I think this is Jim's particular brand of hyperbole and humour. Hyperbole from playing up a thing that maaaaaaay be possible in the hormones having some sort of adverse affect that some sort of trans specialist doctor may have compared to morning sickness or something like that. I can see that having happened, Jim running with it, then making that joke about the name and the father. Never going to be born might just be a fat joke, so it works on two levels.
