The I can't stop playing WoW so my other games cry out in agony tread!

Ok, so my list of games that have fallen victim to my WoW addiction are as follows:

Paper Mario 2
Pirates!
KOTOR2
Zelda: 4 Swords
FF: CC
Half Life 2
Star Ocean 3

I'd also add Metroid Prime 2 and Baten Kaitos to the list, but I haven't bought them yet because I don't know when they will be played.

Ugh, WoW is too addicting. Can't....stop....playing.

*convulses*

Don't worry

WoW will either burn you out on MMO gaming or ruin your desire to play games altogether...just a matter of when

I'm the same way, only with Burnout 3. I finally got it for Xmas. I keep telling myself I need to play MP2, but I always end up turning on the Xbox for "a few" races instead.

I'd like to say my time is being split with WoW and Prince of Persia:WW, but WoW is still dominating...

Viewtiful Joe 2
Metal Gear Solid 3
Mario power Tennis
and my DS all hate me right now...

I thought I'd get burned out but I'm an addict :(

I didn't even renew my WoW subscription. For one, I'm not really able to devote enough time to it where I feel like I'm getting my $15 a month worth. Furthermore, it really just wasn't that much fun. Sure, the world and characters are cool but the missions themselves are fairly boring.

I renewed it, but I'm not playing right now. I've had enough of the retard playerbase for the moment. I play on a RP server, but I see too many DBZ arguments in general chat to put up with it.

Going to master Teras Kasi, Rifleman, and Pilot in SWG; get Force Sensitive, and then go back to WoW.

There are only two games that manage to tear me away from WOW. Rome and Tribes 2. Both games give me more excitement then WOW does, but I don't play them nearly as much right now.

You seen DBZ arguments on a RP server?! I play on a RP server and the worse thing I've seen was some teen asking if he should do a girl that wants him. I said "this is not a fucking teen help line" and the conversation pretty much stopped. You should have paged a GM or told them to shut the hell up. That sort of talk isn't allowed on a RP server.

MMOs can screw you on getting behind on games. I did manage to finish MGS3 and MP2 in the midst of playing FFXI last month, but I've just about given up on GTA:SA, its shoddy mission structure, shitty flying missions and gimmicky RPG additions.

To me, the true test of a single-player game is if it can pull you out of an MMO long enough to complete it. I guess GTA just reminds me of what I'm missing as its a massive game with no multiplayer and a bunch of shallow RPG elements. I find stuff like Zelda, Deus Ex, KOTOR, Metroid and Metal Gear and titles that are just captivating to be the only temporary remedy for MMORPG addiction.

Maybe some Half-Life 2 would help ya out... or just get you hooked on something else. :lol

The server I'm on rocks. I don't see any OMFG WTF losers and it's not overpopulated, which means my mobs are always alive when I need them to be. At the same time, it's not a ghost town either.

I cancelled WoW specifically because it was taking up too much time. I played something like 35 hours in 10 days. I had to stop.

Same. I delivered something like 10 dodads, 15 whatwhos, and 10 more thingyboppers, than the next mission was to kill more of these damn things to collect 15 masks, 20 somethingelses, and blah blah bunch of bullshit.

My experience exactly. Does anyone know if there's an increase in mission variety at higher levels? I got to level 14 and, aside from a few quests where I simply had to go a certain place, they all seemed to follow this setup.

Can anyone tell me what's so good about WOW, since I'm too lazy to read the reviews? Like, what are the best features? What you did there that you haven't seen in other RPGs.

BTW, I think the game graphics looks so dated (on screen-shots at least) that I don't feel like playing it so soon. :/

i want WoW, i need WoW, but i will not get WoW. when i play addictive games bad things happen. shit i'll probably end up getting.

FUCKING HELL.

The game does not look dated. In motion the game is absolutely stunning. As for whats so good about it, I really can't tell you because I just started playing it recently. So far it seems like other MMORPGS except with more polish.

