The Last of Us' autosave has a glitch. Read if you're playing. [Apparently fixed]

Solved!

Thanks for sharing this information. Won't start my playthrough until after work. Very unfortunate to those that lost progess over this though. =/

Yes, Christophe Balestra confirming on twitter that the issue is fixed. It was server side.

What part of saving would have issue from the server side? What part of saving would have to do with servers?

Isn't the game supposed to be saving into the HDD.

EDIT: I see it's been answered above. Still seems troublesome. I wonder how the casual/ uninformed player would react to this.

I couldn't disagree more, I like the pace, and the controls are fine.

I'm shocked anyone could enjoy it. In my opinion it's the worst I've played this generation.

You can't even shoot unless ou hold L1 which instantly puts you in a slow, clunky view that is impossible to aim and takes even longer to kill anyone with.

Quite a few people like it. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it is far better than I expected.
Yo should try it again, I struggled with the controlz at first too.

@cbalestra: "We just gather stats to see many people play the game and the kind progress they make."

Maybe you should start working on a patch so that the game can still autosave if your stat collecting server is not responding...

Havent connected my ps3 to the internetz in like a year so I guess its safe for me then..
Assuming it dont need some kind of update of the ps3 software to even be working.

Well it's not meant to be fast paced like the Uncharted series - the ideal scenario would be sneaking round someone and getting head shots in.

I think the aiming is pretty good too - especially if you take time aim up your targets.

Edit: I presume that you're making use of the crafting/store system to upgrade your weapon during the match, right?

I'm really trying, I cant get use to the view and bullet sponge enemies. All they had to do was emulate Uncharted 2 and tweak things.

Yes they should have thought about that. But not with a patch, that possibility should have crossed their mind from the start.

@mubly It's unfortunate that some people have lost a lot of progress. :( But we've found that won't happen now.

Super.

If you haven't seen it already, we have we've been investigating and have discovered where the issue was -- the cause was from our servers for The Last of Us, which were capturing player statistics.

We've made a change to the servers. Quit any game in progress out to the XMB and restart the game. Existing saves are fine.

Single-player and multiplayer are both okay to play (since some of you were playing offline).

Hooray! Seems to be working so far...

Thanks Arne, absolutely loving the game so far.

It's a bitch to lose so much game time, but could be worse. Thanks for the quick fix.

New patch, installed it. Still, autosaving all day in start menu. Once again I'm screwed without a fault of my own.
At least the progress lost wasn't that dramatic and the games fucking amazing.
