Okay so Gundam EX A is basically a series of Gundam manga that ties in even further than Turn A does where all the parallel timelines are adjacent to one another and in EX A the universes converge and the characters interact making it "canon" in that sense because humans have started to stagnate as a civilization and is starting to break itself apart. So they make something called the General Answer plan to fix all that.

Like you'd think this would be kind of okay because you get to see all your favorite Gundam characters fight each other canon like in the EXVS game, Kira Yamato vs Banagher Links Vs Heero Yuy.

So this is Sthesia Awar, she's an AI called a Holo-Actor. She works as the navigator for the protagonist Leo Alloy and they're both really thirsty for one another even though she has no real physical body but can manifest her consciousness in one.

But she isn't the only Sthesia and there are multiple Sthesia being used as AI navigators across the series.

However there is another group of alternate universe Sthesia called Dark Sthesia full of batshit crazy versions with real physical bodies piloting their own gundam.

They all exhibit different personalities parallel to the real Sthesia so Nono is a sadist, Acht is the hothead tsundere, Sesto is the gloomy one, and Primo is the happy childish one who has some connection to Elpeo Ple and falls in love with Leo.

They all pilot their own versions of Extreme Gundam and seek to alter the GA plan for their own goals. They function as bosses in the EXVS game too and they have their own batshit crazy dialogue there too.

If you thought Frozen Teardrop was bad stupid... This is a whole different level of stupid.

The pilots are in Maxi Boost? I only bothered to go through and fight a boss once but it wasn't any of these chicks. Although one of these suits is familiar.

Wing is the first full Gundam show I've watched on Toonami and then came G. Wing is my gateway Gundam, but it's not my favorite. Zeta's my favorite and I first saw that many many years after I've watched Wing, so it isn't exactly nostalgia for me. I just like Wing enough not to call it a flaming pile of shit cause I can still watch it, notice it's flawed and still enjoy it. Same can be said for Seed and Destiny. Best part of those two shows is watching the relationship of Kira and Athrun get passed two wars and watching Shinn get his own shit pushed down his throat. Victory is well...Victory. You either see appreciate what it tried to do or wish you had some fucking mind bleach. I even like stuff like Stardust Memory and 8th MS Team for various reasons (best animated Gundam fights put to screen during the hand drawn era...dat Gouf fight!!!). 0079 is the show that started it all, I'm probably the odd man out by not calling it my favorite, but I'll watch it and like it as long as I'm in the mood for it. When it comes to suits oddly enough it's never the lead suit minus Unicorn and Nu...Nu's just a fuck ton of awesome...and Zeta, God I love me some Zeta. I guess I like some of the ones with a sleek design to it. Some of the bulky designs just looked like a technological backwards step compared to some of Zeta's sleeker designs. Everybody on here already must know my favorite Wing suits and I just can't name all of my favorite ones, I even like some Victory designs.

I watched Wing and 08th MS Team and 0080 and 0083 and the original film trilogy and CCA as a kid, then took a lengthy hiatus, then came back as a 20-something and have rewatched all of the above + seen Zeta and 00 and Unicorn and I'm working on SEED (and IBO).

00 is just the right tone and scale and style for me pretty much from start to finish, aside from a few quibbles (Saji's S1 stuff is really weak for a while; Marie is amazing and should not have been so thoroughly sidelined for a chunk of S2, etc). My favorite episode is "Assault on Memento Mori". It is probably my favorite episode of any Gundam.

Wing holds up alright, but it drags for ultra-long stretches. I love Endless Waltz, in part for how focused it is (and in part for how much better the cast chemistry is). Still, nostalgia dictates I will never not dig this show.

08th really disappointed me on the rewatch. The romance was insipid even if the concept was strong and I felt like precious little happened until near the end. The final episode was lol.

Zeta is okay. I've said my piece there. I'll rewatch it on my own someday and with the sub instead and see if that helps me see the light. 0080 is kinda cool. 0083 is another case of me wanting more to have happened earlier on. Neat ending, though. CCA wasn't as good as I remembered, lol. The kids were annoying and the ending was Spirits Within. I wish it were longer. Unicorn has amazing music and feels really promising and then bleh. I guess what you should take from this paragraph is that I am a heretic who prefers AU over UC. By a good margin.

