Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
It's not working. I have tried every direction of finger swiping on the Diggster and it never counts as petting.

If anyone figures out how to pet in Monster Life, please post instructions.

You have to diagonally go up and down a few times? Like, bottomleft-topright-bottomleft-topright-bottomleft-topright without raising your finger, go slowly enough for it to notice, try different speeds? Not just one swipe, definitely multiple swipes. That's how I do it and it works :(

Ya I'm going to get it whenever they put it on sale again. Turning your jog into a zombie apocalypse role-play seems fun.

It sounds interesting, as its something I've always imagined would be fun during a jog, but all I have is an iPad and android phone. I imagine it would look odd to be in full sprints through town though.

Thought I would show you guys how my game is getting on, I have been working on and off on this now for quite a while and it still feels like I need a good few months before it's ready, but I am getting there.

If you have a usable item such as the grenade it will appear on the character instead of a hud element, once you use the item it's gone visually. I have worked on explosion effects today and am happy with them, everything flashes orange and you get bits of things bouncing around making a mess :p

Is the lack of Fieldrunners 2 talk due to the fact that the iPad version isn't out yet or because people are tired of tower defense? Because it's really polished and has a decent amount of content with no in-app purchases. Wouldn't put it at Sentinel 3 or Kingdom Rush level, but it's right below and definitely worth spending time on.

Tbh it's wasted on the iPhone, thanks autocorrect. It really needs a larger screen.

Probably. I'm playing it on the iPad.

EDIT: Misunderstood autocorrect. Thought it had something to do with the screensize :)

They released it on android a while ago. It's a decent app, I enjoyed it anyway. You can use it for walking or running. It's really simple, just listen to a story and occasionally you get items to upgrade buildings afterwards, and there's also short periods of zombie chases at random, interval training I guess, where you need to increase pace by over 20% for around a minute. They're pretty infrequent though. It's not a bad app if it sounds like something you'd enjoy, I don't think there's a whole lot I can imagine one could improve on the concept, while keeping it hands-free.

Fieldrunners 1 is my fave TD but I'm not buying 2 until they release the iPad version.

How's infinity blade 2? I remember reading that the iap gold is a necessity later in the game, true?

Both games require IAP at the higher levels unless you want to grind to your deathbed. I should clarify, you can still defeat everything in your path just fine without extra gold. But if you just have to collect EVERYTHING, then I don't see how this is possible in either IB game without tossing more money at Chair/Epic. That's why I quit the series.

That looks interesting, but why is the view so zoomed in? Feels like you can only see like 5 feet in front of you.

To be fair-you don't have to keep every item once you've mastered it-if you sell your old stuff you can manage just fine.

Damn I can't wait for Baldurs Gate!

Has there been any recent info about the remake of Shadowgate? Definitely picking that one up for iPad.

Will check out for sure when it comes out.

I don't like that particular "loose" style of tower defence (geodefence swarm excluded) so have not picked it up.

Dynamite Shikoku

Congratulations, you really deserve it!
I wonder how the new longcat iphone is going to affect games made for the current iphone size screen. I guess just black borders on the sides could be ok

I mastered every single piece of equipment in Infinity Blade 1 on new game+ without buying IAP, so there's that. As long as you sell your older/obsolete items it's totally doable and you rarely go without something new to upgrade for a long stretch. It's repetitive and you do have to grind your ass regardless, but if you enjoy playing it as much as I did that's not a problem (on the contrary).

edit: assuming you keep wearing a Gold+++ helmet for dat gold.

How's the Jurassic Park game? Do you need IAP to get anywhere.
The Jurassic Park game is far too addictive. So far I have spent $10 on it for a dinosaur, but only because I wanted to support the devs. I didn't need to IAP and I haven't IAP'd since. Get it! It's a lot of fun, especially if you're into Theme Park, etc.

What do you mean "loose"? That you can place your towers anywhere? Not every stage is like that in FR2.

Fieldrunners 1 is my fave TD but I'm not buying 2 until they release the iPad version.

I figured that might be the reason. I plan to rebuy it when the iPad version is released.

That you can place towers everywhere, that enemies can come from unexpected places/angles and the whole 'swarming' thing with lots of units.

