Graham is such a badass. Easily my favorite character in 00 so far.

Piss him off and it doesn't matter how superior your mobile suit is, he'll still kick your ass and slice off your arm with your own beam sword.

I swear Graham is like a hot blooded Shounen character trapped in a Gundam anime.

Since Gundam Unicorn hasn't been available to watch on Gundam.Info's youtube channel and probably won't be for a while, what's the best / cheapest way to go about watching the series if you live in the US... paying the watch the episodes on my ps3 by renting from the playstation store?

I find it funny how the Gundam Meisters in Gundam 00 are willing to kill each other at the drop of a hat while the Human Reform League is so concerned about keeping their comrades alive.

Like Tiera, I think murdering your teammate the moment he makes a mistake might not be the best course of action.

EDIT: Tieria, shut the fuck up.

No team of Gundam pilots can get any larger than 2 or so before they start harboring thoughts of killing each other. The ZAFT seed boys do pretty well until Athrun defects.

Reached the halfway point on Gundam Build Fighters Try and it's...okay. That's about the best I can say about it really. It's lacking something that the original series had that managed to really grab me and keep me interested in what was going on.

I think part of it is the characters. There just isn't a whole lot to any of them I feel. Sekai just punches things and wants to fight or has no idea what's going on. Hoshino is just sort of supportive I guess and the leader. Yuuma has a bit more to him with what he went through, but is largely just the smart one of the team.

I find I get most excited whenever someone from the first series shows up like Meijin or Nils. What's weird with the series is that they spend so much on the preliminaries and these teams who largely don't show up again aside from one or two characters. The ones in the Nationals are largely uninteresting aside from a few match-ups such as Try against Gunpla Academy.

One thing I will say is that I'm digging the Gunpla in the series. Especially some of the rival teams with pretty much everything on Gunpla Academy's team. The End is pretty cool and I love the design on the Transient Gundam. I think I may need to pick up the HG kits for both of those because I just really dig them and look forward to seeing more of what they can do.

So yeah, we'll see if the series goes now that we're in the Nationals. Hopefully we get some good matches and hopefully a few more cameos.

This all just makes me wish Gunpla battles were real though. It'd even be a cool game with a tournament setup and all that.

Looking back on it now, Try isn't at all bad but it just felt rushed, production/planning wise.

And to be fair GBF set a really high bar. But nothing in GBFT really feels like it was thought completely through. Characters, motivations, fights, lead ups to battles. Things just weren't built up as well and there is a real lack of tension in the series.

Also, in the end it took the one thing I disliked about GBF (Build Knuckle) and made a whole series out of it. All the teases didn't help either.

They get better. By the end, Tieria is legitimately one of the best characters in 00.

The problem is that it's predictable. You can tell who is a jobber or not. And fights always end the same way more or less. And the there really was no point on the 3on3 dynamic since they don't really implement it except in combining them together. Designs are great though and it's awesome SD gundams are badass in fights.

He's grown on me through the first season.

As I'm starting the second season, I'm also starting the original Mobile Suit Gundam. It's... Actually pretty great. I like how both Amuro and Bright are struggling with their newfound responsibilities, and Char is a good recurring villain; despite appearing in every episode so far, he doesn't feel ineffectual or weak.

I think that's a major part of it too, though there was a moment where I thought they were going to lose that last second of the Preliminary Finals. And it's a shame because the team dynamic could actually lead to some interesting setups, but they just haven't seemed to do anything with it. Yeah, one thing I'll definitely say is that a lot of the designs are great.

Finished rewatching Wing + Endless Waltz. The show started out strong, but weakened as the show progressed. The conflict was interesting because it was mainly infighting with the Gundams on the outside trying to push their own agenda, but it eventually collapses in on itself. I really liked Zechs, probably the best Char besides Char himself, but his motivations don't make sense to me at the end of the series. I get it that he is shown a future by Epyon or Wing Zero, but it still seems really strange that he wanted to destroy the Earth.

One of the main problems with Wing is that there aren't that many likeable main characters. Out of the Gundam pilots I only really like Duo and Trowa. Trowa and Heero seem like the same character to some extent with Trowa being more interesting. That being said, Endless Waltz's background scenes with Heero made me like him a lot more.

I feel like Endless Waltz is a better ending to the series than the actual show's ending, though I really don't like the Gundam redesigns. Wing Zero's metal feather wings just look silly to me. I also miss the red color scheme of Heavy Arms.

Guess what came in yesterday.

Came in much faster than expected, just in time for my birthday. Still waiting for my cutter, markers and the models I ordered.

I'm a few episodes into 0079 now. Do they ever address Amuro's wiener-ness? Is that a main part of the show? It feels intentional, but I'm afraid its a product of the time.

Eventually Bright slaps the shit out of him and Frau Bow verbally wrecks him, then Amuro starts acting better.

Amuro is always a goober. Luckily for him as UC goes along just about every other male teen is an EVEN BIGGER GOOBER.

Maturity brought on by abuse is the Gundam way.
No Gundam protag caught a bigger ass whooping than fucking Kamille. He got smacked almost every episode in the beginning and even towards the end Emma is smacking him or Fa. Still for some odd reason Kamille is my favorite, it's like he literally graduated from the school of hard knocks.

Yeah but Kamille was 17 goddamn years old when Zeta started. Dude should have had his shit sorted by then.
Just like every Gundam protag that I can think of Kamille had some shit ass parents. He had so many issues that I think it would have taken him a long time to sort everything out by himself. I still think he processed the war better than Amuro did. Sure he was damaged but he didn't let it completely consume him like Amuro did since Kamille was able to settle down and create a stable relationship with Fa.

She's like the exception to that rule.
Kira's are pretty much dead, Athrun's are dead and a warmonger, Kamille's are philanderous and indifferent about it, Judau's don't fucking exist, Usso's are absentee,
Yzak's at least his mom are fine, Nicole's were good too,
Banaghers are barely there...probably dead and the other doesn't show up till 10 minutes before ep 1 ends, Amuro's dad is insane...Wing pilots? Parents? Pffft lol, Gundam Meisters? Only Feldt and Lockon bitched about their parents with Setsuna having something to do with his parental trauma.

Any word on when Mobile Suit Gundam is coming to Blu-ray? I want to get into this series and that seems like the easiest way to start.

Also, I just ordered an RX-78-2 1/144 HG kit. I don't know much about the series but I've always liked the design of that one! Should be fun.

Went to Barnes and Noble for the first time in months today (60 miles from where I live, it sucks). I went in planning to get the newest Spice and Wolf novels I'd missed out on (due to no job until recently) until I saw this thing.

Needless to say I left with that instead. I'll post pics when I finish.

For some odd reason I always forget about the Kasshu's, though they wind up filling a body bag or not currently in their life like the most extreme cases of Gundam parents.

Well, yeah, that does happen. At least Doctor Kasshu shows back up, sane, and helps save the day.

After watching 27 episodes of Gundam 00 it's a bit late to be asking this, but... Why are all the explosions purple?
