

Finally got Zeta part one Blu-ray since Hastings is going out of business and has some sales.

For me, I found I liked IBO's potential more than its execution. Lack of beams was a pretty welcome change, like the Crank vs. Mika fight early on, but then it still ends up being "Gundam steamrolls dozens of suits singlehandedly" anyway, with the animation and choreography not really being that interesting to watch for a some fights. Mika was interesting at first, but really ended up just being a novelty of being "that MC who subverts common Gundam cliches", and all development got shoved onto Orga and Kudelia. In fact, a lot of the side characters were a lot more interesting than Mika in the long run. Thought it dragged during most of the middle arcs, but got better at the end, aside from a major asspull that I will never forgive it for. MS designs were generall pretty interesting, aside from the waist on literally everything that just trips me off, and I really agree with the idea that it was gritty without being too dark or edgy. Still decent, and I hope S2 patches up what I wasn't too fond of.

G-Reco is extremely divisive. Even though I ended up liking it a lot, I can easily see and agree with why it gets a lot of the hate it does. Fairly convoluted multi-factional and subfactional conflicts, dozens of characters that all are clearly Tomino creations in how they speak and behave, pronouns and pronouns that are explained exactly once but get brought up again and again, a pacing in the latter half that shows it definitely needed more episodes, and an ending that just kind of...ends. On the other hand, animation is fantastic, designs are colorful and vibrant, and atmosphere is generally fun and comfy. The plot works well enough to string along an adventure story that shows off the world, and it just makes me wish it had more episodes to do so. Hopefully the compilation movies end up alright.

Finished my Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise. I'd say this is probably my favorite Gundam. Also my first attempt at applying a matte top coat. Pretty satisfied with the results :)

You've done good with this build, it's looking sharp

Not a fan of blue frame though, it looks like a kamen rider or something

Its on Daisuki and after watching Round Vernian VIFAM I need my modern mobile suits to wash those designs away (still VIFAM is compelling cause of the aliens and planets plot). I never noticed Natarle this early, though its not like she was really introduced this soon.

So different watching and experiencing it when youre already acquainted with the characters, Athrun's team, Dearka!!!! even, and go getter Kira.
