The only Kotobukiya model I built is the Frame Arms, they had similar quality as a HG kit, the plastic felt a bit lower in quality. I don't think I had any major problem building them.

I heard the cheap airbrush work as well as the more expensive one, until you start doing preshading and stuff, you will need a better airbrush.

This is the air compressor I used, I need to buy some adapters to use that for my airbrush. As long as it had a tank with consistent air flow it should work well. The only problem I run into is the air compressor is too powerful, it go from 0 to 260 PSI, while airbrushing only use 8-25 max, so it is kind of hard to adjust between 10-15.

All compressors are loud, so whatever, just get a hose and water trap (even if your compressor already had one). If it doesn't work just return it to amazon.

Alternatively, you can just get that cheap set, and when you want to start doing preshading, you can save up and buy more expensive airbrush. Keep the old airbrush for priming, future floor finish, etc.

DavidwangChoi- I started building gundams this fall, but I do plan to panel line the face and put stickers on all my MG models.
 
So how are they releasing Gundam Thunderbolt episodes? Are they going to be released every week, month or every few months?

The first episode was great! :)

We've only seen the first episode but thus far we've just found most of it really funny. Which is... fine, since we love to laugh along with shows we watch, but it might put a damper on some otherwise-powerful scenes further on. I dunno, are we in the minority for thinking this dub (er, well, based on the first ep, anyway) is more comically lackluster than the average Gundam show? We didn't burst into fits of... manly giggling (we'll go with that) quite as often with stuff like 00 (...usually) and even Wing.

When Kira asked one of the random civilians what was going on and there were explosions everywhere, the dude answered with the most nondescript "idk" ever and we lost it.

They're like short streaming on-demand OVAs, so they'll be a couple of months apart each. The next episode is coming out in Feb.
 
I'm all caught up on IBO now (one of my very first subbed anime; I'm adapting quickly to the change) so it's bumming me out to read that there's no new episode next week.
 
I freaking love Setsuna, but Mika really is making a hard play for first place after tonight, yes.

I really hope this show gets a second season.
I've been told that kind of talk is kinda unpopular here, but eh. I really do. D:
 
Yup. I stand by it!

I have really rather uncommon Gundam opinions in general, though. The big one being, most of UC doesn't really do it for me.

I did enjoy the Mobile Suit Gundam movies at least.
 
Mikazuki is pretty cool. I'm liking him quite a bit actually.

I got two kids for Christmas. Hg master Gundam and hguc crossbones. My bff got them for me. Best bestie ever
 
Thunderbolt was amazing. Short, but amazing. Wasn't too hot on the character design at first but the main character (?) is great.

I am sorry spoiler I was just really excited and posted the second I finished that episode yesterday... it was trending for a while.
 
The dubs of my childhood on the Friday night anime block. Leave them there forever.

SEED is one I haven't seen since that time, and only subbed when Gundam.info had been showing it.

I'll probably go and watch Zeta dubbed too. Gotta get it all out of the way.

Wow, my inlaws surprised me and bought this as one of my Christmas presents. I finally fiiiinally can replace my old HK box set. I ordered the second half using an Amazon gift card from my folks. :D Brings back memories of getting this on VHS of all things along with my GoGoV episodes..
 
Pretty tempted to go look for a New Order Tie Fighter model this afternoon... simply because they are supposedly a similar spec (though more simple) as a Gundam. And like 2x the damn price.
 
Seed's dub is better than Wing's actually. Don't know where this idea came from.

Not that the main cast is bad for Wing or anything, but some of the bit parts, yeeesh.

I thought the whole production lacked emotional weight to me. My biggest memory of it was seeing Char lose his shit over Haman's brain washing of Mineva and it just felt weak to me. I'd have to rewatch it again after a lot of years, but I'm not looking forward to it since I feel it just drags down my favorite UC gundam.
 
watched the first and second episode of seed dubbed on the anime legends dvd. a bit subdued, less dramatic. but i clearly knew athrun was a guy this time w/ the dub when he gives kira birdy in the flashback scene. =)