But I should probably say something about mobile suit designs since that's what people talk about the most in this fandom. I love 00's, unsurprisingly; some of them feel very Xenogears (and that's a good thing to me). Wing's rock, too. UC does have nice ones galore; I'll gladly admit that. I love how grounded many of them are relative to their AU kin. I research UC mobile suit design for most of the grunts in my books whilst turning to AU concepts for hero ship inspiration.

I'm a lifelong lover of the concept of Gundam who just hasn't seen much from the franchise that actually clicks with him on every level. So that's what drew me to starting my own mecha book series. I hope I can share it with you someday. Right now I'm about seventy pages into the first book, so it will be a while.

In the meantime, I'm scouring every show I've missed to learn more of the genre and I'm following everyone's Gunpla with admiration and awe. When I have more space of my own again methinks I'll grab one or two kits and join in the fun.

Well Zanscare was trying to give the entire planet permanent brain damage so I guess it happening to you was mission accomplished. It's pretty much the only Gundam show I can think of where one of the main antagonists baby sat the protagonist.

MG G-Self is going to happen. I would love for it to come out this year, but it will come out eventually. Sooner better than later.

Whether or not we get G-Arcane, Kabakali, G-Lucifer, etc. is another story. I mean Turn X got one and AGE got a few so I don't see why not if they're able to somehow reuse the frame for some suits.

I wouldn't mind a RE1/100 or 1/100 line either. But other than the G-Self, most of the 1/144 G Reco kits are actually pretty good.

I want an MG G Reco line more than anything really. Those suit designs deserve it and the series will only grow more popular with time as people warm up to it.

That's what I meant. Protagonist suits almost always get an MG, but it's the others that feel hopeless. Seed and wing only got MGs of their side suits a few years ago, and they're the two most popular AU series ever.

Those had 1/100 scale models in the past when the shows aired in 2003 and in the 90s.

The MG kits were to coincide with SEED HD Remaster and a much needed MG Strike Remaster and they ended up doing the rest too because they could reuse and share parts between them with the exception of Aegis having a more unique frame. Freedom could have been remastered back then too, but they decided to do a 2.0 instead.

The Wing suits are basically the same thing to coincide with Glory of Losers and the Ver. Ka updates then too.

Those two had a precedent set for them because they had ongoing promotional material to help bolster sales.

I mean as long as we get a 1/100 scale I am happy, a lot of 1/100 scale suits from the 00 and Re1/100 series are pretty good for the most part with minor painting needed. G Reco has some unique designs and it will take a while for them to make new molds for the models, even longer if some aren't able to share a frame. It's why we haven't seen an MG Build Burning yet.

At the very least we should be able get the main antagonist suits to go with the main protagonist for the MG line and everything else maybe a 1/100 scale later down the line.

That would probably mean MG G-Self and MG Kabakali unless they also decide to do Arcane/Lucifer and maybe Mack Knife since those are the more known suits and more prominent suits. Mack Knife also being in EXVS as well.

We still need quite a few antagonist suits for the MG line too like an MG Virsago to go with the X Line and maybe other suits down the line as well. Something like Reborns gundam won't get an MG since it's in the planning stage for a RE1/100. There is a huge line of suits too choose from, especially those that already have a 1/100 scale model as well as remastering older, popular suits into a 2.0 or 3.0 kit. That and rehashing old kits into Build Fighter kits like Transient.

I use all sorts of Gundam OPs when I'm brainstorming ideas for plot beats. It seems fitting given the genre. But regardless, there's so many good Gundam OPs. I love Dreams and Resolution from After War X. I love Just Communication and White Reflection and Last Impression from Wing. I love Toki Wo Koete from Zeta. I love Daybreak's Bell and especially Ash Like Snow from 00. The list goes on.

Invoke is growing on me, too. (The first OP from SEED.)

Was waiting for some more stuff and I'm kinda grumbly now as the lower abdomen part fell off and I can't locate it, I knew I should have glued that piece in. Doesn't look awful without it though so I really don't mind too much, it's also a standard piece on the red astray frame (same colors), so it shouldn't be impossible to get a replacement.

08th was good until the last episode then it was just awful.

Kinda ruined the whole thing for me.

That and Ice,always been Ground Gundam > EZ8.....way overstated I know but that mug is ugly as hell.

I like some flair, but I also like Gundam's that have down sides its why Wing Gundam EW is my fav, having a solution to every problem is so damn boring.
