that link says its a paperback... yours doesn't look like that.
I'm confused. It's faux leather paper?
Pretty much. The cover feels like a heavier card-stock covered with leather. It's pretty nice, doesn't feel flimsy at all.
It's only a matter of time before that happens.
Oh, and US/Canada get hyped:
I wonder if they make a pocket Silmarillion...Deluxe Pocket Edition arrived today, the thing looks like a pocket Bible (which is kind of awesome):
Salute.Well, I went ahead and pre-ordered an official Orcrist replica from the Noble Collection. Ships on Dec. 7th. It's my exceedingly geeky reward to myself for finishing college and (assumingly) my thesis in December. I'd always wanted an official replica of my own and, hey, a sword in general, to hang in my studio (and do totally bitchin' moves with when no one is around). Figured this would be the perfect time to finally get around to it. Originally I was going to go with Glamdring, but Orcrist's asymmetrical design just looks so damn cool.
I can say with certainty that I'd never thought I'd pre-order a sword, but hey, we live in space-year 2012.
Thanks for that.http://www.48fpsmovies.com/48-fps-theater-list/
It lists ALL theaters showing The Hobbit in 48 fps and turns out that there are a lot of locations for now. and it keeps growing. Some 400 + theaters at least for now.
Just perfect for the role. His dialogue with Martin Freeman is sure to be the highlight of the second film.any thoughts on benedict cumberbatch being smaug?

Also, looking forward to his depiction of The Necromancer.
I'm guessing Benedict was always on Peter's mind even before Sherlock, but his performances in Sherlock and as you said, his chemistry with Martin tipped the balance in his favour. I'm sure Martin also had a thing or two to say about Benedict to Peter Jackson.i just now realized it's going to be a trilogy. i dont know why, i just had it in my head that it was only going to be 2 movies? this is by no means a complaint - more middle earth the better! im guessing Freeman and cumberbatch's chemistry in sherlock was a deciding factor

WaterTower Music has announced the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack at all retailers on December 11th. The soundtrack will be available both digitally and as a 2 CD set. A Special Edition of the soundtrack featuring six exclusive bonus tracks, seven extended score cues, and deluxe liner notes will also be available December 11. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey features original score by Academy Award® winner Howard Shore recorded at famed Abbey Road studios by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally it includes an original song entitled "Song of the Lonely Mountain," written and performed by Neil Finn (Crowded House). The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first of a trilogy of films from Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), will be released in the U.S. on December 14, 2012.
Shores music for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy has been performed in concerts throughout the world. In 2003, Shore conducted the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in the world premiere of The Lord of the Rings Symphony in Wellington, New Zealand. Since then, the work has had over 140 performances by the worlds most prestigious orchestras, and has even been the subject of a book, Music of The Lord of the Rings Films.
"I have looked forward to returning to the imaginative world of Middle-earth for quite a while," says Shore. "I read all of the books by Tolkien, including The Hobbit, when I was in my twenties, and his deep love of nature and all things green resonates deeply with me."
"Its a thrill for us to work with Howard Shore on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey soundtrack" stated WaterTower Music head Jason Linn, "His reputation and body of work have long inspired us, and we look forward to another successful partnership as we embark on the next chapter of our journey together."
One of todays most respected, honored, and active composers and music conductors, Howard Shore previously worked with director Peter Jackson on The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, which stands as his most towering achievement to date. He won three Academy Awards for his music for those films, two for Best Original Score, and one for Best Original Song. Shore has also won numerous other honors for his film work, including four Grammys and three Golden Globe Awards.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on WaterTower Music in the United States and Decca Records outside the United States. It will be available on December 11, 2012.

I'd love to hear what Howard composed for King Kong.
digital...? lolI'm all over that special edition soundtrack. iTunes may cry on December 11th.
digital...? lol
The Special edition physical CDs for LOTR were beautiful. Can't wait to physically purchase this new one
I need soundtrack samples. Excitement is over 9,000.
Probably will be something we've already heard:* Unmarked spoiler track titles at link! *
Fandango claims at the end of their article that you can get a preview track when you buy a ticket from them starting on Nov 7th.
So we can at least expect to hear some of it towards the end of next week. Hopefully other sites will be able to share previews too.

Doug's reply:Doug, any idea why only 2 of the 6 "Special Edition-only" tracks were inserted into the flow of the main score, with 4 appearing at the end after the main presentation? Did Shore prefer it that way for a specific reason? Or was it a Water Tower Records decision?
It's presented this way for a specific musical reason. It will all make perfectly logical sense.
Two days before the film comes out. It may leak before then though.i want the music inside me, please tell me it comes out soon
6 bonus tracks and extended versions of certain tracks for the Special Edition.I'm not reading that tracklist but what's the difference between special edition and regular edition soundtrack?
Edmond Dantès;43871205 said:6 bonus tracks and extended versions of certain tracks for the Special Edition.
As I said before, I don't think there will be Complete Recordings this time. The Special Edition is already on par with the track count for the LOTR Complete Recordings.PREORDERED. And then buying the inevitable extended edition versions...
No confirmation of any 48fps theaters anywhere near me. I'm in the middle of Iowa and I think the theater close to me has some pretty high-end rooms. Barring that, there's always the Science Center of Iowa.