If not all stages in Fr2 are like that I might give it a look.

Ah yes. If you sell your loot, life would be better....I just hate selling my gear for some reason.

I'm enjoying Happy Street, and I'm not even really into this sort of game. I guess the charm got to me.

Any other game of this kind to recommend? Monster Life looks interesting, but considering its Gameloft I'll just assume it's the worst kind of freemium...

There are several stages where you can't place towers anywhere. Enemies can, however, come from unexpected places now and again, but they mostly come from the same places/directions. Not sure what you mean with "swarming". What I can say, however, is that within the boundries of a classic tower defense template, they've managed to vary Fieldrunners 2 quite nicely by introducing different objectives/rules from time to time. So you won't encounter just one setup that works and operates the same way all the time.

I'm enjoying Monster Life quite a bit. I've been playing since the day it came out and so far I have not felt the need to use real money to buy resources. I've checked the prices / requirements for some of the higher level monsters in the shop and I know that the wall is coming, but so far it's been great.

Has CrazyQuest been mentioned here yet? If not, seriously check it out.

It's very pen-and-paper feeling in term of RPG mechanics. It's tough, it's fun, the dev is in the in-game chat all the time helping out, the people actually chat and have useful things to say, and it's free with NO ads or IAPs.

If classical RPG mechanics are your thing, CrazyQuest deserves space on your idevice.

Stupid question, but... How do you TRAIN?!? And where does the extra XP from boosters come in? I know habitat boost gives purple stars, but what about boosters... And how do you train them? I don't know how to do that quest.... Fighting isn't it, is it just the "exercise" option with boxing or something else?

Umm I hit the pay wall for Monster Life like 5 min in. How are all of you enjoying it? :/

Gettin frustrated at these city builder f2p games lately when I can get so much more enjoyment out of a game of civ.

What the hell, this isn't available for me in the UK AppStore. I want to try it. :(

I think I'm still in the tutorial part of Monster Life but so far it seems fine. If I hit a pay wall it is getting uninstalled.

Also, got your request for red dye in Happy Street. I'll send it once it's done being crafted.

Cool, I've been waiting for Infinity Blade II to go on sale. I've only got a "hand me down" ipad 1, but it still seems to play alright. Pretty cool game.

I'm the same.

Pay wall = delete

I hate paying for in game currency and for that reason I hate 99% of freemium games. I just want a complete full game for a single price.

Monster Life just sent me notification telling me my monsters miss me. Yea, time to uninstall.

lotta black folks here
Fuck you Happy Street. You didn't have full page ads yesterday.
Not happy.

The ads are definitely annoying. I'm hoping that they at least tone down the frequency that they open. Having an ad pop up every time you open the game sucks, especially with how often I tend to load this sort of game.

Tangentially, anyone playing Happy Street that wants to add me, my GC ID is wutoz.

It's not as bad as it looks in stills, over a year ago when I first started planning out the game and making the sprites it was for a slightly bigger res but not as large as a retina iphone, right now the game runs in the older device res of 480 x 320 because it scales perfectly and keeps the image sharp, however i'll mess around with screen sizes before I release to see if anything works better.

The camera will shift around carefully when you move and aim your weapon, in a way the closed in camera keeps you in check since the game is more survival then action based. Medical first aid boxes around the game are one-use only.

I'm starting to wonder if the iPad mini will turn out to be a pretty sweet gaming device especially for landscape mode games due to the smaller size. If Apple pumps out a 32GB version, I'm all over it.

I love my ipad 3 but I will buy a mini for playing games on, I think it will run games a little better using the old ipad 2 res and it should look fine on a smaller screen.

Macrumors report that there is no camera hole on the back of the mini case, not a problem who really uses it?

I won't be getting an iPad mini until they are Retina. Anything less than Retina would seem like a downgrade from my iPad 2.

Heh, I recently had the same thought. Especially since I do the vast majority of gaming on my iPad now. I'd have to see how it feels. It just might be overkill when I already have an iPad, iPhone, iMac and Air.

LOL

I just started cracking up uncontrollably when I read that. That's how I am too. I don't like games that do that kinda shit, especially if I already said "no" to notifications.
