The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Maybe, still have no design in particular that has captured my interest in the real problem. But if I see an interesting one I will snatch it up, they are pretty cheap here.

As much as I love UC, something about thunderbolt rubs me the wrong way. I think it's the art style. Plus the animation seems odd.
So far I'm digging the look they've gone for.

That said every time I see the Gundam I think of Ultra Magnus from Transformers so that may be why.

I'm looking to get into airbrushing for gunpla, but I don't exactly have a lot of money to spend. Does anyone know if this is a good enough airbrush to get started with? It coming with a compressor is a big reason I want it. We have a full size air compressor, but that thing is loud as fuck and I'm not exactly sure it would work with airbrushes (total noob with machinery).

More Unicorn incoming. Looks like an 11th volume of the novel will be put out.

Wonder if we'll get a new OVA episode out of this, too.

Does anyone have experience with Kotobukiya models? I'm really interested in making/owning something physical by Nihei Tsutomu.

I wish I could answer your question, but I'm in the same boat as you. That setup has some good reviews so it's probably not a bad set up. I'd watch some YouTube reviews on if you have the time.

Tested recently did a good video on the basics of airbrushing equipment that might help? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2ccdaScxQ8

Are you just wanting to know how it compares to Bandai kits? I honestly didn't notice much of a difference. Same basic principle.

Then again I built it in early 2013 so my memory is a bit foggy.
Yeah, I guess i'm wondering the quality is something along the lines of an HG or MG. I watched a video of it and I'm guessing HG. It's kind of pricey for that but these are niche compared to Gunpla.

spent two hours looking and stressing over a joint piece for my heavy arms. I found it with the help of my brother and moving furniture.

but status update- I finished the arms and I am now working on the legs.

Kotobukiya is generally more loose than Bandai kit. at same time slightly more expensive.

you can say the quality is some where between HG and RG

Gundam Thunderbolt - Episode 1

Great Christmas Present from Bandai. This feels basically like Enemy at the Gates: Gundam Edition. I love the character art design, and the direction is solid. Ko Matsuo is really bringing his A game to this. That FOV camera shot of the Zaku getting owned towards the end was super cool. Hope the rest of this 4-part short series lives up to the promise here!

Want to know why we never got full shots of the Frozen Teardrop Gundams?

Tidbit of a FT interview:

-The actual reason we didn't get the MS designs was Katoki only wanting to draw the covers
-If if gets animated the designs will be altered for animation

-_-

I have the ZoE2 Jehuty model kit. It's the next kit I'll work on after my PG.

Decent start though kind of fast paced because of little to no exposition. I like the antagonists I guess since they have all those ragtag suits and facilities and seem like the underdogs here, I hope they succeed. Lots of favorite designs with their group too.

Gundam is alright, I wish its wings were a bit better they look like they are just shields attached so it seems a bit strange. Otherwise, yes for the beam sword.

Worked with a good number of them. Highly detailed with a lot of parts, but the end result feels more flimsy than Bandai's kits. Haven't built a new kit from them though so maybe they improved as the last one I bought was either the Armored Core Alicia Unsung or the Muv Luv Takemikaduchi four or three years ago.

Wow that explains why have 3 different variants of Snow White.

Honestly as much as Wing EW is vastly more popular then Wing TV and Katoki is a large part of that, it was worthless having him be on the team if he really didn't want to do it.

Granted design reuse is very much apart of Katoki at his core -just look at Unicorn And the fact it has three variants now - it doesn't help a supposed sequel of the artist is like fuck off.

They are literally just additional shields on robot arms.
It's a Full Armor RX-78-2 with a booster backpack

Took Sunrise long enough to realize that Gundam and jazz are a perfect match. Of course it's in the manga, but actually hearing it is damn good. Gundaminfo needs better timers. Subs were out of sync.

I spent most of my morning working on the bottom half. I couldn't believe how tall it was once I got the legs on it. I still have a bit to go. I don't think I'm going to panel line Strike because so far I haven't been happy how it looks on my previous kits. I will decal it and maaaaaaybe top coat.
