The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Gaming |Thread4| NOT Doomed

best version as I predicted. there's an area below the playing field (ala cave shmups) where you slide your finger and it's 1:1. so much more accuracy than a controller.

my only gripe is that there's no portrait mode. seriously wtf. and yea, town navigation is crap.
So it's not better than the PC version.

As for the game itself, of what I've played I think there are too many levels inbetween the "story" sections. By the time I got to the werewolf boss I was getting impatient.

Wait, Phoenix Wright is on iOS?

I've wanted to play the series forever but I only owned a DS for a short period of time. Any issues with the port I should know of? If not I'm buying it tonight.

I'm haven't started it yet, but Bar Oasis is supposed to be a good visual novel type game on iOS.
Only the first PW is on iOS, but yes it's there. I haven't downloaded it since I own it on DS, so I don't know of any issues. It does look like it includes the DS-exclusive case, based on the description. Costs $4.99.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone else got any others?

EDIT: Looks like Bar Oasis is a nice choice. Will definitely consider.

I'm enjoying this so far. I never got into FourSquare, but Turf has just the right amount of charisma for me. I'm hoping people start adopting it because there's not really been any competition - I own work, my apartment complex, and every bar I went to last night, and I was the first to take over each of them. I will say that there seem to be some back-end issues - from time to time, the game will 'forget' what trophies I've won, or how many crystals and gold I have stashed away. They always reappear later, but it's definitely been a source of anxiety.

I'm really liking this a lot too and its awesome b/c I own everything in my (small) town!

One of the downsides however - I own everything in my (small) town. I really hope people adopt it as I really like games/apps that use the device in creative ways like this.

My biggest issues with it so far however is that fact that they want to charge you one cystal to do a "Collect All" from your properties. WTF that should be standard. Annoyingly designed to - you guessed it sell you more crystals via IAP.

What´s the best graphically capable game on the Ipad? Is it Infinity Sword 2? I have seen a video about an app that has an fighter jet with great graphics. I did not catch the name.

Infinity Blade 2
Real Racing 2 HD
Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy
Crazy Hedgy (looks brilliant after update 2.0)
Dead Trigger
Riptide GP
EPOCH
Galaxy on Fire 2 HD

Hey everyone, some shameless self promotion :) I am a designer over at Phosphor games (we did Dark Meadow last year). We just put out our first official trailer for our new action/adventure game 'Horn'.

We will be releasing a little later this month.

I think your trailer looks good.

Since it's a Zynga game, will it feature any of the "designed-in-a-lab" freemium features they are known for?

We will have some iap options but the game is 100% balanced for people to play, have fun, and beat it without any iap. (No one in the studio has played the game using iap and it has been balanced around that)

In regards to the platforms. We should be finalizing that shortly but it will run best on the newer devices.

Great to hear-thanks for answering and good luck!

Anyone else playing 10000000? I am not a huge match type puzzle gamer but I have been enjoying this a lot so far. Pretty addicted and I like how each game doesn't take very long.

I was wondering if there is any Rhythm Heaven kind of game out on the App Store. The game concept would fit very well with an iPhone or iPad. Already played Beat Sneak Bandit and osu, but they are not really like Rhythm Heaven.

Played Dungeon Raid? you really should...

I played the lite version a long time ago and never bought it, will have to once I am done with 10M.

I keep checking the App Store hoping the New Star Soccer update will get fix and posted, I have been playing that game for around 4 months now, can't say that for too many iOS games.

Anything puzzle games like Monster Flip? Already have Bejewled but am looking for a more under the radar game like Monster Flip. Took a chance on it and it's turned out to be one of my favorite games. Would like to find something new though.

I really like Agent Dash. I do love the auto/free running genre, so idk.

It looks really good and adds more things to the Subway Surfers formula. I still play SS every other day. I will probably do the same with this.

I was thinking about the Brave Temple Run reskin. I would be cool if Disney took Agent Dash and made it into an Incredibles theme. Or even a phineas and ferb theme where you are running around as Perry.

Zookeeper DX is similar and great (one interesting detail that makes it different from other Bejeweled clones is that you can move the pieces around while other moves are still going). Birzzle Pandora is a different kind of puzzle game but also quite excellent.

What's the best golf game I can play on my iPhone? Is there anything like Hot Shots? Let's Golf has some good reviews, but it's Gameloft.

How is Sky Gamblers? The graphics look fantastic.

A good fun game but a little short, online is very busy but its one of those games which is hard to learn and harder to master against other people, good luck avoiding missiles :(

Worth playing, I played it on my ipad 3 and with HDMI out it works great.

Was gonna say, wtf is Infinity Sword 2... I hope there's no ripoff app with that name and he didn't accidentally buy that one... Again, it's Infinity Blade 2.

Also extremely impressive is Real Racing 2, despite coming out 2 years ago.

So it's not better than the PC version.

As for the game itself, of what I've played I think there are too many levels inbetween the "story" sections. By the time I got to the werewolf boss I was getting impatient.

didn't know there was a pc version. so you could be right. definitely better than the console versions IMO.

Super Stickman Golf is fantastic. If Let's Golf 2 was still around, it would be my suggestion. You can get LG1 in a sports pack by Gameloft I think?

I'm getting addicted to Happy Street like I am with Snoopy's Street Fair. But this time I'm going to resist purchasing in-game currency.

Yeah as soon as I hit a pay wall with those kinds of games I stop, happy street seems to be pretty good about giving you the premium currency without paying for it

I'm getting addicted to Happy Street like I am with Snoopy's Street Fair. But this time I'm going to resist purchasing in-game currency.

Out of interest, does Snoopy ever give you enough premium currency to do... anything? I've been enjoying it but it seems like I'm going to need thousands of Snoopy Dollars to buy all the characters and minigames and stuff, but I'm averaging about one a day.

Happy Street is just fantastic. WHERE DID MY BATTERY GO?

I don't understand how anyone could play more than one of those games, they're all exactly the same. I was so disappointed when Happy Street, after initially impressing me with quite a nice art style despite it drawing so unashamedly from Animal Crossing, devolved into something following exactly the same formula of building, waiting to restock, building more, waiting to restock, occasionally tapping people and the constant lure of paying to speed things up.
Time sink bullshit. It's just awful.

No, you're never given enough Snoopy Dollars to do much with. I guess if you're patient and play every day you can get, I think, five of them every so often. But even doing that would take forever to get a whole lot. I'm scared to know how much I've spent on those dollars.
