It's too bad the Epic Win guys apparently bailed on the app (no updates in past year). Always thought that was a fun idea. Any other gamey to-do/task apps? Preferably iPad-ready.
Paperless is the best to-do app. I love it.

I'm not sure how this is hard to understand... It moves the text cursor by swiping on the keyboard. So instead of using Apple's awful little magnifying glass to move your cursor somewhere when you need to make an edit in text, you can just slide your finger on the keyboard to move the cursor. Android swype is another thing, entirely. Not sure, android allows you to swipe over your keyboard and whenever you cut a corner it writes the letter on that corner, you make a little circle for double-letters. What does this iOS thing do?
That's not what he's asking. He wants a game that works like a to-do list.Paperless is the best to-do app. I love it.

Yeah, it was such a great idea, but such a sloppy product. I remember being hyped for over a month, then just so disappointed the night I got it. There's a solid concept there... It would be nice if someone did something with it.I'm not looking for a good todo app (use Wunderlist -- it's aight, but most importantly has web & android versions) just a fun one. This might not exist and maybe Epic Win was the be-all end-all (still really surprised they didn't run with the concept more).
I broke down and bought Sword and Poker 2 yesterday. It was 4 dollars and I thought I might regret the purchase after playing the light version (representing about 20 percent of the game) and breezing through it.
But I am surprisingly pleased at how well balanced it is and it does offer quite a challenge as you begin to go through the various areas/stages of the game. It introduces a lot of new wrinkles to the battles, a decent amount of upgrades and you never really have to grind to get ahead (although that is an option if you want to do it). Best of all, no IAP at all.
So, if you are a fan of Puzzle-RPG games, this one is top notch and well worth the 4 dollar price tag it currently has. Don't let the Poker part of this game scare you away, it's a puzzle/strat game at it's heart.
Cross-posting a challenge from the iOS board-game thread:
Issuing a challenge to GAF: Beat Ghost Stories on Normal with random everything (4P).Not a firsties thing; I'll just be impressed if anyone can do it.
Going to be spending a little while myself trying it out....
Ghost Stories is so fun, I just need to remind myself to come back to it. Kinda wish it had achievements for random motivation.

You're a good man.
So... has anyone played Gene Effect specifically on an iPad? How are the controls?
I just can't shake the feeling that there's a good game in Burnout Crash buried underneath my inability to understand how to play it.
Non game-related question:
I decided to cave in and reactivate my Facebook account (yep, I was without one since having one years ago and proudly so), I was wondering if you guys could point me out what's the best way to use FB on iPad? Thanks!
Am I the only one whose game keeps crashing when playing it? It is basically unplayable on my iPad 3 and iPhone 4S (both on 5.1.1)
Um, the facebook app? lol
They suck. My biggest let down of the year so far. Blah.
Damn okay. Thanks for saving me $3.
Um, the facebook app? lol
Yes. It's not good, but it is the best one.Lol, there's a proper FB app? I wouldn't know buddy... duh, no shit Funkie my friend but bear with me:
that's the best one IYO? Because it has 2 stars rating over thousands of votes, while other FB apps have 4 stars ratings and such.
The fact that this is true is fucking ridiculous.chiQ said:It is a bit rubbish, but it's the best option.
Finally took the plunge today and:
B) finally put down 10$+ and bought Darius Burst. I was always jelly of the game on PSP (as some of you guys probably know I'm a shmup nut) and seeing that the game never had a drop in price since release back in February I've come to the conclusion that it was no good waiting anymore to get a discount. I wish the game had iCade support, hopefully it controls fine with touch controls on my iPad. If you guys are interested let me know and I could write down some impressions as soon as I've put my hands on the game a bit.
The fact that this is true is fucking ridiculous.
To be fair, the controls do work well enough, the problem is with the terrible placement of the virtual sticks. If you're ok with them being placed at the very bottow of the screen I think you will be fine.

Humanity destroyed!
Finally won my first game in Plague Inc. I actually felt a little bad when the number of alive people was quickly reducing to zero, heh.
Cure research stopped at 87%. This time Canada was the first country to fall. I can hold grudges.
Great game. I wonder what's the difference between bacteria, virus, etc. Couldn't notice any.
Very cool, albeit creepy as ****, game.
So, Rebuild is like those Tap Tap Farm Zoo games, but it has zombies in it and actual missions and objectives that don't act out in real time, and actual strategy elements that may or may not result in actual death. Like an actual game! Brilliant.
I fucking suck at it.![]()
Yeah, think I'm finally close to my first "victory" as well. This is my third attempt, and this time I tried to spread the disease ultra fast before investing in the bacteria's deadliness. Seems to have worked. I also started in Canada this time around, as it was the country giving me the most trouble in previous games.

So. What the heck are we doing?
Heya guys, I know it's been awhile. Wanted to update you all on what we're up to, and I know there's one bit you all will be particularly pleased with. =)
1) We're working on a small puzzle game you can pick up and play. It's premise is that it's a tactical game played at Esotre's Academy, much like how chess is played at West Point. There's a funky AI to go up against and live multiplayer that you can challenge friends over Game Center.
2) We will be releasing a free version of Ravenmark where all campaigns will be IAPs.
3) Now, since we're doing that.. We'll be giving our current players (You guys!) Deepwood Dragoons for free! You'll be seeing it soon!
4) Ravenmark Multiplayer is confirmed and has been added to our schedule - most of the heavy design work has been done. It'll be a new app with a streamlined experience. In it, you'll be taking on the role of a mercenary captain that can play the various factions of Eclisse against each other along with async multiplayer to challenge your friends with.
5) We'll be creating an account system (with Facebook Connect) that will tie together all our current and future games such that your progress in one will give you perks in another. So completing a campaign in Ravenmark single player would unlock unique characters/stuff in multiplayer and the likes.
Phase 1: Rave about "a game you found" about eliminating humanity on GAF
Phase 2: Let everyone become addicted and good at eliminating humanity.
Phase 3: ???

Some news on Ravenmark (from TA):

PROFIT!
In iTunes select your device, select the apps section; make sure the sync new apps is unchecked. Also, when you sync if it asks if you want to apply your changes say yes. If you didn't make any changes in iTunes itself relating to installed apps or their placement, it's asking if you want to keep the changes you've done on your phone over time or revert back to the way iTunes thinks it should be. (Thats my experience at least.)
Otherwise I don't know.
This time I raised the infectivity really fast, and then I accumulated DNA points enough to immediately raise the letality to high levels. I accumulated points instead of quickly spending because I didn't want to catch any attention. That way I managed to caught the world with their pants down, since when they realized how letal the disease was, it was already too late.
One useful tip is to demove all your upgrades that don't increase letality, antibiotics resistance or genetic reshuffle as soon as every single person in the world is infected. After all, when everybody is infected you don't need upgrades that raise infectivity anymore.
And yeah, game is really creepy. When everybody died I felt kinda creeped out, haha.

I was wondering about that. Do you get DNA points back when you devolve stuff?
LOL!
Well, it's definitely one more piece of expression on the heap on already existing zombie mess that says a lot about our collective-unconscious anxiety about the world we've helped create and where we think it may be headed. There's no denying it's weirdly cathartic.

This is for bacteria. It costs you 5 DNA points to devolve for viruses, so mutations are more damaging for your strategies. You get 2 DNA points back per trait, regardless of what trait it is.
