The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Gundam can be really weird with female characters.

Sort of tangentially related, but the first bizarre female character thing I remember was Mirai and Sleggar when I first saw the MSG movies years ago. All I remember is him slapping the shit out of her in front of everyone on white base, then suddenly 20 minutes later Bright is like "I know how you feel about him...." and she's rushing off the deck to see Sleggar. It was just like what the fuck is going on. Weirdest romance in cinematic history.
Cause you see in Gundam, cupids arrow, is a pimp slap. Remember Reccoa with Pimptimus?

Anyone else pick up EX VS Force today? I know it's not supposed to be the best game but I feel like I have to show some franchise support anyway.

I'm still really bummed it's not Breakers 3 that's getting a proper release, but I'll probably buy it at some point.

Victory part 1 and G-Reco in October, nice. And looks like both are sub only.

Have yourselves some cover art.

Even though I gt them a couple of days ago I might a well show them here. My gunpla pick-ups from the HLJ sale.

I always wanted to ask Beth, why don't you like the Tryon 3? I thought it was the raddest thing ever, one of the few bright pots in Tri.

It's not that I dislike it really.

It's two things.

One being the animal motif is far worse then the Roman Crest of the Tri Zeta.

Also while I like Blue more then Grey, the choice of the royal blue for the head, chest and arms makes it so details on the suit are washed out.

Tri Zeta has a real elegant beauty to it as a Super Robot and Tryon 3 just doesn't capture it.

It's like Getter Dragon/Getter 1 compared to Neo/Shin.

I'm going to have to disagree on the animal motif being a negative as I fucking love it. This feels like a thing that depends on personal taste as I usually prefer something be made up of animals that give a more bestial look to the combined mecha instead of vehicles. Genesic Gaogaigar vs Gaofighgar is the most extreme example though a bit unfair as Genesic is meant to the cool replacement.
Color scheme could use a bit of work, though I still find it preferable to the Tri Zeta. In Tri Zeta's case I feel it doesn't know whether it wants to be a Gundam or a Super robot.

And part of the reason I love it is its appearance in the show. The attacks used and the combination sequence were just so good for me. I love the part where team Sekai tried to attack the component during the combination sequence only to find out that Minato prepared for such treachery.

Rewatching Zeta, just got to the scene where Amuro saves Hathaway from drowning.. coulda just let that boy drown and saved yourself a lotta hassle in the future...*shakes head*

Oh yeah it's personal for sure.

TriZeta being better is completely a subjective thing and I'm aware of it.

It had some good attacks in the show no doubt, and it is the best thing to come out Try without a doubt. I just think it's sad that it got animated and TriZeta didn't. I'd love to see them together in a show like Zambot 3 and its cousin suit or like Gravion/Sigma tag team.

I guess drowning was too dignified a death for Hathaway. I mean there'd still be Chan, but who really cares about her?

I actually liked Four. She really cared about Kamille when she wasn't being a cyber newtype.

Damn straight. I'm almost done with the first set. Gotta order the second half soon. Just satisfied to finally have this on bluray. I've gone from tv recorded episodes on vhs (with commercials!) to LD recorded episodes on vhs to HK bootlegs to this *lol*

I need to get that at some point too. It's my favorite series dat soundtrack, dem waifus and mecha, but I never bought it. When I saw it introduced here as that expensive ass limited edition DVD set I just vowed never to own it, but that was before I watched it. Now it's become my favorite and I must buy it one day.

I love the soundtrack. I need to own it on CD at some point. Oddly enough, I have the first vol. OST on vinyl of all things *lol* Also it's a toss up between Fa and Four, but I know this isn't waifu talk central here.

You can always just pm me. I love waifu talk. I love Fa, Four and Rosamia with Emma being his big sister that would smack the taste out of his mouth when he steps out of line.

I'll always remember the disco music and blaring trumpets every time the white base gets attacked.
Lmao.

I really like the movie trilogy. The pace is a bit exhausting at times the way they go from battle to battle, but overall it was a great introduction to the UC timeline.

Watching a bit of Wing and i love the design and the idea of the Tallgeese being "we had to scrap this because it never accounted for the pilot's safety, piloting this is basically suicide."

Gundam Breaker 3 is pretty badass. The level of customizing you can do is insane, to the point where I think it even surpasses Armored Core!

Just finished episode 7 of Unicorn RE:0096

Kind of loving it so far? The fact that this is adapted from an OVA is pretty obvious, since the animation quality is sky-high compared to IBO, for example. Not to trash IBO or anything, I liked that too.

I feel like the story moves very fast here, and I can't imagine how quickly it moved in the OVA.

Ordered the original Mobile Suit Gundam on Blu Ray I have never seen a single episode before.

A friend of mine who got me hooked on gunpla recently let me borrow his set, and I just finished it last night; it's still a really fantastic show, rushed last couple episodes aside- can't wait to start Zeta here soon.

In my 15 or so years of watching Gundam I still haven't seen all of the original series lol. Just the movie trilogy.

You missed the greatest episode.

I watched 0079 through again last year. The movies might be an easier sell, but it's worth sitting through the whole thing. It still holds up if you don't mind all the disco and the animation quality, rushed ending aside. And even that has its own charm.

The movies have Soldiers of Sorrow, though.

It's been a while, some panel washing techniques is rusty... Going through cheapest to most expensive backlog. I want to get back into building Gunpla and Plamo now that it is summer.

Some issues I had after being months away from Gunpla:

Some cuts too deep
Some paint not thin enough
Been a while since I did a metallic wash, not enough gloss or metallic finish for it
The kit felt really cheap
Practice run for going back into MG

Meguriai is better than Ai Senshi.

Also, the TV anime has an amazing soundtrack. Gallant Char is the best song in the franchise

Yes Wing is good, I need to continue my rewatch, on ep3..

Really? I think a few of the episodes are a bit slower (Well any with no action since they are usually just sitting there going over emotions, best part to Banagher)

Looks cool, love me some digimons.

Been debating if I want to mess around with gold/metalic accents on my MG Aegis, either when it's finished or while building. Talking like some of the random details like pipes and a few vents and stuff in the molded parts. Feel like it would make them pop a bit more or be completely over done lol.

Thats a gorgeous Omegamon. My friend got one of the bandai figures at last Fanime and it looked great out of box, best digi design for sure.

Whoa, that's some really nice panel lining! I'm guessing you used panel washing to get those fine lines?

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 Episode 14 – Clash of the Two Unicorns

Audrey got kind of annoying this episode, kind of got agitated when Banagher used NT-D to save her, then again it was kind of epic scene since it seems like he know has fully control of Unicorn, or is at least, working cooperatively with it. Then scene when he was holding the panels down with his own strength to keep from hurting Marida by transforming was great. Also, I love his dedication to her and how strong he comes across, he set up a fantastic episode and resolution nicely with her. Loved the scenes so much, especially the return of Banagher smiling.

Riddhe knows what is in Laplace Box or something?!

Definitely in the top 3 episodes, and Sawano x Aimer is a perfect match.

Do I need to watch anything before diving into Thunderbolt December Sky?
It helps to have some familiarity with the original Mobile Suit Gundam series or its compilation movies to know what the setting is and who the opposing sides are. But its direct ties to the original series are minimal.

The bad dudes look like Nazi's. I think that's all he'd need to know on that front.
