Even if they weren't, the one Io uses puts the RX-78 to shame.
As was mentioned it's a figure, it's celebrating Wing,s twenty anniversary arring in Japan if what I read is correct.I wonder what this could be about. Can anyone here read the moon runes on the picture? Don't really trust /m/ and I doubt it's anything major but you never know.

Given Frozen Teardrop just ended they could do another side story for it as well or just have this figure and GoL.
If I where a betting woman I'd say our most likely big event for the anniversary from Bandai if they do one will be a Wing Zero 2.0 sometime in the year now that they've done a full 2.0 labeling with an AU series by doing Freedom.

A Wing EW 2.0 that can properly hold the Buster Rifle would also be nice, but we're getting an RG so I doubt they'll do that so soon.

Way too early to say. It's a gundam show, it will shit the bed sooner or later.
Nu Gundam still doesnt have a PG and Nu is very popular.
Popularity isnt the end all be all to get a PG.
Hell Freedom still doesnt have.
Id say we are at least 5 to 6 years for a chance at Barbatos

Char's Zaku makes a cameo and the Gundam already has a reputation amongst the Federation and Zeon due to Amuro's exploits.
Also, it's not like this is the first time that they've retconned more Gundams into the One Year War. The RX-79[G]s from 08th MS Team and the RX-78-3 to RX-78-6 suits come to mind.

Holy crap it is small, a lot smaller than what I expected. Sazabi's backpacks had more runner than this thing. The details are not as bad as I thought it would be, I guess I can see the charm of buying a kit for $20 with a huge selections. Still, I think for the price of 2 HGs, it is better to get a MG, it had at least 5-10 times more parts, and the build process will last you a whole week.

Of course I know that. 08th MS Team was more scrapped together, so it wouldn't really outshine Amuro's Gundam. My only reason for bringing it up was the author's comments along the lines of it not being canon. So major characters could actually be removed/changed. Also, where I was at in the manga hadn't made mention of either.

But yeah, I agree with your points. Still, HGs will remain the only way to obtain a lot of the more obscure kits, or kits from failed series.
From what I can tell, the author is mainly using his artistic freedom to increase the technological level of the OYW and redesign the suits. I suspect that if we saw his version of the RX-78-2 during A Baoa Qu it would be decked out with like 6 shields, a booster with 10 bazookas, and two extra arms holding Gundam Hammers. Besides, the Gundam is legendary only because Amuro was such an ace pilot. Even if Io's suit was more powerful then the RX-78-2, I doubt he would be able to stand up against Char or some of the other aces Amuro faced.
I think with PGs it's not really a question of how popular a show is overall, but specifically how popular and iconic they feel a kit is to a very specific demographic. The people who will drop the amount of money a PG costs on a kit are a very specific audience, which is why Unicorn was perfect for it. Even then, it took a really long time before they committed to releasing it. Bandai doesn't make many PG kits because they're expensive to engineer, expensive to produce, take up a ton of shelf space at retail, and cost way more than what most people are willing to pay for a model kit. So when they do release a new one, they need to be sure that the core adult audience able to shell out a few hundred bucks for a kit will be satisfied with it.

I've already watched the series lol. I'm almost done with ZZ now. Ideally, I'm going to get both the series and the compilation movies at some point.
Honestly, the whole Ple/Leina thing ruined large portions of ZZ for me. If there's one thing that turns me off of an anime more than anything, it's prepubescent little sister tropes. Only reason I toughed it out is because I want to finish UC Gundam. It has had some strong episodes though.

Elpeo Ple was a psychopath. She became somewhat tolerable only slightly before she was killed. Same with Ple Two, but it was only moments before her death.
Marida, on the other hand, is one of my favorite characters (especially from Unicorn).
Like 8 months later I'm finally done with the duckroll RG Exia challenge. Now I have like 10 other 1/100 MG and PG kits to go through.
I didn't break a single piece! It wasn't that hard! You just needed to get those transparent pieces of shit on but other than that, EZ. Even decided to add on the Dark Matter Booster. The only thing I realized is that I much prefer the MG 1/100 size to the 1/144...
Will maybe eventually go paint it and decal it.
Or I'll give it to a kid at the local Jodo Shinshu temple...

I thought Elpeo was more of a clingy brat than an actual psychopath with her clone being the psychopathic one. If Elpeo was a psychopath then she'd never really be able to care about Judau and get as clingy as she was to the guy. Marida was cool though. I have no complaints regarding her.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I felt like she was so clingy that sometimes she wanted to be the only one Judau thought of, and not his sister. But it all worked out in the end.

I thought that didn't start happening till after Judau started feeling like shit cause he thought Leina died. Seemed more like she was trying to help ease Judau's pain my making him feel like he still has a sister. Besides I thought Glemy raised the original and Ple clones how well could she rationalize human emotions with that kind of upbring?

I know I'm the only one here ever talking about Try-Age, but whatevs. The second series/season to the Iron-Blooded Orphans expansion just started, and I played about $10 worth of it yesterday. I got the new Ez8 card (left, below), and noticed it's maybe too similar to the previous card (right, below). The art on the new card is definitely way better, but everything else about feels really lazy.
