Less effects plus worse frame rate is a pass for me.
I really think the framerate is better once the levels get going. That initial rendering of the textures makes it chug, but it goes a lot smoother after that. Either way, I still haven't decided what I'm going to play this on... It also sucks that GameLoft has no public community manager that would be able to talk to us about this issue.

Not me. Sorry :) there are plenty of pictures out there. Including one posted today!

IM CLOAGAGING THE THREADF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starbucks advertising in this thread was a pretty smart move on their part. I too succumbed to the half-priced Mocha Cookie Crumble talk. It was quite tasty. (I got skim milk to help offset the delicious chocolate whip:)

Wait... is this like... Dice Dice?

Dice with Buddies is more like Yahtzee, or specifically Yahtzee with Friends. The ad-free version is free right now, but all the IAP for extra rolls (seriously? how fair is that?) make it seem like it should always be free.

LostWinds seems interesting in the few minutes I tried it so far. The controls though I'm not sure about. The touch controls were a bit annoying, but I'm not sure I like the virtual d-pad either (I never do). Will definitely play some more though.

I grabbed a few extra Lost Winds codes, but I'm too afraid to hand them out.

This Frotz app is sucking up all my meal & toilet time. I'm currently weaving in and out of Zork & Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Anyone here play these good old text adventure games? Got any recommendations?

I gave Frotz a go, but found it a little impenetrable. I've never played a text adventure before and didn't really know what I was doing.

:lol

But really, missed opportunity for them to not put it on sale to go with the release of the second game. It will probably take a while to go down in price again though, it was $0.99 on April 6~13.

I know, and I seemingly was hours away from getting it at that price on the 13th or whenever.

Infocom released a treasure box years ago that had a bunch of their really good titles. It's been too long for me to remember names, but try googling that up for some ideas.

The best two (Zork & Hitchhikers Guide) you've already mentioned. =)

A few NOVA 3 pics. iPad 2.

Looks cool. Far from PS3/360 stuff, but quite a bit ahead of PS2 too. I guess it wouldn't be out of place as a Vita game.

edit: hmm, banned site. Anyone know an easy place to host some images?

hmmm here is a video I made of me playing this with my 'claw grip'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1benFg2mqAA

It works surprisingly well for shooters because you can shoot and aim at the same time. Also easy quickscoping.

Trying to play while balancing my vita as a camcorder on my belly is hard =P

I think I developed this around Modern Combat 1 or 2. And how nova has ironsights... it seems to work alright here as well for now.

Awesome. Thanks for the effort :)

Flunkie, I'll be joining you guys sometime tonight or tomorrow for some new Ascension expansion action. This is exactly the recognition I needed.

I'm really excited by what Playdek has done with this update. Some very thoughtful tweaks to the interface, beautiful iPad retina support, and the game itself is great of course (but I already knew that since I've had the tabletop for six months :P)

The gameplay of Lostwinds reminds me canvas curse, one of the reasons id like to try it out .

Aw man, I can't wait to see this in retina resolution. Has anyone gone deep enough with the expansion to give impressions?

Also, when are we getting our proper Dominion app? It's taking too darn long!

This used to be my favorite GAF thread and it's become an absolute disaster. Mods need to take control of this. Codes should have their own thread with the exception of devs trying to promote their game. This thread is for discussion of games and it's become nothing but advertisements

Isn't there an unofficial version already? I remember the cards look exactly the same. Does that not count?
It's limited to two players, the online is sketchy, and it has no expansions, which are the biggest part of that game. I mean, it's good for what it is, it's just that it isn't much.

Latest update is that it'll be playable at a convention called Origins on May 30th.

For those who seek more info regarding this or who want to actually see it in operation, we will have several iPads set up in our room at Origins where players can play the version we are testing. Also, based on how the testing is going, I expect the we (Rio Grande Games and FunSockets) will be releasing very near to Origins. Thanks for your patience.

Jay

I wouldn't get your hopes up though. They've said they'll be releasing soon months ago.
