The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

We keep the joke going out of fondness for duckroll so that he doesn't make the same mistake twice. Yup, that's exactly it. Uh-huh.

The avatar threw me off horrifically sorry about that.

It's a keychain plush cat version of Saya from Blood-C. Although most of the Saya likeness looks like it was photoshopped in.

Look! No legs to break this time! :p

Pretty fun kit so far. Lots of larger casing parts, so it feels kinda like building a model plane kit rather than a gunpla. I guess that makes sense, since it's a.... Guntank. Lol. The detailing is really solid for a HG kit.

Kinda surprised by how fast you reached this state. Not many parts?

I bet you think all female avatars in WOW belong to girls IRL as well :p

The base was actually Ame from Wolf Children if I'm not mistaken.

This for all forms of Gundam, figures, anime, manga, novels and anything else :)

I do love my gunpla though so most often i do rant about designs and my latest model lol.

If this were just for gunpla, we would have kicked Enron out ages ago. Lazy ass dude hasn't built anything in forever. :p

oh thanks! i have some old photos of my first rg, i'll try to dig up and post.

i just got mb strike freedom on order. just wondering if anyone got him and their thoughts.

i have a mini wall of rg's but bc of a new work schedule, i haven't had a chance to build. (noob builder)

......

I'm a guy.

If what Haly says is true, duckroll is not a guy but rather a 13 year old child who lives in a box.

I have no means of confirming whether or not this is true. This is something I had heard since I am not very familiar with this.

Finished the original gundam series and man was it good! I loved the mobile suit designs and total feel of war from this series.

I started zeta and already dislike some of the mobile suit designs

Dat transformable animal motif. I swear I might be the only one that likes the bulk of the designs. I think the Quebeley, Byarlant and the Aashimar are classics. Plus the Zeta is my favorite lead suit and The O is pretty cool as well.

I was the same way as you. But zeta grew on me. Eventually I liked it just as much as first. It has some great designs. The zeta itself is a wonderful ms.

Not many major parts at all. The pieces which make up most of the frame are large pieces with nice panel detail. There are then several smaller pieces (wheels, panel covers, mini-turret, etc) which attach onto the large pieces to provide more detail and dimension. The main lower body which I built was basically base frame x2, circular mid-section x2, front armor skirt x1, back armor skirt x1, and maybe a dozen smaller accessory parts/joitn connectors.

It seems like an easy kit overall, but I'm loving the way it looks.

But the child male or female?

That's good to know. Might pick it up after I finish the Altron, who I have yet to start at. Anyone here built theirs yet?

Zeta is probably the sleekest design for the lead mobile suit. Too bad Kamille turned into a vegetable after Zeta cause he could've made a career out of designing mobile suits.

Strike is easily my least favorite RG aside from Exia right now.

Still good job and the RG Skygrasper is cute!!!
thanks, the sky grasper was my first build, i figured it's small so it'd be easier before i tackle a gundam. boy i was wrong, those decals were the most challenging given that it was my first time. what's your fav. suit currently?

Today's updates:
Oooo nice! how long does it take you on average to finish a kit? (rg/hg/mg)
that rg took me so long about 4-6 weeks going at it daily (really painfully slow at tiny decals...)

Sounds like you're still really early into the show...granted he gets smacked within the first five minutes of the first episode. At least Kamille gets the taste slapped out of his mouth. Shinn got off too lucky by comparison. Somebody should've pile drived that fool.

If you finish the cannons can you take a picture of it with them but without the arms and head? Kinda curious about how tank-like it appears without the robot parts.

Sure thing. Will probably finish it up tomorrow. Hopefully if I try to remove the head I don't destroy it, or the jokes here will never end. :p

Depends on the kit really. It also depends on how much time I want to spend on the kit on a given day. This Origin Guntank is pretty simple HG kit though, so I think it should just take 3 days or so, with 1+ hour per day. Something like a RG kit or a MG kit takes much longer. If I have nothing better to do and spend 1-2 hours every day on it, I can finish in a week or two. Otherwise, a month sounds about right. If something happens like say... I break a leg for example, it could take over a month because of depression. Lololol. :p

Current fav RG?

Weirdly it's Destiny and Wing Zero.

They are in my mind the two most solid RG's in the line and fun builds. Granted they have issues like Destiny's clown shoes and Zero's to similar whites despite having two tones like all other RG's.

MG's 6-8 hours depending on clean up.

RG's four.

HG's 2.

I dont decal, I like them to look show accurate.