I didn't renew my sub either. Despite the touted casual friendliness, I was starting to have to grind in the 20s. And grinding solo sucks because of the repetitiveness of the quests. Instances were a lot better, but grouping was really lacking in WoW. Since soloing is so emphasized, a lot of people weren't interested in grouping, and of the few who were many didn't know how to play in a group. PvP was awesome though, and I might pick up the game again at some point for that aspect.

I've been able to play WoW and still have time for all my other games that need attention. Dunno if I'll be able to keep that up though once the new quarter begins.

Sounds like you just didn't know how to, you know, make friends. I'm in the 20s too, and I have a bunch of friends and a guild to play with. I can't just stand there doing nothing but killing mobs.

So far, WoW's a blast, and has been eating up all my game time. My problem is that the game isn't solo ENOUGH -- to pass the big XP quests, you hafta group. Otherwise, it's grind grind grind. Fortunately, I'm in a good guild with MAF and Tre, and they don't mind offering tank services for my poor priest.

I've also started playing MGS3, which is pretty good -- a sore sight better than MGS2, at any rate.

Do the instances, they are MUCH more fun. Plus PVP on NON PVP servers is quite fun. Nothing better than ganking some idiot who's flagged himself pvp in horde territory. I don't like like the constant, can't get anything done, PVP on PVP servers. Sometimes I like to grind in peace. The quests are a little too much of FedEx variety but the sheer volume of the quests and the rewards are worth the hassle most of the time. The class specific quests are perfect examples of this as they give you phat loot usually.

I should mention that I'm in a very good guild with a great group of skilled players. If you play on Aggramar, look me up (Hollowbane - Level 41 Warlock - Vindicator in Oath of Vengence). It's a medium-low population server and I love it. A few wandering idiots (all on the Alliance side of course).

I had no problems making friends, the problem I had with WoW is the design doesn't really encourage group play. Thus, you have a smaller pool of people who are willing to group, and of that number the amount who will know how to play in a group is even less. Outside of PvP, I really enjoyed some of the instances, but of the people in my friends list, it was hard to get together enough (3 or 4) who (a) wanted to play the instance I did at the time I did and (b) were within my level range. I tried out three guilds and none really met my needs as far as offering people to group with. Two were too small (a dozen members or so), and the third was too large (over 150 members when I quit) and impersonal for my tastes.

The emphasis on soloing also makes it harder to make friends in WoW. Pickup parties were particularly bad; a lot of the ones I participated in had people dropping after five or ten minutes (after they'd gotten their 10th Naga brain or whatever) often with no one even really talking.

Right... let me see you do an Elite instance quest without soloing. Even if you are like 10 levels over the mobs in instances you CANNOT solo them. Instances also drop the best loot. If you want to advance your character you are oging to be better served doing it while soloing and taking on the more challenging quests in groups.

Also, before anyone brings up the experience system. While soloing it is true you get more xp per kill, but in a group you get less. Well the thing is you are killing mobs in groups much quicker than you are solo. This cannot be debated... it is fact. The experience you get by soloing exlusively or grouping exclusively will be roughly the same. WoW encourages grouping, don't kid yourself.

Was this a reply to me? What are you saying here, "let me see you do an Elite instance without soloing"? Your statements above are contradictory. First you say you want to see me do an instance without soloing, then you say you cannot solo them. ???

I know you can't solo instances, this is what brought on my complaint about grouping in WoW. Aside from PvP the main enjoyment I got from WoW was from doing instances. The problem I encountered was finding enough other people who also wanted to do instances. I found partying outside of instances (to complete quests) to be rather dull, due to what I pointed out in my previous post: people would party up for five or ten minutes to get their eighth creep head or whatever, then split.

Actually, I did do the Van Cleef/Dreadmines (if I remember right, that's what it was) Elite quest. Was fun, but not enough. The lack of a hand to hand class also hurts the game in my eyes (yes, I'm a brawler type of player) and Warrior was very unfun to play.

Besides, if I kept playing, I would have missed out on beating this:
