Like you, I'm always looking for those kind of games as well and unfortunately there aren't any other games on in the Appstore like Swory & Sworcery. It's a pretty unique game. But there's still dozens and dozens of good games out there for iOS devices. It just comes down to what you're looking for. But it sounds like you may be in for a lot of disappointment if you're wanting more of what Sword & Sworcery offered. Have you tried out other point-and-click adventure games?

There's a game in the works called The Other Brothers and it's pixel art reminds me of Sword & Sworcery.

Wow, looks fantastic. Curious to see what kind of game it is.

I paid $1.99 for that Rage HD spinoff, I want more than just three levels. And why did they update the game just to add the same three levels with absolutely no difference in content or difficulty?

As a score attack kinda game, I love it and I still play it a shitload ever since it came out. The levels are set up really well and just like Cave's shooters, the curve towards perfecting your game is endless and really satisfying to progress in. I believe an update did add a mirrored mode (which is probably what you refer to as the same three levels) and the most recent 2.0 update adds two awesome new levels for just a buck.

For me, the game has more than enough content. Play it like a highscore-oriented game and even one level is plenty of content for the price of admission. Hell, I only started playing beyond the first level a few months ago cause I was having too much fun mastering the first level on Nightmare.

Damn haha nice score, I'm having trouble just getting 17 again. Yeah level 2 a lot harder. Took me about 20 tries to finish but when I did it was the high score. Working on 3 and it's even harder, boss splits in 4 with multi directional patterns and multicolored bullets fuuuuuu.

And I still can't tell for sure where the hit box his. It feels like its one pixel on iPad 2.

Will try stage 2 again in a few in hopes of beating that score lol. Good job though.

Read this in the TA forums for Shogun:

Alternate controls and bottom deadzone will be added for the next update.

I wasn't aware of the recently added new levels. I guess I'll have to pick it up again.

Edit: Wait, you have to pay for two new levels? Never mind.

Has anyone tried this game? It looks alright.

The whiny bitches over on TA are saying it has control issues, so you might want to wait. I'm tempted by it but I'm not sure, I don't know if I like tactical turn based games still... :\ if a gaffer I know and respect posts about it then I may have to jump in though.

I may have to get Paper Monsters if it wins, I have a lot of points saved up I should use. The site seems to really struggle to get new sponsor apps so I don't see it lasting too long.

They're now fishing for likes on a post if you want it at a discount

Paper Monsters for 200 credits at 500 likes, 100 credits for 1000 likes. It's at 120-ish likes at 300 credits right now

Alright, #1 in the US and #3 in the world for mission 3 in Shogun. I almost had close to 14mil on one try but I died at the boss.

I'm working on stage 3 boss. He's a beast.

Practice mode would be nice but the levels aren't too long, so it's not that bad.

Ok, I unlocked Shogun on my IPad, and just downloaded it on my phone, but the restore in-app purchases button doesn't do anything. I don't want to "buy" it again and get charged twice for the unlock.

This might sound absurd considering how scummy the iOS gaming scene can be but I think there's a certain honesty to it that doesn't exist on any other platform. When there is no barrier of entry to developing and publishing games on the App Store, it sort of becomes a little meritocracy. If your game is shit, it won't sell. If your game is great, it will.

The problem is all the good games that fall somewhere between those two extreme. But I think this platform is so ubiquitous that word of mouth goes much further than it does on other platforms. Just look at all those niche board and trading card games that rarely get covered by anyone, yet seem to be doing just fine.

Forget-me-not had a lot of discussion in this thread's previous incarnation but the last time I checked the leaderboards (months ago, but after it was popular) there were barely 2000 people in gamecenter. Honestly from looking at top 20 lists on the store I'd say that word of mouth is basically useless unless you score a mega-hit because the constant influx of me-too games and lowered standards, particularly in under-represented genres, means that the hype window will just rapidly move onto something else.

Guys I'm bit lttp but I wanted to make another run through Chrono Trigger (been a while) so I need to decide between iOS and DS version? What do you guys think? I have my iPhone with me all the time but DS has longer battery and probably controls better...
What to do :)

What's Soulcalibur like? I'm considering in getting it on the iPad.

I enjoy it for quick, fun sessions. A bit hard to pull off exactly what you want to, but it's definitely fun. Kinda made me want a bluetooth gamepad to play it with. Wish there was an official one at this point.

If you're not 100% on it, I'd wait for a price drop honestly.

What kind of game is it?

It is a slot game based RPG, Really quick paced battles. It is a slot machine, and you equip each slot with different bonuses hoping to pull enough heros and weapons to defeat your enemy. It is hard to explain how it works, given it is not your typical rpg.

King Cashing is becoming my favorite game yet on iOS, it is so good! I am constantly playing it right now!
Such simple games are so addictive. Once I finished King Cashing I managed to ween myself off of it, but man, I'm totally Dungeon Raid's bitch. All the characters are at least level 2, I've just nutted out how shields work (duh) and I have two characters quite highly-leveled, one at 8 and another at 9. A few others at 4 or 5.

I can't stop playing it!

Can any kind iCade owner please give me an idiot-proof guide on how to map my Street Fighter buttons to L, M, H punch along the top and L, M, H kick along the button?

I push both red buttons to open the settings, I need to press B button to activate the button selection, but what do I do then? It's driving me nuts that I can't even begin to sort this. :(

Edit: never mind I figured it out. :P

Mystery Mania is currently free. Get it while the deal is still hot.

Wish developers would announce some point 'n click games. The genre isn't getting enough love.

Does the iPad have to be jailbroken for this?

Wow, nice. Reminds me of Maniac Mansion a bit.
