I know it’s still a few weeks away but here in the UK I haven’t seen any marketing yet.

Sony normally does a lot of cinema advertising for their big releases but nothing for Starfield. With MI-Dead Reckoning and Oppenheimer they would have the perfect audience for some Starfield trailers.

I went with the Steam version even though I have Game Pass, specifically for the easier/more widely supported modding. The Game Pass version will always be there in the future if I need it on a PC handheld (don't have one yet).

Nope. Your Game Pass sub is what gives you access to the base game. If your sub lapses you'll still own the DLC (from the premium upgrade) but you won't be able to launch the game. If you then re-enable your sub you'd regain access to the base game and still own the DLC. You could also just buy the game at any point during or after your Game Pass sub to get permanent access to the game. Since you have Game Pass Ultimate you get 10% off too (if you bought it while your sub is active).

I know eventually modders are going to do some crazy shit with this game. In the long-run I could imagine they'd build out some of the procedural planets with big bases and custom quests.

Maybe it’s my purview but a lot of people I know who play Skyrim and Fallout are barely aware of it.

I’ve had multiple conversations where coworkers are talking about Skyrim and I asked them about Starfield and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m really interested in seeing that type of game in a different setting.

Did anyone here preorder the physical premium upgrade edition to use with the GamePass version? I'm just wondering if Amazon or BestBuy will email the early access code? What's the point of getting 5 day early access if the copy takes 2-3 days to arrive? Since the early access is not explicitly a "preorder bonus code" but actually a part of the product itself, I was wondering if you guys knew this.

Ah got it. So he’s just trying to find something to bitch about - strange for a legit developer to do. I guess I was just genuinely confused why people don’t like it - it seems minimalist but looks nice. Do people want some sort of scene with characters in the background?

It’s just console war. As I said earlier, it’ll be worse before it gets better. The sad thing about it all is that many of the warriors actually have all consoles. Like, what’s the deal??? People are getting dumber every day, maybe it’s the heat idk. And this time there is a PC version too, day 1.

I ordered the physical Game Pass Premium Upgrade Edition from Gamestop. All the premium physical editions (Premium, Premium Upgrade and Constellation) are coming out on September 1st. I don't do mail order for launch games, as sometimes you get the game a day or two late. I'll pick up my copy from Gamestop on the 1st.

I personally think the start screen looks really nice, would have preferred to lose the welcoming box (I assume it's gonna be repurposed to promote DLCs etc later on), but that's life.