It's a start.

It's EXVS but focused on single-player stuff with squad building, zone capturing, etc. Actual versus is more of an afterthought which is why it's ad-hoc only! Still weird they kept that out considering its pedigree, but at least the gameplay will be better than the Gundam Battle series.
Ok that sounds like fun then.

oh you're missing the torture part. haha but 4 hrs is pretty fast even for a non decal rg.

i have a rg wing zero kit w/ the drei zwerg weapon from the gundam ace issue, wish i had time to get to it.

Oh most certainly.

Granted i love the look of Decals, but I build them for specific anime poses.

That or set up diaramas of them getting their ass kicked, so i have Destiny on the receiving end of Shining Finger lol, so no decals needed.

I skipped Drei Zwerg, but I did buy it and will give it to Wing EW.

It's been on an action base since July, thought I'd change things up since I was rearranging my displays and had an empty space.
Am I doing it right?

This was actually easier to pull off than I thought it'd be. Some mechanism thingy in the waist that pulled down made life a lot simpler.

post pics if you ever get to building it=)

The more I see of the V2 Ver Ka., the more in love with it I am. Too bad I have to wait until MP Ironhide hits in January to ship it out. Hopefully the AB packs aren't too far behind. It looks a bit unarmed without them. A bit sad it has fixed posed hands, but it's understandable given the size.

Also reminds me I need to finish the Hyaku-Shiki 2.0 fairly soon. Built the entire main suit so far. Just need to build the weapons and Ballute System. God dang that kit is good. Hopefully I finish him before the RG Destiny that Enron(RIP) just shipped me gets here.

Its a surprisingly sturdy little kit that poses pretty well all things considered.

Wings are hella strong and much better at staying up then both Freedom and Destiny I find.

Too long for me. Maybe it's because every time I cut a piece I remove the excess nub with a knife and sand it.

It would only make you more endearing ;3

I'm really interested in the V2 but I'm so angry about the exclusive parts. I feel like it's missing something without them.

Also, did you build your Altron?

I need to decal it (story of most my kits), but I did finish the Altron's build. It's great. It's exactly what you'd expect it to be. The MG Shenlong base with the added fangs. The fangs work well for what they are. It's a shame they rely on stands to be held up, but that's understandable with current engineering. Plastic colors are great. Only thing I'd want is the added EW GoL backpack parts. It feels a bit baron without them.

Decals are very Katoki as well. Not sure how many I'm gonna put on, but it doesn't lack for them.

As for V2's exclusive parts, it sucks, but it is what it is. I'm certain there's a sizable audience that doesn't care about Wings of Light. I'm not one of those people and I have to own every MG that has those, so I instantly was a sucker and ordered a set.

Now if the AB parts don't get a separate kit and are only packed in with a whole new V2 base, then I'll be upset.

Any problematic parts?

And now you make me want to wait until we receive news on the AB parts, lol.

Not really. The Shenlong base is super solid and I don't notice any mold degradation. Everything holds together really well. Maybe be careful with the little hooks that sit on top of the chest. I could see it being easy to lose those, but they hold tight once they're plugged in. The segments of the fang arms are a really soft plastic as well and can get nub marks, but those aren't all that noticeable.

Well good news, that earlier Barbatos Form 5 image was fake as shit. This looks like the real thing. A whole new MS rather than a new Barbatos form
inb4 it's Barbatos Full Burnern

d4MoEmFh.jpg

EDIT:

-Mystery MS: Gundam Frame type, has Gusion's rear armor equipped as rear skirt. Seems to be a mix of Graze Kai, Barbatos and Gusion parts. Has long barrel Graze Rifle. No further info yet.

Sorry, I tried to remove the head but it was kinda tight and I really don't want to create another duckroll legend, so you'll have to settle with photos without the arms, just imagine the head isn't there. :p

And here's the finished kit. It looks really nice, the arms and canons have really nice articulation, and the details look great. The shoulders in particular have this great fake cloth look.

If I use my finger it kinda works. Thanks! It really does come off as a giant tank without the limbs and head.

Overall a very nice looking kit.

oh.... cool! good to know that's normal to take over a month.

i was watching a tutorial for gunpla and that's what the guy on the video was doing for each of his parts, i tried to cut the pieces clean and file down any excess but i'm not too thorough or have good attention to detail.

nice!

Think I'm going for some gunpla today. Still have not watched enough Blood orphins to grab one of those yet... maybe time to grab that infinite justice mg.
