You'd win it automatically Kagete.

Hi I would like to apply for this league. Willing to give my soul for joining Kagete's team :)

I don't see a fair way of you getting added without team kag getting butchered :/; your leagues ahead of all of us, and kag paired with either you or meeru is just crazy good because of the dominant mid +24/7 warding/counterwarding and 1900 support. Team Meeru and Team Kag would each have a "Meeru," but there's no third guy for oceanic (aside from swiftlame, but he's not really a gaffer). Plus team kag is also the most active team (with 6-8 usually on) while the other teams struggle to get 4 on.

Procarbine wants to run this IHL in its current incarnation and team structure till September, which sort of seems like a waste since there are at least 5-6 gaffers that are always online and hanging around for inhouses nightly.

I figure we should give things another go this weekend, and depending on how things shake down maybe try to petition for more relaxed, pick-up group rules.

Sorry dude but I can't. Not only do I not want the prize pool diluted but you and Kag together would make games 100% unwinnable for anyone else :X

I beg to differ... Loki and I have lost games playing together, his bad silhouette game comes to mind :|.

I think my team is currently perceived as the "strongest" because Alumnus, Puppetyuber, Pillowknight, Haly, and ulcajun always play everyday. Then you add my other guys on top of that and we can pretty much field 5-6 any night.

The real problem our league has is availability of enough people to play 5v5. If you had to ask me how to remedy this I would do the ff:

Oceanic:
+allow bzm to ring
+grab one player from my team

team tryhard:
-one player
+loki_demi (who has work every night, 6 days a week, and can only play from 5pm to 8pm anyway)

Meeru:
+2-3 frequent players (I'm thinking at least Gesisht (Madouu) and his friend)

Of course i'm biased. But honestly, we need to focus on getting games started, we've been in 5v4 situations wherein people weren't comfortable getting a ringer.

I don't think bzm even wants to ring, he's always said he wants no part in the IHL (not sure if he changed his mind though). Plus, after playing a plethora of inhouses with your brother kag you should know the only balanced and fun games were when you two fought each other xD. I think those two games were like 24-20 killwise the whole way through; whereas kag + lokey games just ended in 15 minute concedes everytime.

I think we really need to try scheduling matches, before any talk of dissolution crops up; I mean we've played about 10 games in about 1 week so far, right (albeit most were the first two days, it's not too bad a number). At least 1 IHL game a day sounds like a good target to me, personally.

On the flip side, I have no problem playing a bunch of in houses for fun in a relaxed, AP, and light-hearted environment. I don't think we have to turn all those into serious games by disbanding a team--I know I would miss them. If we can get daily fun in houses where everyone can play interespersed with 1 or 2 IHL games (that to me, is the perfect medium).

Why on earth do you want AP its so stupid boring no surprise factor.

I kinda agree on the loki + kag thing, well, not 100%. I have yet to fully see loki's abilities..although he schooled me back to elementary with his Pyromancer against my DR mid..didn't realize pyro was such a strong hero.

AP is fun when everyone randoms or if you want to try new heroes that you suck with (I used to suck with jera, but now I like him). I still suck with pebbles, but AP lets me practice with him.

AP mode is best mode in TMM, it goes like this:

- all [GAF] members random
- proceed to dominate game
- enemy team complains they lost because game mode was AP
- ???
- profit

Pro I wanted to bring this up earlier.

After the 4 games between Team Kage and Team Meeru the points (at least as I understand it) are distributed thusly.

First match: Team Kage wins and gets 5 points, Team Meeru loses and gets 1 point.
Second match: Team Kage wins and gets 4 points from diminishing returns, Team Meeru loses and gets 1 point.
Third match: Team Kage wins and gets 2 points from diminishing returns, Team Meeru loses and gets 1 point.
Fourth match: Team Kage loses and gets 1 point, Team Meeru wins and gets 5 points and another 1 point for breaking the streak.

The final tally is 12 points to team Kage, 9 points to Team Meeru. I think, and I'm sure others will agree, this is just a tad unfair. Obviously, the system is to prevent any one team cough Meeru cough) from steam rolling the others and getting an untouchable score, but as far as I can tell the teams are pretty balanced, and so this system winds up punishing for playing more games. I don't think anyone wants to start gaming the rule system for maximum returns, so maybe you should play around with the numbers a bit.

The reason it's like that is to keep two teams from playing a lot while a third team is benched. Without there being a fourth team to even the games played distribution, this needs to be done in order to keep the points somewhat balanced in the league. The system punishes two teams for playing consecutive games without a third team, which is exactly what I intended.

It looks ridiculous unfair that we earn only 3 points less than the other team when they won 75% of the games.

The diminishing system needs a nerf! Like drop the points every 3rd game played in a row.

I think pro's reasons to do it this way are fine. Until we have a better idea of how to manage the teams, it's necessary to make sure no one (team ocean in this case) is completely left out.

You need to lower the amount of points lost to DR to maybe like 5 4 3 2 1 but every other game. Although stomping shouldn't be encouraged, kinda crazy to win 3 games, lose one and only have a 3 point disparity between the two teams.

The funny part is, had we thrown game 2 we would've ended up with the same amount of points. Although, we would have denied team meeru points.

I like the diminishing returns, like pro said; without it team kag would be what, 30 points ahead of everyone?

Team oceanic!!! I thought we would be the most active team, but it seems like we can never get 5 on.

edit: Slackin' on those updates, pro.

I think the problem is though that, not all 3 teams are online at the same time, so the diminishing returns is really kind of punishing active teams for playing each other multiple times lol

Well, like in yesterday's case both team oceanic and team kag had 4 on (for the first game, at least), but we went with team kag and bzm rang for the first game. I feel like 5,4,3 (then capping at 3) is more fair than skipping 3 and going down to 2 and 1, but it's pro's league. There has to be some diminishing returns, but right now the current system is a bit too strict.

Edit: But I like the bounty concept a lot more in general. Beating a team that stomped you continuously and getting extra points for it sounds very rewarding.

I think the idea is fine, but the issue is that the values are wrong. The thing is that it discourages continuous playing, and we have very few games being played to begin with. The idea that we've played 3-1 and only have a difference of three points is discouraging, and makes me want to limit the amount we play. Also, the fact that if we had lost the second or third game instead, we would have a lot more points (14) while the other team would have less points is actually a bit ridiculous. I can see the idea of diminishing returns being effective when we've gotten to the point where one team is stomping another for an absurd amount of games, like 10+, but at this point I feel like it's just a unnecessary restriction. Not only that, it's not like we kept putting out our very best players 100% of the time (same goes for Meeru's team) in order to stomp the other team. We switched around to players who were on, regardless if they were particularly amazing or not. Just another reason why I don't see the point of enforcing such a strong and strict 'no stomping rule' when it was never even the intention.

I feel like we need to get together and discuss ways to make this IHL work, but that might just be because I don't really like how it's turning out at all.

Oh, and Anbokr, I really dislike the fact that you're saying 'whatever' because it's "Procarbine's league." I was not under the impression that it was. It's all of our league, HoN-GAF as a collective. We should be doing this together.

Anyway, well, here are the matches that were played yesterday:
